The abyss, the 'bigger the soul' the longer it takes for them to escape. Kinda thing. So if a prime evil gets sent to the abyss its going to be a very long time before they escape. Compared to a small low level demon.
"Don't be quick to judge Neyrelle because we don't know if she's being influenced by Mephisto" - that's very bad writing, because when you take agency away from the characters everything becomes unreasonable and unexplainable and every single outcome can happen because the story has no logic. Like Donan at the end of campaign - no reason for what happened to him. Nayrelle stays because she's influenced. Neyrelle runs away because she's influenced. This explains everything and nothing. Funnily enough, this is a direct reflection of the falsifiability principle in scientific method.
We know for a fact that Nyrelle is being influenced by Mephisto, she literally admits it in her little breadcrumb letters to Lorath that you can read in The Book of Lorath and even admits that she doesn’t think she can hold out much longer in the last letter where she says she’s heading to Kurast, setting up for the expansion.
Neyrelle is not just stupid, but profoundly delusional. She has no experience and she already almost died in the story if not for the player and Lorath (when she lost her hand). After all those events it's simply irrational to conclude the best path forward is to (one-handedly) take the Soulstone and go alone to Akarat's tomb.

Relevant patents in Japan are completely different from in the US/west. In the US Nintendo would not be able to patent a "pokeball" mechanic, because that's a concept and patents in the US can not protect concepts. Here in the US game related software mechanic patents are almost completely unheard of, I think Warner Bros has one and that made news because of how unusual that idea is here. In Japan, developers patent every little thing in their games, and Nintendo has literally thousands of game related patents, covering everything from equipping items to change a character's appearance, applying stat points to give a character advantages, and using a creature as a mount. It's all ridiculously absurd. I'm assuming some level of common sense is involved though and Nintendo can't enforce a patent that was filed after another company had already used the thing, so the "pokeball patent" shouldn't be valid here.
@@ScytheNoirecompletely inaccurate. It was created to protect IP so those with original ideas can be protected from having their ideas stolen. It's called "Vessel of Hatred" and it may as well be Neyrelle at this point. The situation for people to dislike her is very reasonable given that she's supposed to be smart and pretty informed about the Horadrim history. It's pretty apparent that they have never destroyed a greater evil, they just lock it up until the host goes mad and they eventually escape which is pretty recent history for them. The player character deals with Lilith while in hell. The most obvious solution would be to have the player rest up, go back, try to summon Mephisto in his weakened form and deal with him then. She just runs off with the soulstone.
Nintendo is such a bizarre company. I loath their stance on refusing to ever allow their games to be playable on PC; they could have their own PC platform to where select old/ancient titles are available so that it doesn't take away from their console sales. As for the legal pursuits. Legal system by and large in theory sound greats, that its meant to protect business and civilians. Yet in practice its just become a system to exploit others. This legal battle from Nintendo towards Palwolrd just boils down to greed on nintendo's part. The arrogance to assume that no one else can do something too similar to your game...
Still think that witch doctors should at least be npc's in the dlc. As they are spirit walkers. They commune with the spirits . They SHOULD have been the second side to à coin with the spiritborn....
honestly, "villain does something evil to protect the world from greater evil she was formerly aligned with" isn't that just the plot to Destiny 2: The Witch Queen?
Nobody is willing to lean into actual evil that believes in its self. Real evil only does a little good to make sure it can do evil better in the shadows. Evil. Don’t be good!😭
I started playing Diablo in 1996. I put 1,000s of hours into Diablo 3, yet, for some reason, Diablo 4 turned me off at launch and I didn't get into it until Season 5 a little over a month ago.. I still can't explain why, but I absolutely love it now. I've pre-ordered Vessel of Hatred's Ultimate Edition and can't wait for launch. 👍
That's not really how Sanctuary works (or has worked in the past). The subtitle for Diablo games should be, "This is why we can't have nice things" but they probably think that would be too many words.
Hey Square! All you missing sales are on PC! Maybe stop the exclusivity and you'll see better numbers! I totally agree with you about Square Enix. Many people, myself included, are waiting for FF7R to be launched on PC. I would much rather have my games on PC and I can be patient. They get paid for exclusivity by Sony so I don't feel bad at all. Plus, SE's sales expectations have been out of this world in the past several years.
My take on their theory about seasons - it's bad. Seasons are, while fun, bad for a story driven game like D4. Making leveling super fast is also bad. Unless you're a complete moron, the game just feels.. not challenging, Not even the PTR felt challenging. Seasons built to be missed = garbage content that doesn't mean anything. There is then no reason to get excited about it. Unless of course you're a whale who just wants all the cosmetic garbage. Leveling so fast that nothing feels challenging.. doesn't mean anything. At that point, just start us out at 60 when skipping the campaign. I'm glad they've finally started to pull their head out when it comes to the gameplay, and gear - but overall, the game still has a hell of a lot of problems... at least for me. I mean, it clearly has taken the D3 devs who finally were done with D3 to come in and re-shape everything. That's just speculation but it seems pretty obvious given the timeline.
2:38 Sure. In one cutscene Lillith claims she isn't here to rescue humanity, but to empower it. That will ultimately result in "weak" being eliminated, as displayed by a "weak" human being eaten alive by hounds, to indifference from both Lillith an Elias. That all after humanity is still recovering from Maltahel's reapers invasion, so humanity is already struggling to survive. Aside from that, Lillith will obey her nature in the end.
@@yulfine1688 In the end, what she wants isn't so different from Prime Evils. They ALSO wanted to use humanity to end etenral conflict, after all. I generally prefer to judge Lillith by what she does and how her actions affect humanity, and what she does isn't pretty, nor humane, nor good.

I have no hope for the plot, Neyrelle is just stupid addition. She's making stupid teen decisions, but somehow shits out horadrim magic better than old horadrims that have studied it for decades.
Diablo 2 sees The Wanderer painfully transform into Diablo Diablo 3 sees Leah transform into Diablo Somehow I don't think Neyrelle is going to end happily on a farm
Knowing Blizzard DEI? She will survive and be better for it *Palworld comes out. Can't sue them. Quickly creates a new patent AFTER Palworld comes out..... Then sues them for infringing on their patent that didn't exist when the game came out. PROFIT*
The campaign is actually strong in D4. Best of any of the Diablo games, and might be best in the genre. It certainly is in presentation (cut scenes, VO, etc.). I hope the expansions adds a goodly chunk of story.
@@julianmonakian Our character is absolutely the protagonist in D4. We drive everything forward and accomplish everything, Neyrelle hardly qualifies as a side character let alone a main character or protagonist in the grand scope of the overall campaign. This doesn't really change in the expansion. If anything she's an antagonist as she goes against what the obvious main character intends and makes us work to correct things.
I think if they want group or party play, they should give us ACTUAL buffs for gear or incentivize the play. Buffing enemy health really doesn't solve anything, when all enemy health can be Tiered properly with higher tier play upping drop rates for stronger gear.. At this point, there is literally no benefiting reason other than boss rotations, to play with other people. Sure playing with friends or others can be fun, but when you face monsters with buffed health and get NOTHING in return, what's the fucking point? I average more aether solo than being in a party on Infernal Horde (that's with bad Event rolls; yet another thing we get penalized on lol). Ridiculous. Why make a multiplayer game then penalize people for playing multiplayer? More health or tougher enemies? Higher drop rate. Literally just tier and apply the mechanics of Boss arenas to the rest of the game. And maybe give us something other than Pit push for true endgame or up the gear drop percentage. STOP GIVING US TRASH.. lol
It's like the nemesis system all over again. I refused to buy that game and I won't buy Nintendo stuff now. As a consumer, I just feel like I would be making gaming worse by supporting a company. That acts like Warner bros does and honestly. That's the only way they will understand. Took blizzard a long time to realise this, shadowlands is kinda where I said no more and blizzard listened to the player base. Now they have frankly turned a leaf.
I can only hope Neyrelle will pass away in one of the very first missions. ...but I feel like what will end up happening is she's going to be the host body for Mephisto.
I have a bad feeling she will fight it and be the strong independent woman games are trying to promote so much of. Just not mary sue like they’ve been doing, making her struggle a bit.
They really should just create an ultimate evil and call it "Blizmodanious". It's powers can be to have a huge build up and then get one shotted, but it still wins by lagging you out to the log-in screen.
It has become a cycle. The first 3 heroes from D1 got corrupted and you fight them in D2. In D3 Adria was corrupted as well. And now in D4 it's Neyrelle.
How about instead of 'avoiding calling them numbered seasons to make people not feel like they missed out', you create them in a way where.. you dont.. miss out? "Pretend a problem isnt a problem"
Instead of a new expansion, I would have liked to see Blizzard work on the horrible dungeon design, poor game mechanics, and the input controls lag. You can add all of the content you want to a game that is not fun to play and it still remains a game that is not fun to play.
My second greatest fear is Blizzard releases 1 (or 2) premium priced expansions every year. The avarice of Microsoft is boundless. My greatest fear is the expansions suck.
"They claim that if Lilith had succeeded, we'd all be damned. Citation needed." Well, there's two ways to look at that statement as true without any corroboration. We can assume that statement is just Lorath's opinion, since he's the one narrating. Lorath has shown faulty judgement in the base game and this can just be more of that. Or we can assume that Lilith draining Mephisto's power into herself will end up an amalgamation of the two demons that is mostly Mephisto, since he's the greater entity. And then it will just be Mephisto unleashed upon the world in Lilith's form.
So how does that work? Can Nintendo make a patent for something AFTER a game has been released and then sue a game that has that feature before that patent was granted? Because that makes zero sense. Everyone and his mother knows Palworld is older than that patent, I don't think that can hold in court.
Pokemon vs Palworld: If that's the case, that is extremely scummy. I already don't support either Nintendo or Pokemon, but man, that would definitely make me stop if I was.
I think Square Enix is living in the past. They might scale profit expectations based on the whole gaming market. But people who goon over Final fantasy releases are mostly the boomer generation, not the generation who is generating the most profit in the whole gaming industry.
Spoilers of D4 shit ending: Her taking the soulstone and leaving alone was character assassination and franchise milking. She was a scholar who knew past mistakes of traveling alone with soulstone = new forehead piercing. So what does she do? The same thing. It's not the fact someone stole the soulstone that is so moronic. It's that she is the one who did it. Diablo 4 might as well not exist, the only impactful thing that happened was that Inarius died. That's it. Complete contrast of previous titles that all had world changing things happening and impacting the future of the world. This is even disregarding how choosing Mephisto over Lilith was insanely dumb to begin with. "Oh let's chose the dude we know is completely and uterly evil over someone who is evil but doesn't actually want humanity dead as they are her children and she has protected us before by killing her allies". As such I have 0 expectations of the expansion being any good.
1. Neyrelle will sacrifice herself to rebirth Lilith for the plot macguffin 2. Square Enix messed up by making Cloud into a fem boy, he just doesnt look like that in the original. Not in battle, cutscenes or game artwork.
Neyrelle does not trust us she said several during the campaign. Also killed her mother. Remember we made the choice to clean up the mess that campaign left season themes, which got lost with all other drama. Neyrelle thought this was a foolish decision and left.
The lack of character agency is an issue with D4 story telling. Get two or three dialog options that for most part do not effect the outcomes rarely effect dialog. The response choices we were given were either stay or wait till morning to decide. Either way we get the note not to follow.
Pokemon vs PalWorld - Ever heard of rope-a-dope? This is a retro-active patent, and is at risk of being ruled invalid. Nintendo will use this lawsuit to bridge the gap to copyright infringement. "Look how much of our patents they used - and the art ...." Hopefully Microsoft steps up and tells Nintendo they are filing a countersuit - and seeking to reduce length of gameplay mechanics patents to 5 years. Nintendo and other game companies are smothering the game industry and innovation with gameplay patents.

Hey Blizzard, if you really want this game to last many years, and you can get over the idea you have to charge for *everything*, accommodate the modders. Mods extended my interest in D2 for years.
About Helldivers 2: yes I want to play it again, I just don't have time, space marine 2, Satisfactory 1.0, Frostpunk 2, and just Genshin in general makes it difficult.
ok so. My Theory is that i don't think Neyrelle is gonna get corrupted or like some old warrior dude that took the soulstone and socketed on hes forehead... We saw one of the mythic unique that increases the dmg against " Angels" and on Neyrelle's Lament there was a moment that either Neyrelle-Mephisto or Neyrelle-"The female Archangel which i forgor her name" spoke. I wonder if the end boss would be an archangel instead of mephisto and then "Gates of Heaven Opens". Foreshadowing next angel theme expansion.
Helldivers 2: I think the content patch also did nothing because the content all starts feeling the same. Sure, different color, different enemy skin. But most missions you just avoid enemies and run based on minimap tithe next button you need to click. I think if they clean up the UI so more people actually know what type of missions they can play, and have a bigger focus on the castle defend missions, the game would pick up big time again
I dunno. Bought d4 when it was on "please buy me, I beg of you" sale and will NOT buy this garbage. Game has been out for how long and does anyone know when DIABLO will start Diablo'ing????

To be fair, the biggest flop in video game history is Star Citizen - it's beyond 700 million US dollars now and still no game. At least Concord had a finished game.
FF7 is a strange duck. It is one of the best games ever almost finished. So far 2/3 of the games are released. They make us wait a yearish for the PC release. When the game first came out I said I was going to wait until the game was done and released on PC. I want to play this game, but I want to play it when it's done. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I don't know for sure how much that's impacting their potential early profits, but the combined edition when it's all done won't do super good either because it will primarily target people like me. Everyone else who already bought the games already have them, they don't need to buy them again. They split their purchasing audience and then cried that each segment wasn't as large as the whole buying group.

@@Motgenror bad plot, written by amateurs with no clear vision
AI can write a better story
Also, it is most natural to assume the child is being influenced a lord of hell. It would be surprising if she managed to retain agency
Nintendo shouldn't have been issued a patent for something that they have long since released and which has long since been copied.

As far as I’m concerned, the story continuation is “there’s more demons and other assorted baddies down south, let’s go kill all of them”
Nintendo is such a bizarre company.

Noooooo nooo nooooooo. Voodoo and what the spirit born are in lore and world is completely different my friend.
honestly, "villain does something evil to protect the world from greater evil she was formerly aligned with" isn't that just the plot to Destiny 2: The Witch Queen?
Nobody is willing to lean into actual evil that believes in its self. Real evil only does a little good to make sure it can do evil better in the shadows. Evil. Don’t be good!😭
I started playing Diablo in 1996. I put 1,000s of hours into Diablo 3, yet, for some reason, Diablo 4 turned me off at launch and I didn't get into it until Season 5 a little over a month ago..
I still can't explain why, but I absolutely love it now.
I've pre-ordered Vessel of Hatred's Ultimate Edition and can't wait for launch. 👍
My hope for Nyrelle is that she doesn't get the same shaft as Leah. I hope she is just idealistic and remains an ally.
That's not really how Sanctuary works (or has worked in the past). The subtitle for Diablo games should be, "This is why we can't have nice things" but they probably think that would be too many words.
I’m sick of her 😂
Lilith was the good guy, nothing will change my mind.
But she's a girl, she can't be a good guy
I fully agree. But Mephisto is my favorite of the 7 Evils so I am rooting for him.
Yes. So silly to get rid of her so soon
Not even close but sure buddy
They’re all bad. Humanity will have to develop the means to save itself.
It's funny that right when Rhykker warns of story spoilers incoming and to use the link below, RUclips decided that was the perfect time for an ad.
Plot twist enter Leah from D3 to teach Nyrel how to control the soul stone. Much like Adrea taught her and Nyrel becomes the new body for Mephisto
The burned knights will turn to be the next expansions holy knight class toon. They have to do it.
Not a neyrelle fan. Hope they omit her from the story as much as possible
Yes she's doing so to end the war finally that was always her plan same for inarius technically..
Nintendo wanted Palworld to make a bunch of $$$ first so they could take it from them.
*sigh* AGAIN spirit realm was found by Rathma with the help of Tra'Goul. Necros were using the spirit realm long before AKARAT was forced out of the womb. Why is this sooo hard for people?
I have no hope for the plot, Neyrelle is just stupid addition. She's making stupid teen decisions, but somehow shits out horadrim magic better than old horadrims that have studied it for decades.
Regular writing for hollywood and the gaming industries in the last years sadly...
I and my friends agree, and after the camPAIN they quit. I had hope for the game but not to the story.
Is it any dumber than Tyrael literally sending Marius on a quest he was clearly going to fail at.
Did you even play the game? Lmao, what a clown. Tell me a single thing Neyrelle did that makes you lose hope for the plot.

The issue with Concord can not be laid at the feet of the game director. He was taking orders from suits.
Nintendo filing a patent long AFTER Pal World was released should get them thrown out immediately.
The campaign is actually strong in D4. Best of any of the Diablo games, and might be best in the genre. It certainly is in presentation (cut scenes, VO, etc.).
I hope the expansions adds a goodly chunk of story.
It sounds like concord suffered from the same culture of toxic positivity that doomed Mass Effect Andromeda.
Maybe next time can we have a Male protagonist?. It would be a Nice change of pace since 2004

@@ferrite1707 do You feel tje protagonist of this story?
@@julianmonakian Our character is absolutely the protagonist in D4. We drive everything forward and accomplish everything, Neyrelle hardly qualifies as a side character let alone a main character or protagonist in the grand scope of the overall campaign. This doesn't really change in the expansion. If anything she's an antagonist as she goes against what the obvious main character intends and makes us work to correct things.
@@Insanati nah... You are the generic dude that kills things. The story drives around You.
There is no Diablo news without Rhykker.
I can only hope Neyrelle will pass away in one of the very first missions.
...but I feel like what will end up happening is she's going to be the host body for Mephisto.
I hope so but I think we will have to help her a lot till she became fully corrupted
I have a bad feeling she will fight it and be the strong independent woman games are trying to promote so much of. Just not mary sue like they’ve been doing, making her struggle a bit.
No shit!
😂 man I’m so sick of her
I dont get how they can sue paleorld but not Digimon
They really should just create an ultimate evil and call it "Blizmodanious". It's powers can be to have a huge build up and then get one shotted, but it still wins by lagging you out to the log-in screen.
When was this latest HDII patch release? I played 2 days ago after taking a long break and there were SO few players online...
I find it to believe that any court regardless of the country will up hold a patent when it was filed AFTER the fact the game came out.
Blizzard is the main villain of their own game actually.
Hey Rhykker, I know you get a lot of questions, but how did you build your website?
As a big lore enjoyer, I really appreciate the spoiler warning
Yeah but not using season numbers doesn't resolve the FOMO....kind of a really shit excuse.
So how does that work? Can Nintendo make a patent for something AFTER a game has been released and then sue a game that has that feature before that patent was granted? Because that makes zero sense. Everyone and his mother knows Palworld is older than that patent, I don't think that can hold in court.
Don't forget that concord cost $400m, and this is what they did with it.
Neyrelle is giving me the same vibes as Leah from D3.
Yes. Boring already seen and predictable vibes
Except if she dies, it wouldn’t bother me as much as it did when Leah merged with Diablo and simply vanished.

They might scale profit expectations based on the whole gaming market. But people who goon over Final fantasy releases are mostly the boomer generation, not the generation who is generating the most profit in the whole gaming industry.
I dabbled from season 1-4
Season 5 is when I really hunkered down and made D4 my main game.
*****Plot Twist***** Neyrelle disappears only to be replaced by Leah from D3.
Yo CJ, your website might need some updates sometime before the expansion launches.
Nintendo would rather spend time and money on suing Palworld then actually create a good pokemon game
Spoilers of D4 shit ending:
Her taking the soulstone and leaving alone was character assassination and franchise milking.
I wish I could fight against Spiritbornes as a Burning Knight
1. Neyrelle will sacrifice herself to rebirth Lilith for the plot macguffin 2. Square Enix messed up by making Cloud into a fem boy, he just doesnt look like that in the original. Not in battle, cutscenes or game artwork.
Neyrelle's fate is to sell microtransactions for all eternity.
I'm playing from season 2 and would love to see season of comebacks. It would be fun to replay (even just for one season) each seasonal storyline. 😊
Neyrelle does not trust us she said several during the campaign. Also killed her mother. Remember we made the choice to clean up the mess that campaign left season themes, which got lost with all other drama. Neyrelle thought this was a foolish decision and left.
What? Choice?
The lack of character agency is an issue with D4 story telling. Get two or three dialog options that for most part do not effect the outcomes rarely effect dialog. The response choices we were given were either stay or wait till morning to decide. Either way we get the note not to follow.
Pokemon vs PalWorld - Ever heard of rope-a-dope? This is a retro-active patent, and is at risk of being ruled invalid. Nintendo will use this lawsuit to bridge the gap to copyright infringement. "Look how much of our patents they used - and the art ...."
Hopefully Microsoft steps up and tells Nintendo they are filing a countersuit - and seeking to reduce length of gameplay mechanics patents to 5 years.

Watch me Ney. Watch me Neyrelle.
Final fantasy has been play station exclusive for years. As far as I’m concerned. It no longer exists.
Why does the character in the video have wings? Did Blizzard not say they will not add wings because they wanted more realism?
I dunno. Bought d4 when it was on "please buy me, I beg of you" sale and will NOT buy this garbage. Game has been out for how long and does anyone know when DIABLO will start Diablo'ing????
and FF VII rebirth was a train wreck (if you look at what they THOUGHT it was going to do) because at this point, it isn't even an FF VII 'remake'.... it's like, FF VII ClownWorld with a total disregard for the original key factors that kept the OG on such a high pedestal for decades
I'm going to miss my undead doggo.
To be fair, the biggest flop in video game history is Star Citizen - it's beyond 700 million US dollars now and still no game. At least Concord had a finished game.
Your HD2 info is a bit off. We, as players, die faster than ever with the new patch.
Real villain....unmasked.....Joe Shely, honestly tho these whole "trapping them in soulstones" thing is just getting old, seems it fails every single time. Should have let the player chose a side, would have been far better
