    The old Blizzard North members that created Flagship. They did make a FPS Diablo style game. It is called Hell Gate London. All looter shooters can thank them for the genre. From what I've seen.

      @@pokermitten9795 It was generally not that well received, though it had some cool ideas. If I remember correctly it also wasn't exclusively first person, but a weird mix of 1st and 3rd person mechanics. But my memories are quite foggy. Check it out by all means. If anything, it had some really cool cinematics :D

      One of my alltime favorite games. Love that one. Some of the original devs are at the works on a successor called Hellgate: Redemption. It'll take a while though.

    Blizzard needs to introduce more secret finds like Zelda. The first time when you discovered a hidden heart it was like magic (NES), an unassuming lever, the dead ends or unexpected cave find but make them 100% accidental and non obvious and most importantly, RANDOM but it must always be some action that caused the find. This will boost replay value 100% as everytime you play you might discover a hidden Sparke, a Mythic, a 4 GA item, or re-tempering scroll. There's always some excitement looming in the air. Think how much fun would that be!

      First time I found one of the "buffs" in PoE lab was an amazing feeling for me. I could see how having stuff like that in dungeons would be nice.

      @@Adepth7 this for sure! inside diablo 4 they can add it as endgame dundeos persistent rogue lite!!! almost there with the Hordes... but unfortunately they chosen it to be an arena... Diablo Immortal has a roguelite mode there!

    About white and blue items, I really miss when in Diablo 2 you changed your difficult, and the first items you found outside The Rouge Encampment (White and blue) where way better than the ones you had, after finishing the previous difficulty.

      Honestly, it would be nice if there was any regularity of white and blue gear. After lvl 10 it's almost exclusively yellow and orange.

      Only white and blue should be allowed Runes. The runeword gives you the function, and makes it grey, like in d2.
      Then you can craft specific enchants on it at the enchanter + masterwork.

      The developer is _absolutely_ to blame for this abortion. They spent over a year bragging about how much DEI was going to be injected into the game that it guaranteed _no one_ was going to be interested. All these companies can push diversity all they want, but they just can't seem to grasp that the SJW crowd does _NOT_ play video games. It's monumentally stupid to shape your product around a consumer that would never buy your product to begin with. It's like designing a fridge for f*cking eskimos, then crying about how toxic the community is when it doesn't sell.

    When you talk about the removal of the Capstones -- It could be kinda cool if they make Pit Tiers 20, 35, 50 and 65 a little more unique (at least the first time you complete them), and could give them unique bosses, etc..

    As far as solving for armor and resistance goes most players don’t want things to solve. I’ve noticed Rax has been using that word frequently. Most streamers just seem to want the game to be some kind of puzzle they can spend thousands of hours trying to dissect. I’m not sure top down hack and slash games are meant to be or should be that complicated. If people want to min max, grind endlessly, or make spread sheets and geek out on the numbers that’s fine for some people but you don’t want the game to steer you that direction.

      Yes, you need to make a game to steer that direction, cuz otherwise you losing interest in a season 2 days after release.
      Season 5 I made 2 class to level 100 and beat horde tier8 in 5 days. And I did not trade anything, not even duriel and andariel mats. What's good in this?

    Helldivers 2 did wrong what D4 2.0 is doing right. The constant nerfs meant that casual players, especially when playing with fewer players, get gated out of farming the highest resources/unlocks.
    It should be like Torment I, able to get everything, just slower/less efficient.

      Also they're adding more transmogs and such with the coop dungeon, its not a raid its like a 4 man wow or ff14 dungeon but a bit more complex.

      Also, there isn't one single transmog for the Barbarian that's 100% armor that covers his whole body. Necros and sorcerers get that, but not Barbarian. That's not fine. At least from the point of view of peole who don't like stinky things to eat.

    i would love to see the capstone dungeons come back as an endgame activity. they need to make the penitent difficulty open to level 1. to help with resist and armor in torment 3-4, i think it would be cool if they added oils like Grim Dawn that you can apply to armor/weapons. i would have them locked behind renown & can have better tiers of oils at higher renown levels. split up resist types types in different zones, so you dont have to do all of them, can focus on ones you want/need could also add not only resist/armor, but maybe minor damage types to some oils.
    one of the reasons i like grim dawn a lot is that you have extra ways to add resist armor instead of having it only on gear. components/oils/constellations... oils with resist/armor/damage combos spread around the 6 zones as renown vendors could be nice

    My biggest complaint about the PTR build is that it takes so much longer to get to having items with 2 tempers on them. I dont mind that GA items are low drop until you are rocking the highest difficulty stuff, but the tempers are sometimes make or break for some builds. It feels really bad only having 1 temper slot on my legendary items before i get Ancestrals that actually work for me. This is probably a change that is more impactful for people who play off-meta builds like me.

      Yes. My wonky dash rogue I was playing on live has migrated to a much more meta build on PTR since it's gimped by one temper on most of my gear.

    So, here's the thing about an FPS Diablo game. I don't think there is any reason it _can't_ work, as long as it isn't a replacement for the isometric dungeon-crawler for the main series. I actually think the world of Sanctuary has a rich enough lore that it could support several types of game play. I for one would really love a 3rd person RPG set during The Sin War. As long as the main series stays true to the existing design language, I'm happy to see other forays into world.

    - base stats only
    - use for crafting Mythic
    Magic (Blue)
    - 1-2 modifier
    - higher roll than Yellow
    - use for crafting Mythic
    Rare (Yellow):

    - upgradable to legendary
    Legendary (orange):

    - Upgrade Rare (yellow) by adding legendary Power
    - adds 1 random modifier
    Crafting Mythic (Purple)
    - Crafted from Basic (white) and 3 Magic (Blues)
    - crafted mythic has random mythic power, use 1 white as the base stat, and random 3-5 modifiers from 3 blues offered.
    Suffix:
    Superior - white with high/max roll base stats
    Blessed - blues with at least 1 max roll (modifiers)
    Sacred - yellow/legandary/mythic with at least 1 max roll (modifier)

    Bricking an item is not the issue. The issue is that the bricking outcome is left to chance. As an example: in D2, bricking an item with the wrong gem that you can't unsocket and assembling wrong the rune words, was made by the players choices and mistakes. It still sucks, but you learn and get better with the next one. With chance, you just wait and see your if your item goes to the crapper. That's why bricking an item is bad and frustrating in D4.

    I still think D2 had some great things about magic and rare items. Some rolls can only occur on magic items. This is cool for edge builds that have niche requirements, it would be really cool if magic items dropped with less total affixes, but could have a higher possible roll on them. Then you could use them for crafting very specific edge piece items that could possibly take you to the next level in the area that you need, and might even be the best in slot for a given build. Do the same thing with rare items but scaled down a bit less cuz they can have an additional affix, OR allow us some way to craft greater affixes on to rare items only.

      I don't think end game builds should use blues, but I do think we shouldn't be jumping to the last tiers of loot right off the bat. I almost think that each difficulty should unlock a new possible gear tier.

      @@dredgendorchadas6770 the idea would be that extremely rare blue items can drop with the highest rolls on affixes but only have one affix. Then you can print your aspect on it. This might enable some interesting break points for only very specific builds

    They can solve the blue/yellow being worthless the same way they did in D2. They have less stats, but the stats have higher ranges they can roll. Think 3/20 gloves, FHR/3os helms, etc. This gives us an interesting tradeoff where we're choosing less mods on an item, in exchange for higher tier rolls.

    Smaller numbers make additive bonuses viable, or at least comparable to multipliers
    If and when numbers are in 6 digits, there's no point in additions, just more multipliers
    That was the whole point of the stat squish

    I totally agree- the challenge of the capstone dungeons and the power burst afterwards because of the better equipment in the next difficulty is one of my favorite things about leveling a new character

    The one thing that concerns me about the lower ancestral drop rates are that it might make it harder to salvage an item for the aspect since they are so rare and valuable. I wonder if the option of getting ancestries through the alchemist before level 20 is still going to be a thing

    20:00 - re: unannounced RGPFPS - I'd bet money it's in the SC universe. They had a ton of idea with the Nova project that got cancelled. The universe is enormous. FPS fits extremely well in that IP's universe. And yes, I'm biased. I'm a long-time SC player as well as a former Diablo player. I would love to see Helldiver in the SC universe.

    The difficulties that classes can start at in the new patch will show us exactly how good each class is. I expect the Barb and Drood to be stuck at starting with Normal, and the Rogue jumping directly to Expert, and the rest hovering between Hard and Expert.

    This is what you do you make blues and yellows sockatable. You allow them to have different numbers of sockets from 2 to 4. You then allow the runewords to be at least a little bit worse or close to what a mythic unique is. And make the chase for getting all of the correct little runes the end game. Basically make Diablo 2 runewords.

    Sadly Tyreals Might solves all the resistance issues for Tor4, sadly every build will work that in because of it. As for Armour requirements for Tor4 all you need is 1 item with GA armor and you will max it out once you have MW'd gear. I was setting a little over 1300 on T4 once my gear was MW'd last night. As far as the drop rate for Ancestral goes, it is still way to low. In the live server, I am getting around 70+- GA items a hour farming HT and Boss runs. On the PTR just farming HT I was getting maybe 5 ancestrals a hour. I decided to farm up some Duriel and he dropped 5 unique items and 2 were GA/Ancestral.
    In the current game by 1-2 hour in WT 4 I have full ancestral with the right stats/temperings. Then the hunt begins for perfect rolls. If the PTR drop rate goes forward as is, It will take 50+ hours to get full ancestral. and even then you might not have the right stats on them but you will be forced to take them for the dual temperings. They need to either reduce how powerful the temperings are or raise the drop rate of Ancestral because of the temperings' current power.

    Limiting difficult access for characters that doesn’t have enough power is actually good, because when you are on T3 or T4 you will not have players to carry them on, like in public events or world bosses.. dragging you down

    Also the number squish is the biggest issue since Diablo 3. You can't balance anything properly with those numbers. That's why you either go unharmed or you get one-shot (meaning you also get 1684164 hits in 0,5 second) in high level stuff. Also why you immediately clean everything in dungeons extermely fast, then spend 100 minutes hitting the boss.
    It's still a big problem. From Rax' video he deals 30 million while those wolf rune pets deal 6k. Exactly the same problems as Diablo 3.

      There's a difference between non perfect balance or balance within a certain vision of direction
      It's totally another to drop the ball completely and end in a no-man's land where one thing does 1000x damage (or in this case roughly 1.6k*) compared to another
      The whole point of stat squish was not to allow that happen

      Ahh, i see we are pretending like what Raxx is doing is a valid problem for most players. 80%+ of the player base will not be doing the same amount of damage. However 100% of the player base will have access to the majority of these runes.

    As someone that loves horses IRL, the mount-based loading screen is a nice QOL change. But I pretty much just leave the horse with just a saddle, saddle blanket and reins so I can actually see the horse and. I don't care about the trophy/armours. So, I don't think their intended effect is working with me. 🤣

    Getting a "Dark Souls" like Diablo game would be excellent. I mean, the lore and world are already built like one. It would be cool to see it like a "gauntlet" game when you choose your class and gear it out like Dark Souls. I don't think people would mind if it was a paste Dark Souls game.

    I don’t have a problem with the stat squish. The problem I have is that for my eternal characters, I will have to refarm all of my gear including mythic uniques because they will be marked as legacy items and won’t be the highest item power. I shouldn’t have to do that for my eternal characters.

    I remember a content creator complaining about numbers and he said along the lines of when you do trillions of damage and get a 10% increase you don't feel it and i'm like wth, yes you do, precisely at a 10% rate too. It's just perception nonsense to be honest. Sure crunch the numbers as much as possible to simplify things but it's very very minor QOL.

    It is possible that they gated the difficulties to prevent people from getting carried into higher difficulties. The Capstone Dungeons were too easy to get carried through.

    I love helldivers 2, just needs more gameplay variety. One big thing that "bugs" me is there's no underground sections. Why am I not going down into bug tunnels? The maps need more verticality.

    I wouldn’t mind a blue sword like back in the da but since it doesn’t have many stars but say a weapon might have an astronomical single star where u might sit there and take the downside for huge power but that would mean there would be solutions on other pieces to shore that up and that seems a bit complex for the devs to tackle. CCBQ back in the day was rather dope but we did have the chance to find those with 6OS to scale damage even further.

    Not saying it is this, but to answer the question, it's (unfortunately) common for greedy companies to dismantle teams for projects, only to hire a whole other team so they can pay people to do more for less money. They raise the job requirements while simultaneously offering less. Lots of companies seem to do it to force people into situations of desperation.
    I have 2 examples below:
    I was with a girl for a while that was a hiring manager for a large company that worked doing a lot of legal and government work, and we saw it time and time again. She would complain that they just fired everyone in that department, only to post they need to open those departments again, but each time, the requirements grew and the pay diminished. My sister also worked for 2 large gaming companies that did this same practice. We spent plenty of time lamenting the horrible effects greed has on people's lives.

    Blue items could be useful if they make the posibility of the two stats to be very strong. Lets say you get a blue armor that says + 40% lucky hit and 15% damage reduction. Then the blue item might be usable in some cases if you have less lucky hit and damage reduction from before. Uniques and legendaries still got better potensial in overall, but a buffed blue item with two high stats might tempt some people to use it temporary until they get stronger items with more affixes and that are stronger in overall.

    I personnaly stopped playing helldivers 2 because my coop partner's computer blew up, and having no intention of playing solo I decided to not play anymore.
    I'd take a look into it if he gets a new computer capable of handling the game, to take a look at all the new events and difficulties. Anyway, the game was awesome while it lasted, and I'll always keep a good memory of it!

    The thing I find with blues and yellow late game sense I don’t buy or sell any items is that I use blue and yellow to sell and only salvage legendary to keep on ongoing gold supply. So if they make it just materials instead of blue and yellow drops that takes away from my gold supply. I know I have buddies that play differently and salvage all of theirs so yes it is annoying to have that “chore” and it does take up inventory space but I don’t see an easy fix to having the option for materials vs gold with those useless items.

    Oh they really need to unlock those Pit levels. They said they wanted players to be able to opt for their own difficulty experience and that's truly the biggest factor to my personal enjoyment of D4 over other ARPG's.
    Either unlock it to the max level for your current world tier, or bump up the cap of new pit level unlocks to something like 10 or more rather than the current 3.

    Paragon 300 will be quickly reached - meaning the whole 'i have something to play for' will be gone quickly - for ALL chars as the levels are shared.

    So perhaps the key is used to unlock that house in fractured peaks. It’s on the east side, i think, and is designed in a way that seems like it’s meant for something more.

    I wonder if that project is Blizzard's answer/reimagining of Dark and Darker. Its a dope gameplay loop and could fit RPG elements & the addition of an open world would be amazing. Proximity based PVPVE is a genre relatively untouched by a big studio. So money is there if they apply a Sanctuary vision imo. Helldivers on the death knell is also an opportunity to take advantage of. Dunno - Interested to see what comes of it.

    The stat squishy is probably one of the things I'm mostly excited about. It always bothered me the massive numbers in Diablo III that would hit in the billions. Numbers that big just cluttered the screen and didn't really impressive. When you mostly deal damage in the single digits and suddenly crits in the triple digits it feels way more impressive.

    This "C-Shaped" key is a random key look. You find them in NMD before opening gates and doors. Check the quest Item tap to see the look of the key. It's random, at least at this point.

    I stopped playing Helldivers 2 when they removed 3/4ths of the PC playerbase over the PSN account linking issue. They got rid of the account linking requirement but did not let those players return to the game, so I haven't returned to the game either.

    That little number next to our name (your level) should always maintain that feeling of pride. Rushing xp to get to 100, then everyone is walking around with 100 does not help set you apart from the crowd. So here is my solution...
    At lvl 90 your character becomes maxed out. While getting to 90 isnt terribly difficult, getting the last 10 lvls would be. The reward to get those last 10 lvls? Inventory space. You gain 5 extra item slots per lvl in your stash.
    To give opinion on the item drops. Make 3 tier lvls in the game. Tier 1 drops only normal items, with a rare chance to drop a magical. Tier 2 only drops magical items, with a rare chance to drop legendary. And tier 3 only drops legendary items with a chance at a mythical. If course you dont want to overload the amount of total item drops, like you had talked about. So increase slightly the rate at better gear, and just drop the salvage materials.
    And since i am already giving my opinion i will continue on. They either allow us to have more character slots (currently 12) to something like 50. Or which would be the better solution. Allow us to easily switch between builds, for free. Example. Today i have a lightning spear sorc, but tomorrow i want to play my fireball or meteor sorc build. Instead of having to redo the skill tree, paragon board, and swap gear out. I just go to my wardrobe, or whatever they want to make for this. And just 1 click i fully change my preloaded buildout. Because in that slot for the fireball i have already built it out and the gear can be saved inside of that preload. Of course they have to allow the gear to be utilized on other builds as well. For the case in point of the uber rare mythics we might have and need to utilize elsewhere.
    I am ok with the bricking of an item on tempering. But they should allow more rolls. Or maybe make it so you lockin the roll you just got, but want to spend the rest of your rolls trying to make that value better, with the downside that it could get worse. I literally rolled 6 times in a row the smoke grenade on my andys rogue. That was some bad rng! So for example if im trying roll freeze, and get it on my 2rd attempt. I could lockin freeze. But since the value rolled minimal i could take a chance at a higher value without losing my freeze. Or the value could potentially be worse.

      Gatekeeping stash tabs behind a weeks long lvl 100 grind would be Blizzard's least popular idea of all time.
      I agree, worthless items just shouldn't drop. Turn them into materials at higher difficulties.
      Loadouts are already in the table, they just aren't here yet.
      Bricking is totally fine imo. I farm up 3 items, brick 1, succeed on the second. I roll the 3rd anyways just to see if I can get higher rolls.
      I do think scrolls of re-tempering should be very rare, but should also be usable on the same item an unlimited amount of times.you could send a 3GA wand from your sorc to your necro and just re-temper it. Or send a sword with max life and crit dmg GA'd between all of your alts and just re-temper them and enchant the 3rd affix to the primary stat of whatever class you're using. It'll feel really nice, and having that item drop would be an overjoyous moment.

    I hope the season 6 seasonal trasnmog looks good, other than that I'm pretty happy over all with the progression of the gam, I agree with the needless gatekeeping in the pit have to incrementally progress rather then being able to go from "way point to way point got difficulty tiers.
    I was progressing to torment III and had to clear a 4-6 different pits to get access to tier 50 which was easy just inefficient time investment.

    Dude could you imagine Starcraft as an open world FTPSRPG with one click of a button that takes the player into ARPG camera angles.
    That is like two versions of the game in one.
    Have you ever played elder scrolls online in first person?
    Completely new game.
    Seeing starcraft change into something like that with all the lore to back it up would be nuts.

    StarCraft being an FPS and that not being popular… this same or similar thought was given to turn based mechanics and yet, BG3 showed that there can always be a massive resurgence if the product is done with top talent who actually give a darn and are filled with pride and joy to make such product. Bring to the people a FPS of BG3 quality and the players will come. My thoughts at least.

    What do you mean it's easier to read damage numbers?! We're still seeing them stacked on top of eachother on 20 layers. Doesn't matter if its 1 billion or 1 million when the screen looks like someone took Microsoft Paint's Airbrush tool and sprayed yellow over and over again.

    on the UI, they should have level 60 on the left side, and paragon level on the right side by the right globe...only showing paragon 200 plus on the left side is not very intuitive.

    FF Cerberus was a great game, played as FF7s Vincent and was full FPS with gun upgrades to change it to different types of weapons. For PS2 it did things.

    I hate the incremental steps in pits (like D3 greater rifts). Just let us learn the hard way with trial and error or give us the next 10 levels each time instead of 3-4.

    I'm on the same page as you about Helldivers 2. I had a lot of fun for more than 100 hours, but I don't feel the motivation to come back. I played many similar games in the past and I still come back to them from time to time even if they don't have any big updates: Vermintide 2, Darktide, Killing Floor 2 etc. ArrowHead nerfed the fun out of the game, there are many bugs since the launch and it's probably the worst optimized game I've ever played, I can run any new game in 120+ FPS on max settings, but I am dropping below 60 FPS in Helldivers 2 even on Low settings. It also doesn't help when the PSN restrictions are still there, I have a friend from Egypt that wanted to play with me, but he can't buy it anymore.

    For me to come back to helldivers 2 it needs to be in a stable position where the majority of people are not complaining about the balance, and the balancing team isn't just suddenly gutting weapons completely without warning, they need to learn that if you have one overused weapon you need to make sure that weapon is actually too good and not just very fun to use before you nerf it, honestly the biggest problem for me is how negative the community is, I can't deal with that anymore.

    It's gonna be one of two things which is either its a Starcraft RPG FPS or the more likely answer is they are repurposing all the work they did on the Survival FPS and turning it in to a RPG FPS. This is what they did with Project Titan and given both games had YEARS of work then repurposing it makes more sense then leaving all those assets, lore, characters etc to die.

    I wish the characters werent fixed to a class. Like you can make the necromancer character design into a barbarian or a sorcerer and really change his look. Imagine a barbarian body type sorcerer lol

    I have to disagree in one point😅 I actually DO think that the extra paragon levels COULD give you a huge boost taking into consideration, that the boards and glyphs have been reworked also especially by range. I could see glyphs which give you x amount of x (damage, defense aso…) for each like int or wisdom aso in range
