Yeah just think you could buy a Early Access game for that much on steam like palworld even though it might not be your type of game it's just an example a lot more content is packed in that then a measly cosmetic but then again how much development in time does it take to make these Diablo 4 cosmetics
I agree i think theyd make more money by making them 15$ and having their customer base widened by the reduced price. Or just have regular sales on select skin bundles that you can "wishlist" like steam does
Who cares, you gain nothing from the in game shop. Are you really butthurt it’s too expensive to play dress up with your character like a little girl with Barbie dolls lmfao.
If instead of 2800 Platinum for a set on the store, it costed around 300-500 platinum, I bet they would end up earning more since that is not that much money for us ($3 - $5 per set) and more players will end up purchasing that by saying "It's just 3 bucks" instead of "Damn! 28 dollars for a set? fu** that!"
Agreed. Granted, I've bought a couple costumes that I really, really like for my main class. But if those things were in the $3-5 price range instead of the $18-28 price range, I'd probably just buy out everything in there.
I’m sure you, random commenter who has zero experience in this business know what would make blizzard more money not the board members and peoples who’s entire job is to make more money. It’s crazy you people really think you know better than the people who have been making the company billions of dollars lmfao. I guarantee you your idea would result in less revenue. There’s a reason they’re running the company and you’re commenting on a RUclips video.

No, that's not how it works. That's feels right, but it is not. If you go into the stats and psychology behind the price formation, the high price is actually the way to go. In general very small percentage of players ever pay. However they pay a lot. This is an oversimplification, but that's basically it.
I still dont understand how they came up with the prices, there is no possible way they would not make way more money if they were cheaper, even those who buys them feel kinda screwed. Stupid move to make everyone unhappy with the cosmetic prices instead of creating a positive vibe with good prices.
@@ZoobleZiFortnite, a F2P titled charges waaaaaay less for individual skins. Helldivers is insanely cheap comparatively as well. It’s not a industry standard it’s a blizzard standard
@@ZoobleZi I'm sure it is, still no where near the most profitable sale price, remember that games are sold worldwide and disposable income varies greatly. Cutting the prices by a lot would create a greater total income. Not like it costs them more to sell 1 million cosmetics then it does to sell 1 thousand
@@hashimrahman51 Maybe, but I am the same as him. I nearly bought two costumes and I bought neither because the price is not just too high, it's way too high.
@@hashimrahman51 that is literally the sentiment across the community, the MAJORITY of the community agrees with this- but at that price point theyre able to get a big $ number just due to the sheer size of the community and the price point, so the small % who buy them is STILL a lot of revenue... also its a fuckin digital cosmetic, theres almost no overhead costs besides the actual salaries of the designers which are being paid anyway on the payroll
I never have DPS numbers displayed. It's basically pointless visual noise. Look at this video itself, numbers constantly covering the centre of the screen. Give us DPS meter instead.
yeah when I started the season the numbers were turned off and I didn't even realize for a few hours and playing that way for a bit really made me never want to turn them on again.
Yeah same here. I've never had them on it's so pointless and it just looks terrible you can't see anything. Especially when there's already so many skills and things and enemies going on at the same time
What they need is a threshold value we can enter. That way, we can scan for our biggest crits/overpowers, then enter an approximation of that number as our threshold value so that only numbers higher than that value are displayed. This would allow us to see the benefit of item upgrades in a very easy manner.
I switch off all the numbers too, the clutter is annoying and all I care about is the time-to-kill, not the actual damage of individual hits. IMO a DPS meter is just as useless as it varies constantly depending on pack size and your damage profile. People would just start complaining that X build does more less DPS than Y build, so nerf Y or demand to buff X. Best not to have any of that stuff at all.
Bricked a 3GA item yesterday. Could not get that vulnerable dmg for my chain lightning alt. So i did a little testing. Tempered 100 items with worldly finesse. Most of the time overpower dmg, sometimes even couple times in a row. Then Crit Strike Dmg, closely followed by Ultimate Dmg. Vulnerable Dmg is so rare even if you take Frost Cage instead of Worldly Finesse. Those affixes have to be weighted. Damn you Blizzard. RNG and bricking is fine as along as the odds are even! Get rid of the weighted mechanic, even the odds and let us have fun again. Right now tempering still feels meh. It’s something you have to do, but don’t really want to. Masterworking is also frustrating because it costs so much resources, but it’s at least repeatable. Yes 🙌🏻 it’s all about the loot and the process of finding said loot, but it’s still supposed to be fun and not a mindless grind.
Vulnerable Damage is the most common result I get from Worldly Finesse this season. The problem is, the system IS random. In many games, the system is designed to result in the most different options when you do a "random" roll. That is not random. That is a weighted system. The tempering system is as random as you can get with a computer. That is why we get the same roll over and over some times. Nothing is stopping that from happening and then perception bias takes care of the rest.
I made Andy's rogue and made it not even close to optimal because of this. I just stopped playing a week ago. Other builds I want to play require me to hit my rolls, no thanks.
I don’t think ancestral drop rate is the problem. I like those rare. The problem is that legendary items SUCK. They should be able to get 2x tempers and up to 12x masterwork ranks depending on item power maybe. I just don’t understand why they made a whole tier of items useless AGAIN
You're spot on about this game being way too random. It's obvious they're doing it to make us play longer so they can look good to their investors. I've been trying to get the right Masterworking rolls on my gear for weeks now, and it's not even fun anymore.
Weird, you don't think staring at some numbers and hitting a button to make them flip like a slot machine over and over is fun? Maybe you have to be a 70 y/o lady with a bucket full of coins...
@therealzahyra definitely the same. Back in ladder and torch races without botting..... the grind for gear was real. It's the same as grinding mats to mod gear.
We should not let the industry continue to label these as "micro" transactions. That is no longer the case and while I almost never purchase cosmetic item, It's largely due to them not being a good value. They are outright expensive!
Masterworking and Tempering needs to be not random at all. It would be REALLY cool if this was one area where people could define their builds with their masterwork/temper choices, but as it stands its still just going to have the "right" tempers and masterworking and everything else will suck.
Here's an idea to make Tempering more fun and less of a headache. When we temper, let's say we choose Worldly Endurance. It gives us the option of Maximum Life, Total Armor, and Dodge Chance. Let us freaken choose which one, but of course each one will be at a random percentage. That's where your randomness should be. Instead of us trying to get what we want, let us pick our 2 options, and THEN retemper for a higher percentage. That way if we brick the item, it'll still have the tempers we want. We just didn't get the highter percentages of the tempers we chose. There, taking notes Blizzard? >.>
yep, that was my suggestion too, but importantly also give us a way to improve the odds, say sacrifice a stygian stone to change the range from 10-100% to 40-100% so we can use a bit of strategy depending on how important this item is, instead of just pure randomness all the time.
@@johnmcstabby2699 the problem is that it is taking a unique system and changing it to something already implemented throughout different systems in the game. This change offered by OP removes that uniqueness which is the best part of the tempering system. Change tempering sure. Just don't completely take away the very thing that makes it unique and in my opinion the best part of it.
I've been saying since D4 launched: if they can't get ME to pay for microtransactions, then they have TRULY fucked up. I am a DIEHARD fan of the franchise since 2001 and I have plenty of disposable income but not even I am willing to pay their insane prices. it's just not good value.
I whole heartedly agree 😢 I bought the barbs sun warrior skin and it was $25-$30 for this outrageous price it should be a set equippable for atleast 2-3 classes Not just one
You nailed it with the randomness, temperring, and masterworking; mostly the randomness of temperring and bricking. I'm just tired of getting hoofed in the nuts every time I brick something. I think I'll be putting down D4 for for a while. Thank's for your insight, Rhykker.
They say every season the chance of bricking is reduced but it never seems to make a difference, I bricked 19 rings in S5 before finally getting max LS CDR, that is not even close to fun. Especially when a ring with 1 GA and other good affixes is a few billion and 2 GA is 20+ billion lol
Yea the guys who play 18 hours a day who don't mind bricking items don't understand that when 99% of the playerbase brick a near / perfect roll item, they don't think 'oh boy, guess I best get back to grinding!' but rather 'f**k this game /logout'. And the game is literally made for casuals so 'the game is not made for you' BS doesn't apply. Just give treasure goblins a 30% chance to drop a temper reset scroll or something. Doesn't give you infinite resets but at least you know there is a chance you can restore your item. /rant
Yeah it is so annoying. I ran around with two tempers that I didn’t even use because I needed the cost reduction/crit chance. Finally last night I got the rolls I needed. These seasons are fun, but like us you don’t get hours and hours of play time and the 3 month season just doesn’t work out
@@markj.a351 it doesn't even have to have an 30% drop chance it could have a 10% drop chance and that'd still be reasonable. As someone who plays like 5-6 hours a day on new seasons I absolutely hate bricking items with tempers too. Yeah there needs to be some risk to it but, it still doesn't feel good to roll the same temper 7 times in a row. I usually log off and take a break for the day if that happens.
its the same for the not that casual gamers, then its just maybe an item with 2 ga but the result is the same. it just feels bad and succeeding the tempers doesnt really feel good. but hey if they dont change things drastically with the expansion gear wont matter that much anymore, because glyphs are just way to strong and allready give you up to 2500% dmg, so it wont matter that much if you have 120% or 150% on your item... sad times.
Tbh bricking an item makes me want to play even less, just feels so disheartening spending 10s of hours for an item just for it to be ruined in minutes.
You're not one of those guys that has to have the best roll for each temper are you? I find that most players will waste an item because they refuse to settle for tempers not being perfect rolls. You don't necessarily need to hit high rolls on the tempers just get the proper rolls regardless of how high they roll and then master work it. Not trying to be a douche bag just what I've learned from experience. It tends to work out a lot better that way
@@Valverde713 not particularly, I mean super late game it’s kind of like that bc I’m trying to eek out every bit of power I can but I’ve just been generally unlucky with some of the tempers e.g keep rolling for the thing I don’t want. That’s god advice though thank you. Defo glad they’re amending the amount of tempers per recipe though hopefully it’ll make the process less frustrating

Indeed…. RNG does NOT belong in every aspect of D4. RNG can f*ck off when it comes to fine tuning gear. Let us choose what we need for gear improvements.
I agree they can leave the RNg to the item power gear drop but let us choose, craft edit ✍️ temper and fine tune are gear without the b.s. rng They do this to prolonged your progress due to lack of end game content
@@a-_-Kuja Until they receive enough negative feedback, Blizzard will never realize that this ultimately aggravates the mass populous of their customer base. It's sad that they don't have enough foresight to realize this much RNG is unacceptably atrocious and unwelcomed by most.
@@thefalkyr I’m still upset about it. RNg does not belong in smithing and crafting. It’s going to be worse than ever since they made the ancestral items extremely rare and the only items that can be temper to rank 12 are the GA gear ⚙️ and than when you brick them . I see blizzard is in the habit of moving two steps forward but 4 steps backwards and wtf is the deal with the new paragon board and glyphs. Now the glyphs goes to rank 💯 or 200 but can only be leveled up in the pit da fuq !!! Just how many friggin countless hours they expect people to do pits , what’s the xp required now to max a glyph probably a whole 4 weeks worth of xp per each glyph to get to max level
They should just add a free "craft perfect item for all slots" button. No friction, no grind, ONLY FUN. In fact, they should just let me start the season with a full maxed perfect gear character and optimized build so i can just BLAST. I WANNA BLAST. BLASTING IS FUN.
You are one of my favorite content creators and you have always been an advocate of people playing their own way, so I feel like I need to call you out on a comment. ARPGs are NOT "games of efficiency". That is a fallacy promoted strictly by on-line personalities who are trying to tell us how we should be playing. It is great that some people like that style of play but I can guarantee that a significant portion of Diablo player base (if not most of them) are not playing that way and don't want to. So, the promotion of that playstyle as the "right" way to play is purely toxic because it can make people who just want to have fun doing their own thing feel like they are doing something wrong.
Here's a suggestion for D4 torment yellow and blue items - Make higher torment levels auto-salvage blues in 2, then yellows in 3, then legendary in 4. (you just get ancestral drops in 4).
If anything we need the reverse approach Make Ancestrals be the ones with only one Temper and problem solved 👌 😌 If on the other hand they keep the double RNG for most otherwise valuable items in the game then there's no point in bothering making anything else
This video its kinda of a milestone of why D4 lacks fun. Very well explained points particularly mentioning the randomness in everything from items to affixes and crafting aspects. Hope the devs pay attention on these points and improve or even change again the identity of affixes on items. At the moment it just feels that we just click on monsters to get that specific item we need and done. Instead we need to have a sense of exploration and unpredictability of what drops. That's fun. That's what Diablo 2 achieved. Excellent deep dive Rhykker.
Bruh I took this personality 😂 I bought the sun warrior skin for the bard it was like $25-30 ridiculously overpriced for just 1 class skin. For that price that skin should be for all classes in my opinion
@mrtoothless what if you're extremely wealthy and buy a few cosmetics? Still a fool if your account grows exponentially every day? Let's get philosophical up in here
@genshinunleashed8455 its relative, take for example Elon. He is opulent and still plays games (most people that successful dont play vids). I dont know if he actually buys mtx, but if he does its inconsequential to him. It wouldnt even be equivalent to a minimum wage employee buying a cheap 711 coffee for 2 dollars
Right...needs to be semi rare ingredients to get a guaranteed stat of some sort that's not common on items already. Or that isn't possible to get in a particular slot already
@@-Mu-min imagine thinking crafting in an ARPG is a bad thing. even Diablo 2 had it. you sound silly. and i do play POE, and its far better than diablo 4. not because diablo 4 is a bad game, but because people LIKE YOU constantly ruin D4 with your console gamer call of duty casual andy feedback. It's so frustrating knowing the only way to end all this mtx madness is to stop buying them and seeing millions of people just dumping their wallets for every game.
Blizzard doesn't even need to hire for marketing and pr apparently after seeing a lot of comments here. They have plenty of their consumers willing to defend their greedy mtx practices for free with every excuse in the book. The point of the game is supposed to be about playing it to find the best loot and best looking loot, not buying it in a real money shop.

Hey Blizzard. Fix the weapon, armor and jewelry shops. I have not bought an item using gold since season 1. The items they sell are useless Change the items being sold to items that have vendor specific aspects. Have stats and affixes that cannot be found on random loot. Have there been legendary and higher items that take gold, materials, and resources to buy
I am disappointed in the whole diablo 4 number squish thing since it seems to have made zero difference after seeing the millions and billions of damage being done in the ptr, I hope they take a second pass at it and squish some crit damage / stat bonus etc values
They already crippled completed chars. My only char who can somewhat keep up is my WhirlTwister barb. He was fine-tuned and is suffering from the locked out Paragon board.
Giving 300 paragon points and limiting boards to 5 is worse, because I was able to have 7 paragon boards with just 225 points, now players won't be able to make such builds =/
I’m sounding like a broken record by now but all the problems with the game can be solved with someone with some actual ingenuity… Let all that we loot be used as materials so we can craft that better item.. so you want a pair of pants with greater affix Max Life, then you need turn in 10 items that are high rolled on that stat and if at least half of them have the highest torment tire lvl you can loot/have drop on then you have 50% chance (since it was half of the items) that you will get an item that is ancestral with that GA on that Stat.. build on this principle on the higher tires and make use of gems and runes or whatever have you.. For tempering, let us pin point what we want/need with the correct combination of different materials and items so we can get that Vulnerable damage or whatever on the item that has taken us weeks to farm for (play the game and loot…) and crafted towards.. Same goes again, Masterworking, let us make use of all and everything and lock desired crits in so the reset after each milestone would set us back some but not all the way. RNG upon, upon RNG, upon RNG, upon RNG, upon RNG, upon RNG, upon RNG… dose not need to be removed from the game, so in a sense one can still go outside Kyovashad, click on that Chest or Ore deposits and get the darn Grandfather with 4GA and highest item power lvl and already masterworked, so those who can’t and maybe just won’t play the game as in farm their way to the top, they can get rewarded for logging on and buying every transmog… but for the rest who are feeling punished for everything we do and the rewards we not getting cause of the formula which is the endless RNG upon RNG.. well we can still have a chance to get somewhere with in the period of each season time window.. and not to be forced to quite or take out the credit card and pay to win it all the way and quite anyway cause in that the dopamine doesn’t last that long.. I just don’t get why developers and Blizzard as a company just can’t think outside the darn box, make it possible (doable) for all of their paying costumers to actually enjoy the game and actually have fun while doing it, what’s the point with brain dead game design, chance to break (trying to lure us into keep on trying and playing) .. dude we are not small children, we can see the fundamentals are broken, now fix them please….!
IMO they should have just made items drop with random tempers that you could put on gear. For example, you kill something and they drop +25% to skill size and you can just put that on the gear. I think players would like this better because it would still be random drops but not the slot machine that creates the headaches
Opening a Christmas present to either get a PS5 Pro or a pair of socks, I'd go for the socks because at least straight out of the package I can vertically stand in them.
5 paragon boards makes all builds the same. There’s literally nearly no variance. The randomness in D4 is stupid because certain stats are weighted way too much. There’s no way they’re not. Masterwork a piece of gear and hit the same stat 36/40 times with 4 rolls being the same. After 40 rolls you should hit all 4 options multiple times but nope. Everything in this game has bullshit weighting.
So many comments about cosmetics in d4, I see things like similar to industry standard or the prices aren't different from PoE, and PoE has been successful for years with that model. But many people are overlooking that first PoE is a free to play game, so you aren't getting slapped in the face with extra charges, as well as the fact that PoE transmogs can apply to all characters, no matter what class or build. If you wanted the same level of transmog in d4, it's not just for 1 class but all 5, soon to be 6, if you want to transmog any character you play. d4 should have charged $5 for skins if they wanted to break them up by class, that would have been a similar price point to PoE.
It certainly irks me that an unfinished mediocre product in this genre has made over a billion. Blizzard certainly knows the power of marketing and IP power over good gameplay. They've been doing it with wow for years.
I bought almost a xsx's/ ps5's value in d4 skins & mounts. These last two seasons, didn't buy premium or accelerated. I was a bit surprised when I sifted through everything I knew I got with platinum. I was heavily into d4 for a bit. I can keep telling myself i'm not buying anymore but I know eventually something will come again I want bad enough lol. I really wanted that winter mount but was able to let it pass.
Would be more appealing if they actually made the prices more reasonable for what you're getting. I mean honestly, it's hard to even see the skins much during gameplay. Other than the load screen, I'm rarely looking at what people are wearing.
@TheTCommander what do you mean you see no reason? Money is their only reason for having it and breaking promises lol They also said they didn't want to add wings cosmetic when d4 launched, now they are going back on it. I'm sure there are other broken promises but I don't follow this product closely enough to remember
@gmee123 yup that's why I say the shop is lackluster. The skins don't stand out at all. Wings, cool helms and shoulders with cosmetic effects are usually the way to go in terms of cosmetics. Then we can go into ground effects, cooler more standoffish mounts, and maybe kill effects even
There's some really cool stuff in the diablo shop, but it's WAY too expensive. If you could buy a single weapon skin, or just a piece out of these sets it'd be much better. Until then they aren't getting any money from me.
Absolutly agree the prices are way to high. An option to buy single pieces out of a set would be nice, i once saw a "tattoo" design in a barbarian set that i really liked but the set not so much, no way I'm paying for the whole set. And if sets could be used on all character classes that would be very nice. One more thing I kind of miss from D3 is that armor and shoulders were two items, that gave so much more to designing your look
It's not just really cool stuff, it's almost all the coolest looking stuff in the game. That is deliberate to make money. Not even price, but on principle I can't support that design. It only hurts the game and players, because the point of the game should also be to find the best looking stuff.
One of the things I like about D4 is that it recognizes that not everyone Min/Maxes every game. Not everyone wants to speedrun every game. Not everyone wants a 'rogue-like' or 'Souls-like'. Most people play video games for fun, not to compete in leaderboards.
Just goes to show they could easily run D4 as a free to play game with free expansions and still afford a decent size yacht for the CEO, but greed makes the world go around.
Idea for Tempering: Make it like enchanting where you can KEEP your previous roll. Kinda weird I guess, but it should help with the bricking. Still use charges but you're not left with crap.
I bet they count seasons passes as shop revenue (ok, it is) but that probably accounts for the great majority of revenue. I dont ever notice anyone in special sets in game. Only limited edition launch stuff and preorder stuff for the expansion.
I think they should have, instead of reducing drops from tormented bosses, they could have taken a note from D:Immortal and have a ghost blacksmith/armor/weapon dealer spawn at the end and fade when the alter is used. The auto sale/breakdown option for overworld farming you suggested would be a great option as well.
What you mean gonna go crazy 😂 it’s already crazy I bought the barbs sun warrior skin last season and it was practically $30 It’s insane for that price it should be a set for 2-3 classes
Agreed, in capping at 5 boards I no longer feel pressure to minmax stretch out another legendary/rare combination, and instead enjoy what I always have in maximizing 4-5 boards ^^
I was worried Blizzard wasn't making enough money. Glad they dont need to develop compelling gameplay to turn a profit. Sad we'll have to layoff more devs to get increased profits next year.
100% agree. There is too much ramdomness. Bricking totally sucks but masterworking is an headache as well. It's way too expensive to get what you want. These system are there to prolong the game unnecessarily. Good video as usual 🙌
That's just sad:( Even more so when you realise that D4 subreddit is now pretty much flooded with MMO/new players who are bragging about "new MTX I just brought!". Another franchise buried by hyper casual timmies and 89yo dads with 145kids
I want to FIND the stuff that looks amazing, not buy it. To me, this isn't about how expensive the stuff in the shop is, it could be dirt cheap and I still wouldn't buy any of it as it goes directly against what made the earlier games fun. There's lots of aspects of D4 that I did not like but I still enjoyed the game overall, but the shop is truly what I hated most.
I think Blues and Yellows can hold a spot for ACTUAL crafting. Something along the lines of; Yellows can be "deconstructed" for affixes (like in Last Epoch) and Blues be "base" items that maintain armor/damage.
I would like to see general glyphs like Spirit / Destruction, Bane, Exploit, etc. to become an account wide progression. And I think they should allow 2 Tempers and 12/12 MW on the 750 items if the ancesrral droprate stays the same. Everything else, despite some bugs of course, seems fine and exciting =)
I’m sorry but the prices for bundles in this game is really not that bad compared to other games that are free to play. Being free to play shouldn’t give license to a company to sell bundles for $200-300 but that’s exactly what Tencent I mean GGG does in PoE. I can’t stand that company so much because they think being a free to play game means it’s okay to sell mtx bundles for that much money. What’s worse is that people will buy them too. Not saying mtx are good in any regard, especially for purchase to play games, but there are way worse practices being done in other gaming spheres like PoE, Destiny charging the price of a full game for each expansion, apex selling $160-300 for collection events, fifa selling ultimate team packs, etc etc the list goes on and on. This game has in game designs that you can earn through play that look good and mtx skins that look good. I’d rather that than a lot of these other publisher business practices.
Buying microtransactions in a F2P game like Warframe is totally ok with me, but a full price "AAA" game shouldn't have that. Anyone who buys stuff in Diablo iv is just hurting himself and future games. It's not in the consumers interrest to maximize profits for the minimum viable product.
D&D games have a huge history of modding - look at OG Neverwinter Night; more recently Solasta had a good bit of campaign and story building modding available. Player's being able to build campaign equivalents add life into the game. I think the issue now is that all the people building modules etc. on the crps are people they want paying monthly subscription fees on D&D beyond.
Great review / recap. Both the good and the bad. I think season 6 will be the most fun season to date and I've never been more excited... But still a lot of work do do with items and balancing. I use the Hydra sorc as my baseline benchmark and it does better than ever reaching pit 65 in PTR, but even 30 head fully maxed and stacked mythic uniques still sucks real hard compared to the top builds
I have spent hundreds of dollars on the POE cosmetic shop, as it's their source of income, and their skins are amazing. I will not be be purchasing any cosmetics from D4, as they are way overpriced, and a lot of their items look sub par compared to POE. I'm worn out with Blizzard and their nickel and diming their customers, especially with their sup par release, and taking a year to fix it. And now we are changing the entire thing again... I will be skipping S6, as I think all of these changes will be a decline in the quality of life. Season 5 felt really good, and I've enjoyed the grind, but bricking items is a load of crap. I'm very disappointed in Blizzard with these changes after redeeming themselves after the disastrous launch and bugs.
Where tf is a witch doctor character and screen filled with minions and power skills!!!! Where is spirit walk... turbo chicken... giant spider....jar of spiders.... set builds... im going back to diablo 3 then throw pc out window
Safe to say I have not and will not ever buy a cosmetic in D4. The prices are egregious, but some people will pay, so until that stops (never) they won't lower the prices. One cosmetic costing more than some games is beyond laughable, but it's commonplace in AAA games now. At least the game isn't P2W though.
I sincerely hope they plan to make an expansion for each major region of the world, saving Hell for the last one. This would make Diablo the penultimate boss, as he should be in my opinion. By the time they finish with the last expo, there would be a truly MASSIVE world to explore and conquer. It will pretty much be a MMO at that point. Maybe a dream, but it's still a fun one!
Infernal hoards getting glyph XP but reduced I like. Because nightmare dungeons are for masterworking infernal hordes on high tier is from after work and pits are purely for glyph XP. But once you get your glyphs to the first upgrade where they become larger you don't care as much so it's kind of nice having a way to level that up while trying to truly work on your endgame build and gear and you're getting that passive upgrade from glyph experience. So infernal hordes having limited clip XP I think is a great idea
Thinking about Diablo just makes me sad at this point.. it is such a iconic game but with Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 it is just about the money.. sad times for games state in 2024.. shame blizzard.. shame.
I'm afraid that for expansion 2 we won't go to Tristram, I believe the "Book of Lorath" is a Diary and tells you the actual journey. After Nahantu, the book mentions a brief scale in the Skovos Islands and then Lut Gholein where Lorath describe how beautiful the landscape of Aranoch desert is. Aranoch is the next one, probably a small playable area on Skovos too but Mainly Aranoch and before reaching Tristram, Lorath talks about Westmarch, although Westmarch is not too big, perhaps Khanduras could be included to, for expansion 3, if not, we may wait for expansion 4... lol
Next time Blizzard has a PTR for Diablo i really hope they include X-Box and Playstation, its kinda unfair that consoles are not included in the PTR we should be able to give are feedback about the game to console players love this game just as much as PC but yet consoles get the shaft and can't play the PTR somethings wrong with this picture in my opinion.
If Blizzard scrapped the store and put those skins into the game as rewards, I for one would be playing now and I would certainly buy the DLC (which I may not do at this point). I think the micro-transaction store is a false economy. It doesn't make up a large percentage of the revenue but it detracts from the satisfaction of the gameplay in a significant way.
I wouldn't mind if they added a little bit of entropy to the tempering system. The longer you go without rolling a certain affix, the more likely you are to get it. Not to some absurd degree, but something where you are guaranteed to get it by like 10 tempers, which means you would still need to use a scroll of retempering in the unlucky cases, or if you want to change your build.
The visual upgrade in the new PlayStation is hysterical to me. I was watching a comparison video and you can't tell for two shits. It's just like it looks a little better maybe? Stuff in the background you can see a little bit clearer and the text is a little bit clearer on things and distance. But it doesn't really look different unless you're really trying to figure out what's different

In game skins are lackluster, season skins are gaudy trash, shop skins look good but cost an insane amount. Make skins like $5 tops.
Tbh I only have them because it’s fun to see I guess lol
I had dodge% roll 8 times in a row, destroying my boots. Certain affixes are definitely weighted.
100 times is still not a pattern I am sorry.
Not at all a pattern. This is why RNG sucks. I needed crit dmg on an item and got vulnerable damage 4 times.
Agree with u.
Or split the difference, 2 tempers and 8 masterwork ranks

Ahhh you've never solo grinded runes back in the early 2000s. The search and work for perfect gear was what made the game.

Nah PoEs is tho 😮
@@ZoobleZi whatsboutism. I've barely played POE but did notice the cash shop being expensive. Difference is one is a f2p while the other was $100 🤔
Masterworking and Tempering needs to be not random at all. It would be REALLY cool if this was one area where people could define their builds with their masterwork/temper choices, but as it stands its still just going to have the "right" tempers and masterworking and everything else will suck.
for a 2. expansion I would like to see a hell in the style of D1 again with large, surprisingly clean bone surfaces/structures and fountains of blood
There, taking notes Blizzard? >.>
yep, that was my suggestion too, but importantly also give us a way to improve the odds, say sacrifice a stygian stone to change the range from 10-100% to 40-100% so we can use a bit of strategy depending on how important this item is, instead of just pure randomness all the time.
sounds so much better lol
This is such a bad idea. It fundamentally changes the tempering system to be just a simple upgrade system.
@@PR2k9 well the tempering system needs fundamentally changed so where is the problem?
@@johnmcstabby2699 the problem is that it is taking a unique system and changing it to something already implemented throughout different systems in the game. They say every season the chance of bricking is reduced but it never seems to make a difference, I bricked 19 rings in S5 before finally getting max LS CDR, that is not even close to fun. Especially when a ring with 1 GA and other good affixes is a few billion and 2 GA is 20+ billion lol
Now put yourself in the shoes of those who dont trade... maybe 95% of players?
blizzard really said "we heard you guys about bricking feeling unfun.......so we made the problem 10x worse for some reason"
Temper bricking really feels so bad, man... For casuals to get a GA item and then hit neither of your intended tempers... 😢

Like finding a unique or making a rune word in D2 with a trash roll? Diablo is about grinding for items
It is great that some people like that style of play but I can guarantee that a significant portion of Diablo player base (if not most of them) are not playing that way and don't want to. Giving 300 paragon points and limiting boards to 5 is worse, because I was able to have 7 paragon boards with just 225 points, now players won't be able to make such builds =/
I’m sounding like a broken record by now but all the problems with the game can be solved with someone with some actual ingenuity…
Let all that we loot be used as materials so we can craft that better item.. so you want a pair of pants with greater affix Max Life, then you need turn in 10 items that are high rolled on that stat and if at least half of them have the highest torment tire lvl you can loot/have drop on then you have 50% chance (since it was half of the items) that you will get an item that is ancestral with that GA on that Stat.. build on this principle on the higher tires and make use of gems and runes or whatever have you..
That would have been cool and they could have tied it to end game activities like the pit or whatever seasonal mechanic.
@@sethwood1676 imagine you just spent all the time on the raid and that extra 1% drops that you don’t have… just like the aspects
A console over 800 dollars? Might as well getting a PC at that price point, which is far more versatile.
@@borg111 While I agree. Idk what this has to do with ops point.
Isn't this just what aspects were like before loot reborn?
Opening a Christmas present to either get a PS5 Pro or a pair of socks, I'd go for the socks because at least straight out of the package I can vertically stand in them.
Even when I vertically stand I still wish I was laying down. Gimme the Pro.
Pair of **ancestral** socks imbued with poison dmg and 100% chance to make vulnerable within radius.
Exactly this, but people here like to compare apples and oranges.
If you think PoE is free you haven't played PoE 😂😂
Act 4 in Diablo 2 was always my favorite.
I could never justify to myself spending 10-20 dollars for a single outfit wearable by a single class.
I could and have along with the battle passes 😌
It certainly irks me that an unfinished mediocre product in this genre has made over a billion. Blizzard certainly knows the power of marketing and IP power over good gameplay. They've been doing it with wow for years.
It's a live service game it was never meant to be finished 😂 I swear people don't even know wtf they are buying anymore lul
@@ZoobleZi man thats the dumbest take ive ever heard
I bought almost a xsx's/ ps5's value in d4 skins & mounts. These last two seasons, didn't buy premium or accelerated. I was a bit surprised when I sifted through everything I knew I got with platinum. I was heavily into d4 for a bit. I can keep telling myself i'm not buying anymore but I know eventually something will come again I want bad enough lol. I really wanted that winter mount but was able to let it pass.
Well the shop is lackluster af. Wait till they start adding wings. And if they add QoL to it some way or another...
Would be more appealing if they actually made the prices more reasonable for what you're getting. I mean honestly, it's hard to even see the skins much during gameplay. Other than the load screen, I'm rarely looking at what people are wearing.
Agree, id pay $5 for a skin, but $20, no thanks, easy skip @gmee123
15% of the profit of a full price AAA title is penty. I see no reason for them to change things and therefor break their promise.
@TheTCommander what do you mean you see no reason? Money is their only reason for having it and breaking promises lol
They also said they didn't want to add wings cosmetic when d4 launched, now they are going back on it.
Then we can go into ground effects, cooler more standoffish mounts, and maybe kill effects even
Missing the story timestamps/chapters. Love the series, though!
1:56 Video starts.
I would bet it would be higher if the prices were more reasonable. I personally haven’t touched the shop precisely because of the prices.
How much revenue is coming from DEI, sweet baby inc? And where is my non-binary horse?
About the Diablo IV PTR feedback: I'm 100% in agreement with Rhykker. Everything he says on this topic makes perfect sense to me.
One of the things I like about D4 is that it recognizes that not everyone Min/Maxes every game. Not everyone wants to speedrun every game. Not everyone wants a 'rogue-like' or 'Souls-like'. Most people play video games for fun, not to compete in leaderboards.
A lot of people have really bad luck with RNG games need some things to be deterministic.
The more the game changes, the more the itemization problem keeps popping up.
Generic item power is just a terrible way to scale player power.
150 million $ in mtx purchases.
So basically they sold around 15 cosmetics.
This isn't PoE 😂
Nice to see you're still around. I guess Diablo III doesn't have much content left to produce, huh x)
POE2 plz come quick 'cause we are barely hangin' on!
I'm not going to lie... 1 new skill per class is... kinda.. a disappointment,
ugh. the mtx news is turning me off. unless they dial the prices WAY the fuck back I don't know if I'll go back.
Rofl! They are doing just fine without you…Stop crying already…Spoiled bratz…
Numbers are gonna go crazy once they start adding wings and exotic pets.
What you mean gonna go crazy 😂 it’s already crazy I bought the barbs sun warrior skin last season and it was practically $30
It’s insane for that price it should be a set for 2-3 classes
Agreed, in capping at 5 boards I no longer feel pressure to minmax stretch out another legendary/rare combination, and instead enjoy what I always have in maximizing 4-5 boards ^^
I was worried Blizzard wasn't making enough money. Glad they dont need to develop compelling gameplay to turn a profit.
Sad we'll have to layoff more devs to get increased profits next year.
This is the greatest comment ever.
100% agree. There is too much ramdomness. Bricking totally sucks but masterworking is an headache as well. It's way too expensive to get what you want. These system are there to prolong the game unnecessarily. Good video as usual 🙌
Idk I’m a lifelong Diablo fan but after the PTR ended I went back to play the new POE league and man…. It’s just a great ARPG
Lower the expansion cost..au 128$..is bit much..
That's just sad:(
Even more so when you realise that D4 subreddit is now pretty much flooded with MMO/new players who are bragging about "new MTX I just brought!". Another franchise buried by hyper casual timmies and 89yo dads with 145kids
Stereotype much? lol sheesh
145 kids?! How many side chicks this grandpa have?!
Im a long time player of the Diablo franchise and id buy a few skins if they were half the price. 1400 not 2800, thats insane.
15% on cosmetic MTX is great, I spend $10 every season that I enjoy, and $0 if I don't enjoy it. Vote with your wallet :)
I want to FIND the stuff that looks amazing, not buy it. To me, this isn't about how expensive the stuff in the shop is, it could be dirt cheap and I still wouldn't buy any of it as it goes directly against what made the earlier games fun. There's lots of aspects of D4 that I did not like but I still enjoyed the game overall, but the shop is truly what I hated most.
prices are criminal , if they charged $5 for each set they would have made 4 times this , idiots
I'm sure they ran the numbers on it and you're wrong. A company like blizzard knows the math well only when it separates players from their $
Facts because the vastly majority of population would have bought a skin or two to stand out
I think Blues and Yellows can hold a spot for ACTUAL crafting. Something along the lines of; Yellows can be "deconstructed" for affixes (like in Last Epoch) and Blues be "base" items that maintain armor/damage.
Wow, lots of folks triggered by MTX in the comments. 😂
So since D4 released, roughly half the revenue has been from microtransactions. Or rather macrotransactions, given the pricings.
Barbarian feeling more like a Druid than the Druid.
Man this game really fails, hard.. They should just let it die.
This
D&D games have a huge history of modding - look at OG Neverwinter Night; more recently Solasta had a good bit of campaign and story building modding available.
Beauty in Sin rogue skin was completely worth it. Also I really like Diablo 4 despite the cry babies. Season 5 has been a blast.
After seeing the Borderlands movie, I wouldn’t recommend any one waste money to see it, even if the theaters accepted toenail scrapings as payment…
But it doesn't really look different unless you're really trying to figure out what's different
i bought the crystal and bone horse from s3 i believe; no regerts. diablo releases a game once every 10 years... most gamers here apparently werent alive during CODS glory years when youd buy a 60$ game every year, youd buy 60$ premium 4x DLC pack every year, and youd pay for xbox or ps yearly online pass which was.. you guessed it 60$.. 180$ on one game for 1 year of gaming... i was also a go-getter and i also played battlefield so yes gaming used to be quite expensive but diablo and starcraft my 2 alltime favorites DO NOT ASK FOR VERY MUCH MONEY. BITE me for contributing to my favorite company
Ive spent about $300 on MTS and I hate myself for it but the art is stunning! I really enjoy my toon much more with the theme packages.
since its pure profit, with almost zero cost, all cosmetics should cost 4,99. the profit would sky rocket, and they would ear 5x more then they do
