- This video is somewhat of a continuation of my power rankings series. In the past I made three separate videos on ranking the top ten characters in the series, but with a twist. I ranked the top ten characters in every arc based on what we knew at that time in the series. For example, I did not rank someone like Kakuzu or Hidan until part two because we had no idea who they were in part one. Another example would be that when I ranked Jiraiya in part one, I did not consider sage mode when ranking him because he did not even mention that until his fight against pain. So really it was a video looking back into our perspectives when we first watched the series, and I also did things like talk about who had the strongest defense or water style jutsu in each arc. This video is a little different though. I will be eventually hitting those arcs again in this video, but I’m not going to restrict the information I have this time. Instead I’ll be ranking the top shinobi of each era, and only the ones alive in said era. So for example Minato made my list in almost every arc in my original power rankings videos, but this time he won’t eligible for the eras after his death. Some people in my original power ranking videos suggested I talk about the strongest alive in each arc, so this is how I have decided to transform that idea. So I’ll not only be doing rankings for each era, but also talk about the dynamics of power across the world in each era too. Examples of this would be who is the fastest of each era and how each era stacks up against each other power wise. I will preface this like I did with the original power rankings videos by saying there will be a lot of grey areas in rankings due to a lack of information. We don’t know exactly how strong prime Hiruzen or the Sannin were in the second shinobi war for example.

I generally agree with your rankings, except for the Third Great War. In my opinion, the Third Raikage (3rd War) is the strongest. He ranks 2nd in speed, has the 2nd most destructive and deadly attack (Hellstab), and has the most stamina (maybe chakra too, not including jinchuuriki). Additionally, his durability is unmatched. There’s no move other than Dust Release that could kill him. You could argue that he’s vulnerable to drowning by water style, but I still think he takes the top spot in the Third War.
Regarding Hiruzen’s “God of Shinobi” title, I think it was more due to his knowledge of all jutsu and his ability to counter them effectively rather than brute force. It’s like how the word “omniscient” is compared to “omnipotent” despite the two having an unlimited difference in power.
Also, I would love to see a video that covers all the Mangekyou Sharingan abilities, including the speculated powers of Fugaku, Izuna, and Madara’s MS.
Disappointing that Might Guy wasn’t mentioned at all.

The Hiruzen disrespect is crazy on these vids ngl. In the DB it clearly says Hiruzens talents passed Tobirama in CHILDHOOD (Similar to Sasuke/Naruto and Jiraiya/Orochimaru). Plus by the time he became God of Shinobi he had no rival to the point nobody was on his level. So a 22 yr old Hiruzen should at least be 2nd. Considering the leaf won this war after Tobirama died idk just doesn’t make much sense that Onoki would be stronger than him at any point imo. On top of that it’s an extremely safe assumption to say he’s at least the strongest Fire Style user. Criticisms aside you have some of the best vid ideas. Great Video!
The Sannin were not that much weaker base to base than when they were older, they were overall weaker than their Shippuden base forms due to having less of an arsenal (and the biggest gap is between Orochimaru). Jiraiya had still learned the Sage arts and Tsunade still had her monster strength, all Jiraiya was missing was rasengan and obviously they lacked their enhanced forms. Jiraiya still thought Hanzo was an incredibly powerful Shinobi based on their encounter when he was young, strong enough that somebody killing Hanzo warrants Jiraiya to prepare to actually die in battle, Hanzo downplay is unwarranted.
It’s also nigh impossible for Sasori to have killed the third Kazekage with a stealth attack since he explicitly states the third Kazekage was difficult to kill. Killing someone by poisoning their drink like in a telenovela is not difficult, and honestly there’s no supplementary material that points to that theory either.
I definitely think sassori beat 3rd kazekage in battle. He seems so proud flexing it and as u said, bragging about the kage causing him trouble.
But just looking at the circumstance, sassori being a schemer(setting up an ambush on orochimaru at bridge, the sleeper spy’s in his village) it definitely was more of a planed assassination, rather than a fair fight. Probably set up and took advantage of some unfavourable situation.

Completely off topic but normally I listen to your videos while doing other things but I happened to be actively watching the video for this one and man, the Japanese words completely destroy RUclips's auto-generated subtitles 😅 I saw it attempt the most broken nonsense. Kazekage turned into "kazak KAG" and jinchuriki turned into "shery". Rasa was spelt different everytime you said it from "RZA" to "roses" to "rosza"
A lot of people downplay Tsunade, Glad she was on the top 10 everytime. I just wished she used more abilities aside from her self healing and summoning (or at least other non support summons), we know she can do more stuff because of the Kabuto fight. And also, Sakura deserved a more linear scaling. She was a average genin pretty much in part 1 and in part 2 she is a very good medic and is very important in the Sasori fight, but she should have learned more stuff during Shippuden. Maybe she could have made a sage mode training while Naruto was learning ksm (that would be a great video, especulating snail sage mode). That combining with her healing and if hagoromo gave the Jesus healing to her instead of Naruto would make her not a joke in the ending of the show
I agree. The sanin were all stated to be relative in strength to one another and I believe tsunade is actually stronger than jiraiya. Not to mention she is the 1st or 2nd best hokage.

Kinda sad Fugaku didn’t get an honorable mention for the 3rd war part. He earned the nickname “Wicked Eye Fugaku” during the war so he had to have been at least a little known
I think hanzo could have potentially been higher in his era, seeing as he was the bulk of the strength of the rain village and was said to have repelled the 3 major villages trying to mobilize through/control the rain village, and he did so well eventually it was decided that it would be less detrimental to actually go around the village than through, of course I’m not saying it’s absolute fact, and it’s a lot easier to wage a defensive battle specially with his specific skillset, but it’s a thing to think about.

hanzo seems more like he was considered an equal to hiruzen. jiraiya thought it was pretty much impossible that someone killed him in shippuden, and that's when he was probably in his 60s or so. and i'm pretty sure someone(maybe pain?) said that pain only beat him because he lost his conviction

Guy deserves a lot more love on this ranking. A lot of people make it out like Guy needed the 7th gate to beat kisame but it was massively overkill emphasizing that he is just in another league ahead of kisame. I genuinely believe guy was close to pain level only using the 7th gate due to his genuine speed blitzing capabilities, the hirudora, and just his pure strength with regular punches in general. 8th gate guy destroys so many shibobi I don't wanna get into it

@@New_Horizons Idk, I'd say there's proof to argue otherwise. He's literally called the "Leaf's Blue Beast" which suggests people from other villages refer to him as perhaps one of the Leaf Villages main assets. You might say it's a nickname he's given himself, but if it isn't it's most certainly not a nickname someone from the Leaf Village has given him, it's more likely a nickname his opponents from other villages would have given him. I'd at least say it is honestly an argument that he has a reputation outside of the Leaf.
Another point is that he is a bombastic large scale fighter, with flashy moves and a loud personality. Someone like that is probably more likely to have a reputation. Given this along with his nickname, I would say it is honestly fairly likely he does have an extensive reputation outside of the Leaf Village. The fact that Kisame uses the specific word Beast to refer to him might also mean he was already familiar with his nickname, calling him strange instead of blue to mock him, kinda strange coincidence otherwise

I don't know if it would make savory make to the list but it's kinda implied that he really thought the 3 kazekage since he says that this puppets is his favorite because it was the hardest to obtain
How do you feel about Hashirama vs EMS Sasuke? I feel like Amaterasu is a really good counter to Wood Release but Hashirama is obviously crazy. Especially if Sasuke could use all the fire to setup a crazy kirin or something. It's one of those things where I feel there's probably some scaling things that would make it one-sided but I would love to have seen what a relatively even fight between them would have been like.
Yes Sasuke said in the war he planned to burn the entire ten tails with blaze release. It's a good counter, but he beat Madara with a perfect susanoo on the nine tails. Sasuke only has the perfect susanoo at that point. Would be interesting to see how effective blaze release is against wood release.

I don't think using WA feats for much earlier versions of Ohnoki makes much sense considering he got massively will amped, and Deidara even stated at the beginning of the WA that he's faster than in his prime.
The Minato manga takes place during the 2nd Great War, which you can tell from the vests being different, so Minato should definitely be on the list for the 2nd War era. anywhere between 2nd and 8th depending on how you interpret some things.
You can argue P2 Kisame>Sannin, but in P1 he's pretty fodder. Kakashi matches his bloodlusted Water Shark Bomb, Asuma reacts to, blocks, and damages him, Kurenai puts him under genjutsu, Itachi states he'd have a tough time against Kakashi, and Base Guy intercepts and knocks him back.
After the WA, Bee's definitely stronger than Ay. After getting mentally amped, even his base can overpower a suppressed V2 Ay, meaning he should at least be above V1 Ay, and the difference between Base and BM is definitely more than the difference between V1 and V2. He also has feats of relativity to MKCM Naruto later in the war.

I am personally far more impressed by Onoki and the Third Raikage compared to Hiruzen. For instance I don't think Hiruzen can 1 v 1 the 8 tails to exhaustion or fight 10000 shinobi for 3 days.
Hiruzen's biggest problem is that the only fight we saw from him was in part one. He had no hax abilities, no kekkei genkai eyes, no senjutsu, or anything that made him special. No great stamina no speed feats, no secret clan techniques, or even an S level elemental jutsu. Kishi in my opinion thought when he wrote part one that the high kage level is when someone can use a lot of low-level elemental jutsus (that is the same level basically what Kakashi and Zabuza did, butt only fewer elements nad less overall chakra). And he thought that Hiruzen was already too old to fight.
As the story progresses, more-and-more Akatstuki member show up, he introduces the other village's leaders and strongest ninja's he thought that he had to step up, to make ninjas able to compete with the likes of Akatsuki, reanimated ninjas, and Sasuke (during the five kage summit). Then he created Onoki who has more hax abilities, an insane level of earth jutsus, and a broken kekkei tota, and can fight against a reanimated Madara with the other kage. Although he was older than Hiruzen who struggled to take down a Sannin in part one.
In retrospect, if Hiruzen had his major fight in part two, he would have been way stronger, but for now, he is pretty featless, and we can't really say that he has any chance against Onoki or the third raikage. We can only assume from the hype that he was stronger than them.
Because the hurizen we know of has gotten soft apparently due to the period of peace. Hurizen we know, just chills around the village smoking a pipe. Solving conflict with words.

@@pityu190 Yeah Hiruzen is largely featless although prime Hiruzen is implied to be the strongest kage of all time though with known onscreen feats we can only give him so much at the time he fought Orochimaru they made it seem both the 1st and 2nd were at their full power (with unlimited stamina and regen hax) though this was clearly retconned Edo Tensei was a major nerf before Kabuto got his hands on it (where as with him the nerf became negligible for most people)

I think Tsunade did have her 100 healings mark in the 2nd war but never used it. We have seen that in order to summon Katsuyu you need the byakugou seal to do so. Other top tier medics like Sakura and Shizune were incapable of summoning Katsuyu until Sakura got the byakugou seal. So i think oda (*kishi* lol)retconned himself😅 because we then see in the Minato manga she's drawn without the seal... its too inconsistent.

I wont the sasuke points against him because : yes, Naruto clones were there but Sasuke literally bodied just as many zetsu as Naruto. And Its still arguable if Naruto should have even won the final battle. Its hard to look past that.
On the other hand, Naruto did much more work against Kaguya than Sasuke. Especially when Sasuke was sent to a different dimension.
So Naruto vs Sasuke is a real stalemate.
Interesting point about shinobi wearing less armour cause jutsu got more prevalent. I always assumed the reason was that times got less violent like irl were people used to cary swords or daggers everyday while nowadys most people walk around unarmed.

I don’t know if I completely agree. Shusui is definitely stronger than Itachi and so is Fugaku. Fugaku literally is known as the Wicked Eye. Fugaku chose not to fight Itachi but would have soundly beaten him. Also, Fugaku was looked at alongside Orochimaru as a candidate for Fourth Hokage. You lowballed Fugaku so hard in your rankings that I just can’t agree.

I think a big reason why Kisami/Itachi didn't think they could take on Jiraya is because he used amaterasu and infinite tsukiyomi and we know the damage and effort it takes to use the abilities so Itachi probably needed to recover.

@@myrongainesthegoat That's a nice unconfirmed theory you have there but mine is actually supported by the fact pre-battle Itachi had used infinite Tsukiyomi and then had to use amaterasu so it is conceivable that Jiraya could have been a threat in their current states.

The rankings are bad. You should count the kages. The reason you should count kages because being kage means you are the strongest in the village or at least one of the strongest. Also Hanzo is way too low. He is far stronger than 3rd Kazekage. There are several things to note. One thing, is that the summons that Kabuto did in the war arc were weaker. That was one of the thing that was stated by Orochimaru. Kabuto did mass produce edo tensei but those edo tenseis were like much weaker than the original version hence there were getting defeated so easily as opposed to when Orochimaru summoned 2nd and 1st hokage who were at their full power.
I don't know why people don't get that. Read the war manga arc again. Second Hanzo got lot weaker over the years. He lost his conviction and became more concerned about preserving his power and life rather than being strong. So the Hanzo that got killed by Pain was much much weaker than the Hazon in the war. Remember, Hanzo at prime was called the god of shinobi along with Hiruzen. There were very few shinobis with that title in history. Hanzo was like the OP shinobi in the Rain village who took care of any problems. No one could do anything to him. 3rd Kagekaze is garbage compared to him.
you are wrong on the edo tensei thing,it's specifically explain kabuto refined the edo tensei and made them way stronger,we see hashirama and tobirama be revived with only fragments of their powers but couldn't escape orochimaru's jutsu, but we see them revived again by orochimaru using kabuto's technique and it's immediately shown that hashirama is so much stronger now that he can undo the edo tensei at any time and tobirama is not far from doing it either

(all statments are from the author through characters and are true until proven false.)
yashiro came up with the plan for shisui use speed to kidnap the 3rd for the revolt.
So this statement isn’t only referring to the clan.
2.The author narratively thinks yashiro has seen and knows enough to say it.
This includes minato they both faught in the same 2 wars and yashiro worked with obito who fed him information for the revolt.
considering the revolt plan is based around shisuis speed they definitely discussed it.
Implying obito also holds shisui speed in high regard.

Placing the third kazekage at 4th during the 2nd great ninja war seems crazy to me. Sasori beat him, and then tokk his body as a puppet. Him WITH said puppet then lost to Sakura and Chiyo. How is he higher than Chyio? Imo, he should not be on the list.
Might Guy in the part 1 list should also 100% be above Kisame. In part 2, he beats his 30% clone with only using his 6th gate. Given we know how powerful the 8th gate is, there's no way 7th gate is less than 5 times stronger than the 6th gate. It should probably be more like 10 times stronger. Given this, even if we say that Guy would be way weaker in part 1 than part 2, which if we do, I don't know why the same would go for Kisame even if to a lesser extent, we should be able to say that 7th gate Guy is pretty comfortably beating Kisame, even if he's doesn't beat him as much as he does in shippuden. With this said, him not even being on the list is probably the thing I'd say is by far the most wrong with this video.

There is literally so much context and prep time that went into the Sasori fight that slanted things against him and he still would’ve beaten them despite that had he not chosen to die. I honestly can’t be assed to give a detailed explanation beyond that with my first response because it’s clear that almost nobody has even reread that fight in the manga and actually paid attention to it.
Third Kazekage is factually>Rasa=war Gaara>Shukaku, Chiyo explicitly hypes him up as someone stronger than her.
@@hobbyhorse5848 Everyone especially swagkage/seththeprogrammer orbiters says that Sasori "didn't take the fight seriously" which imo is massive cope. If you actually watch/read the fight as you say one should, there's almost nothing to suggest that, he says at multiple points he'll love killing them. It's only in the final moment that one might say he chose to die, but even at that point they'd already defeated his 100 puppet army, the third kazekage, and had done major damage to his puppet body. As mentioned, if you re-read/watch the fight with an open mind and thunk about it fairly, I thin you'll reach the same conclusion that the idea that he "threw the fight" isn't backed up by the source at all, and is way overhyped.
Being above Rasa is not an accomplishment in my opinion, I just hadn't gotten to that part in the video yet lol. Being above Shukaku is 100% not an accomplishment, Naruto beat Shukaku at 12 years old, and Hidan and Kakuzu beat the 2-tails jinchuriki who is stronger than the 1-tails (jinchuriki are stronger than their bijuu). You might say that Naruto had Gamabunta with him, but uh, so does Jiraya + he has a massive arsenal besides that.

Afaic, he well might be, but what I think the whole debaucle shows is that all the characters involved are in the same ball park as Sakura. Chyio might be weaker than Third Kazekage, but against Sasori who is way stronger, her prep time and Sakura's presence makes up the difference. That is more my opinion though than the first paragraph I will say, which is like, my main point in the argument that we're kinda having here

Hot-take, I don’t think tobiRama could beat gengetsu. TobiRama is physically stronger/faster, but I can’t see how he beats gengetsu’s clam. Mu was a top tier sensory ninja, so he had a counter to gengetsu, but tobiRama has nothing like that.
Tobirama was one of the best sensory ninja of his generation; It’s like one of his few feats. It’s kinda contradicted by him being snuck up on twice by the gold & silver bros but plot holes do happen.

And Gaara baerly fought against him, but based on stamina I would assume that Sasuke wouldn't stand a chance. This fight exists to show that the other villages are also strong, Sasuke is there only to showcase how every kage would stomp him

I mean correct me if i'm wrong but itelligence to me doesn't mean knowing a lot of things but being able to adapt to anything that comes ur way.
And thus being able to invent two of the most powerful jutsu all on ur own seams rly smart to me. I mean think about all the people we know as geniuses today. Almost all of them are famous for having discovered or invented something totally new that will always be linked to them.
Knowledge and intelligence are completely seperate to me. Being able to convert what u know into a completely new thing that to me is true genius.

@@PersioZ A lot of the Naruto fanbase believe that MS Sasuke was weaker because he got beatdown by Killer Bee while Hebi Sasuke held his own against Itachi who was dying and allowing Sasuke to think he could win so that he could extract Orochimaru from his body.
that's not the reason.after the itachi fight,sasuke loses the cursemark,so no curse state anymore,and he just barely gets the MS and he's not used to it,and it's also taking a huge toll on him so he only becomes weaker for a short while because by the time the 5 kage summit happens he had surpassed that form@@wem_iii
@@wem_iii well with the curse mark he lost that amp from the version 2 plus the ability to fly and the Orochimaru substitution but the CM amp pales in comparison to the Mangekyo with the better genjutsu, Amaterasu and Kagutsuchi, the Orochimaru substitution drained his chakra so the only thing worth in the curse mark is his ability to fly that only affects his fight with Deidara and without Amaterasu Bee would’ve killed Taka and I didn’t even mention Susanoo

Nah, Sasuke beat Deidara. He then gets mangekyou, which is one of the biggest powerups in the series, meaning with it he should be significantly more powerful than Deidara. He then loses to Killer Bee. Killer Bee then loses to Kisame. This demonstrates how Kisame is levels more powerful than Deidara, someone who was able to blow up the entire sand village
