  • Let's dive into the sounds of Bank A on this Roland JP8080, the rackmount version of the JP8000 virtual analog synthesizer. I had not touched it in 10 years so I pulled it out the old rack and dusted it off to hear it once again. I used OP1 as midi controller and recorded directly into my modular synth wav recorder.

one of the best ever made in my opinion, I bought both the JP and Nordlead2 in the 1990s

Thumbs up for showing us the backside of this unit and a Sub for dusting it with a paint brush!! 🖌😆

Somehow I'm expecting the hands to have florescent gloves on, and be lit by a black light 🔥
This was fun. Inspiring me to plug in my JP8000 🎹🎶😻

These are crazy expensive these days... I'd hold on to mine, but I don't own one!

I'm so glad I've hung on to my JP8000 for all these years.
      Still sounds great.

I was quite surprised to see the price they go for these days, you used to find them for $500 any day

That's a question each of us asks about a piece of gear we parted with.

Bro love ya work! but are the gloves really necessary

Thanks! I don't always wear them but am cautious about finger oils and deterioration of synths over time. I have some old synths with rubber pitch wheels and stuff that begins to deteriorate from finger oils, so I try to minimize it when sweating under video lamps.

Probably the last good synth Roland ever made.

Was actually the last Roland synth I purchased in the 1990s.

Nah software will never sound as good as hardware, if that was the case these wouldn’t go for the price they do. I only use hardware synths. Have since the 90s

Selling today for a similar price I paid for a new one in the 90s .

yes they are, quite a few pieces of 90s gear has sky rocketed recently.

I have two and I could have three. I bought my second one for $450 ages ago. Now they are trying to sell you one for $1400 or more? why? They are amazing! but Get a Virus Ti2 instead, cheaper and equivalent to 16 JP 8080.

I have a JP8000, and it is Unique, and great in many ways.
      I'll never sell it.
The Hydrasynth Explorer I got recently, is much better, for the money.
