My dream to meet and play with Stevie Wonder finally came true at NAMMshow! Learn more about harpejji : www.marcodi.com HARPEJJI DISCOUNT Promo Code : MATHIEU
Looks like Stevie just listens to the melody for a moment then figures out how he wants to accompany and does it. A true master of the musical craft. Been a huge fan from the early 80's. Still am.
Yes but this is an obscure type of instrument...and he cant even see to get an idea how its laid out or anything. I mean its one thing to be able to figure out a song but presumably he had to also wing this instrument while improvising the song. I guess he must have felt it out or someone described it to him but still that is insane.
Lethia Page Nope, he’s been playing the harpejji for years now. Not saying this performance is any less awesome, just not as impossible as you’re describing.
@@lethiapage4767 has played for a while. There's a video from 2012 saying he started 5 months ago. so he's in it 5 years by now. He's a machine though. Without his sight I truly believe it let's him connect with the music on a level unknown but most people
@@thames21 thanks to both commenters so far for clarifying that. Being that I have seen a lot of instruments and not this one....I assumed no one else knew about it either. Of course that is silly for me to say. I prove that to be wrong at least a couple times a week when I stumble upon some ancient or futuristic doohickey that makes music. These kind of things fascinate me 😮 I do admire Stevie Wonder a great deal. Not only is he talented but his world must be such a challenge and I'm glad he is so comfortable with music. Thanks again. How cool would it be to just walk around NAMM?
Lethia Page Very cool! The coolest i think would be to be the who huilt this thing and then have stevie come to your booth and love the thing that you’re the creator off. That must be like having achieved your goal, right?
He is just so talented! Given a new instrument, he looks lost for a minute, then just listens to what's going on, figures it out, and then just kills it...wow!!!
I'm sure he wants to hear what's being played. So he points both of his ears towards it, to focus on it. PA's always point away from the stage, and the crowd there is literally 10'000 people all making idle chatter at the same time. It would be a lot to filter out.
this is quite cool, love the innovative instrument :) I think if Marcodi gave Stevie one of these to keep he'd really be enjoying himself and end up performing with it, hence making it popular.
ha de ser complicado para un "no vidente" improvisar y tener que discernir su melodía sobre instrumentos de igual sonoridad ..aún más si se desconoce la disposición de sus notas que son tan diferentes a las de un sintetizador...grande Stevie

Rob Podzunas Ikr it seems so but he started playing in 2012. there's another video of him with one
Rob Podzunas he's like me when it comes to music like I'll figure it out when someone starts playing the melody and then I start to kill it
Mr. The Man Are you sure about that?
You said it!
Stevie was listening to understand the rhythm, not the instrument.
Sounds like Fragile by Sting, Stevie sang it for Sting's 60th birthday.
;)
Com certeza....
how fragile we are...🤗
It also has some elements of his song “Rocket Love”. 💜
That’s right
LONG LIVE STEVIE. HE THE BOSS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Omg, the instantaneous melody that Steviw just throws in like that is insane and really pretty. The harpeji really is an amazing instrument as well
In a class of one. The ideal sound is when the technique serves the music. From Stevie's heart straight through ours.
Basically, he is the greatest popular musician of the second half of the XX
This can't possibly be real. I can actually hear everything. That _never_ happens at NAMM.
;)
Congrats on getting to play with him
One of my favorite songs!
People just gonna pretend they don't see Stevie watching this man play??!!
RIGHT!
Look closer. His eyes are closed a lot of the time. He's listening.

Your face is the definition of happiness.
GENIAL !!!! IMPRESSIONNANT !!!!!! BRAVO
+Regine VERTAURE merci beaucoup!
I have a photo of this moment. The mob around Stevie was thick and his tanks made me look small.
I believe that’s Cory Henry to Stevie’s right.
Стиви Уандер один из величайших музыкантов планеты!
Theres a clip of Stevie playing it on 2012. He’s definitely not new to it
this is quite cool, love the innovative instrument :)

Well I just saw a video of him playing a harpejji in 2012 so I guess he's already loving it!
He played it in OKC in 2015.
TheCruzanqueen Yes Queen just like he did with the Fairlight back in the 80's.
If you look up "Cool Cat" it should just have a picture of Stevie Wonder.
I think you can give him any instrument a he play it perfect after few minutes. He’s a musician genius. He plays what he feel.
hermoso esta vivo ídolo mio gracias x tanto saludos desde Perú y x mi sueño de verte
Fragile...loving it.
This is just beautiful hey. Wow 🙂.
Stevie said, oh no not anotehr fucking cheese grater. that was a real violent book.,
You 2 were awesome
Musical Genius!!!!
Stevie is so soulful! :D

What's up with the audio on this video? Covering the mix with your hand?
Masterpiece
A good musician meets a genius.
most probably couldn't play it with sight never mind without . Stevie is the man
Que bueno!!!
🔥🔥🔥
😍🤗
Why's that so short? I was really digging it! Is there a part 2??
please play "overjoyed"
I wish they would have had the Mic closer the the instrument
It was Time to make silence ❤️
Wow!
It looks like he was looking at what he was playing?
Good evening, I have a Harpejji G16 and I need to change all the strings on the instrument. Can you tell me the thickness of each rope?
Rodrigo Melo CAN you contact me on fb please
Um, I am eagerly awaiting the remix version. #practice

I can't believe stiv playing so well stivey is very smart with out eyes playing so well that's gifts from God. thanks
He picked up on that pretty quickly! What a solid musician.
like the urban legend goes...Stevie can see...watch him look over at the other dude, then back at his harpeji, then back over at the other guy...
I used to love to attend NAMM shows in the 70's, 80's, and 90's when there was NOT an army of jackasses with cellphones taking video.
Damn he can play that too!! (Stevie)
look and learn... Stevie killin' it
Is there anything Stevie can't play???
He's trying to look at your paper!
a la chance :)
Was Stevie happy to see you?
C'est plutôt insupportable de voir les gens parler, crier, et faire du bruit comme si ils étaient devant la télé.
Écoutez, ou cassez vous. Tsss...
Are you saying he just started playing this instrument?
No he played it before.
Keep posting videos man, I just subscribed. Start a pattern or something, I have shared your videos with my friends. Great content
Stevie can see. Watch him watch the other guy's hands.
Can't hear!!!
Stevie Wonder holding to what hair he has left...
How do we know if Stevie's ever played the harpejji or not?!
this video does not make the "stevie wonder isnt actually blind" meme too non-credible lmao
Stevies looking at the other dude playing!
Плохо слышно ((((
Fragileee
I bet Stevie's never seen anything like that!
You think you're funny?
@@kingphil4073 Yeah, you do too. Thanks.
I think he’s never seen anything.
A few bum notes in there though
