      Not an accident. I think it's supposed to be taking the piss out of Jim J. a bit. The director Tom Dicillo was his cameraman on Stranger than Paradise.

    This scene is one of my favorite scenes in any movie. And still is. You know that they nailed it when half of the people still don't get it even after all these years and think that was acting.

      still surprises me that Nick Cave works on Brad Pitt films today. But then again one of Pitt's first roles was with James Gandolfini.

    brad pitts acting isnt even bad in this clip. its just the way the character acts. the chemistry between the two is there. whoever said this is bad acting is a victim to ignorance

    The story goes that Cave ran into Pitt at the Jesse James premiere in 2007. He said "Hey Brad, remember me? I gave you your big break". Pitt just looked at him blankly.

    I saw this film at the then, USA Film Festival, now the Sundance Film Festival. One, if not, Pit's 1st film. A year or two later the director had some 'interesting' words about Mr. Pit.

      Apparently Pit was asked by the director to be in his next film and though he 'got his start with the director's film, he blew him off and ...never looked back. So goes Indy films those days.

    • @herrsteppenwolf
      @herrsteppenwolf 7 месяцев назад

      Yikes, this was in the early 90s. I can't remember. Just that Pit had moved onto bigger and better offers. The director had hoped he would work with him again especially since he had given him the role in Blue Suede Shoes (BSS) his 1st film. I believe his comments were at the Q & A held after the director's 2nd film at Sundance and asked about working with Pit on BSS. Clearly the director was in Pit's rear view mirror.

    I think Pitt did not really develop as an actor until later in his career. This acting is kind of wooden.

    • @crithon
      @crithon  10 лет назад +2

      well the film was pretty melodramatic, I think Pitt played it in the right tone. Compare this to Kalifornia it's radically different. Personally I felt his performance in Seven is best, especially the scene where he flips out in the car about Morgan Freeman's notes and then he gets cliffnotes from an officer. Or the scene with him, freeman and Spacey, nice balance of different styles. Because something like Interview with the Vampire is very melodramatic and could come off as sleep walking.

      No way, how can you say that. I first watched it properly back in 1997 on Vhs tape. Use to get off looking at the video cover. I imagined myself like a johnny Suede - pausing and rewinding and replaying certain scenes in the movie. There are a lot of "weird" and darkly humourous scenes in the movie. A dark comedy and definitely a melancholic feel. A bit of David lynch kind of feel but way lighter and more humour. Some people don't get the oddity and weirdness in life, nor appreciate it, hence probably don't "get" the movie. For me, I got "lost" many times in this movie. Such a cult classic. So many scenes where it's like, you just know it's meant to be "weird" and the characters (the shipe bunch of them), were a delight to see parade in this movie. Damn I dig this movie and have probably watched it more than any other movie. Too bad you think it's "horrible." Don't know how you could say that? Further, I found it so entertaining and easy to watch. The music was so cool too in it. (Link Wray) from the get go in the opening credits.
      "Some people call me a teenage idol, some people say they envy me..." (opening scene of movie as Johnny is fixing his pompodour in a mirror whispering the words as the background music of a club is heard and a cool voice over/narration proceeds introducing us to Johnny).

    @freddylumbergg4357e I don't think Snatch is the best testament to Pitt's acting abilities...great movie, but I could hardly take him seriously with that garbage accent.

    • @crithon
      @crithon  9 лет назад +1

      what is interesting Nick Cave would later go on to score Brad Pitt's film Assassination of Jessie James. Even if it's Pitt early he knows talent later down the line, like on Seven commentary track he talks about how funny John C McGinley is as a SWAT Team leader before he was on the show Scrubs
