      And plus its not about being a member but you need to have foot solider too. People who will actually go out and campaign, knock on doors as people like that. I have been doing some canvasing and door knocking for the local election. I actually ended up knocking on the door of someone who said is a Reform member, since 2021. He then asked me, what it is that I am doing. I said well I'm doing some canvasing, engaging with the public, get insights in the run up for the local elections. He was like, what now!?! You do that just one day on the last week. The guy just simply did not have a clue about campaigning and being good footsoliders and I suspect that a lot of these "members" are treating this like those gym membership you do for the New Year and not turn up for. They just think sharing a few posts and clicks will be enough. It might work for a little while but eventually people will get annoyed if they get no visibility from Party representatives.

Imagine those two political parties as governing and opposition, two parties who actually care about the majority of the country, it's public services and don't race bait or divide, It is such a shame so many torys got through. I would have loved the LIbdems to be the official opposition. The haters on the right can argue over their profits and losses like cats in a bag, what use are they to anyone? This is genuine and polite question because I want to understand, which sector of society provides the wealth to fund all that? The super rich will just move and those with talent and ideas won't bother, you can't force them to make money for themselves (and the taxman).

    • @lr6633
      @lr6633 19 дней назад +1

      @@barrysnelson4404 Thank you for being respectful. Neither the Libdems or Labour are advocating any policies which should make responsible people who love their country flee. You must surely agree that the country needs a change and we cannot just carry on with failing public services, rising crime, deteriorating health, while a few become richer (avoiding Tax wherever they live) and some have to use charity for food, and water companies cream of profits while our waterways and seas are filthy, for example. Labour creating a state owned energy company and using new technologies etc to create jobs, as well as funding training are examples of how socialism and capitalism can mix successfully. It has to be a better tactic than just blaming immigrants and letting the country fall apart?

    • @barrysnelson4404
      @barrysnelson4404 19 дней назад

      @@lr6633 I accept all the needs (and I have Labour voting children who are right up your street) but your last point is key - "capitalism and socialism mix successfully". I don't know any true Soviet socialists, that is who want a ten year waiting list for a Trabant motor car and the Red October Plastic Sandal Factory. All who claim to be socialists are all on that spectrum of that mix and want the energy and dynamism of capitalism, to some degree. I respect the viewpoint but I never see spelled out, how to achieve that seemingly impossible compromise. Nowhere has it been made to work, not even in the mythical " Scandinavia " . It is not possible to nationalise brains, talent, ideas, energy, enterprise. The state is dependent on those who have those talents to use them productively and they can easily choose not to. Anyway, that's the question I have of the political left. Explain exactly how you will make a success of that mix, it isn't easy and could well be impossible.

    • @lr6633
      @lr6633 19 дней назад +1

      @@barrysnelson4404 You mix it and do your best. Blair actually achieved it quite well. He improved the NHS and the country was both fiscally buoyant and had a social structure which supported families, eg Surestart. Don't mention the war, but Blair actually achieved close to a working productive country. Scandinavian countries do work and are always the happiest populations. That is because they balance socialism and capitalism, if you want to work and live there you pay taxes but you know you are supported throughout life. They treat their people with respect and the people pay their taxes and live with security. Hence happiness. Here, if you miss a payment through ill health you could lose your home because you haven't qualified for help, your pension is minimal unless you are fortunate enough to have private etc etc. Scandinavians have none of that. Also they have not lost their value for life and humanity because of materialism, which in this country we have. I suppose all I can say is through putting value and resources into building a country which values and rewards hard work, but has the caveat that we are all in this together it works better, not perfect. but much better. That is the opposite of trickle down, which is a myth. Look what Musk is trickling on us, for example, he said our country is in civil war etc. We just need to give Labour a chance to fix things a bit and give everyone a break from the hate

  • @DavidShepheard

    Labour can not win every election. It is ESSENTIAL that the Lib Dems engage with the middle class people and get across the message that both the Tories and Reform UK work for billionaires and do nothing to help middle class people. They need to get the voters who refuse to vote Labour to vote for them instead.
    Likewise, Labour needs to understand that if it can not win every election, the "country first party second" way to deal with this is to make sure that parties who want to run the country in a different way are able to win seats, but politicians who have been bought out by billionaires are banned from UK politics for life. They need to shut down the foreign-owned media and replace it with media owned by people who live here and who pay taxes here. And they need to get First Past The Post done NOW and give us a new Magna Carta that makes it impossible for rich people to abuse the law to control poor people.

      I don't think they'll succeed but Starmer needs to get a handle on Foreign donations in ANY form.

    Max , you fail in the first 42 seconds to point out ….i know you’ve done it previously , but repetition is essential….that Reform members are not members , or even shareholders of Reform plc, and Reform have not complied with their constitution which they put to the Electoral Commission before the 2019 election, let alone 2024.

  • @davidpaterson2309

      @ You missed the point, perhaps deliberately. The Reform Party, like UKIP and all the many other incarnations, is just “the Farage Party”. Remove Farage from the leadership and you have a boring property developer and a bloke who talks like a pub bouncer and obviously has no party loyalty or principles at all - he’s been in all of them. They are trying to make it more than that but so far it’s just Farage plus more Farage. That’s great if you want to build a personality cult, but not a broad based political party.
