Last person would have to rappel down. With a rappel you place the center of the rop at a tree for example and drape both ends around the tree and down the line. When you're done just pull one end and the rope will come free. Can also use a big rock, any solid holes in rock, a V-thread, etc. Anything that a rope can go around. Or place some sacrificial gear.
First person checks either for a spot where there is no or very little cornice or he breaks of the cornice / digs out a path for second guy to get into the line. Usually there are no trees in high alpine. However if there is decent quality rock around an anchor can be made and you could rap into the line
Using a guide atc might be better since it self-locks.
That way the first person can get into the line. What does the last person do?
