    Thank you for sharing your list from 2022. I’ve seen the Knob Creek 18 years one time and it was $250.00 also. I didn’t have the funds to purchase it. But I’ve had a pour of the 12 year and I enjoyed it.

    Great list. I appreciated the authenticity with regards to your viewers and the reasonable expectations as to which we can procure these bottles. Calumet 16 has been a game changer for me. I honestly was at the point where I was about to give up on bourbons as I was finding every “it” bottle underwhelming. Calumet had me at the nose. I bought two more bottles after my first tasting and have yet to regret anything. I finally found the Remus Repeal VI and am looking forward to that opening in a few weeks for my birthday.

    I totally love how you operate Brother!...problem with this is I literally would need to cross state lines to get most of the bottles on your list (not your problem. Oregon can suck that way!)...I should be happy however your number one pic is available just 20 short minutes away here in Portland. 🙂 Just need to convince the wife it's a good idea to spring for a $150.00 bottle. Hey, if I cook mac-n-cheese at home instead of going out to dinner, possibly she'll go for it!

    Great list! The next calumet age statement will either be 18 or 19, they posted a teaser months ago, showing the very top of the age label, it was a 1 and a number with a rounded top, not a “7”

    Great list!! Although I’ll be happy when the lists are completed and you’re back in the t-shirt. The oddly-colored shirt & tie combo is freaking me out. Unless you’ve had to go to court every day this week. If that’s the case, good luck.

    I love your list because most all available. Calumet 16 is right there with the Lucky Seven 14, Remus Gatsby, BBC disco 9, BBC Goose Island colab as my top 5 for the year. Wilderness Trail 8 just missed out on my top 5

    10 most enjoyable bourbons I had the pleasure to consume this year in no particular order: Rare Breed, George Dickel Distillers Cut, Jack Daniels Bonded, Woodford Double Oaked, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Elijah Craig BP A122, OGD 114, Makers Mark 46 Cask Strength, Stagg Jr. 16 and Bakers 7. I'm sure your list is way better as there are many great bourbons I haven't tried yet, but now I've got a good idea of what to look for in my travels. Thanks Matt!

    Knob 18 blew me away. Absolutely stunning. Not overoaked at all but definitely oak forward with additional notes of banana pudding and vanilla. So stinkin good.
    Calumet 16 on the other hand was straight up garbage to me. Tasted like I was making out with oak and not in a good way.

    I think all but two of the bottles are MSRP north of $100. I think your $100 or less Top 10 would be interesting. Obviously ECBP A122 and Wilderness Trail 8yr would be on it since they made this list, but what are your other 8? Presumably the $100 or less category would be stuff more people could actually find. Out of this list, the only ones I ever even saw were ECBP A122 and Calumet 16 (which I didn't buy).

    I bought two bottles of the Cal 16 this year because I loved it so much. But the last bottle I bought in 2022 is giving it a run for its money in my mind, but it’s a store pick. Old 55 BIB- doesn’t have the age of the Calumet, but the taste is something special.

    I’ve been hearing a lot of great things about Calumet 16. It’s always been on the shelf but I never heard much about it and saw it’s expensive. Maybe I should plunk down the coin to snag a bottle before it completely goes away due to hype like other bottles. But yeah, you do pay for it!

    • @100puremustard5
      @100puremustard5 2 года назад

      I would not pay over $120.
      I have 2 different batches, and while they're good, they just didn't have that wow factor imo. They have gotten better with air, especially the second batch. But that's like 6 months after they've been open.
      It's just not a $140+ bottle of whiskey and people are paying that.
