You mentioned the space available to maneuver at most of the DC's. I spent so much time wiggling into spots in NYC and Chicago that when I finally sometimes GOT 40 acres to back that trailer up I had trouble getting to the dock.😅
I have taken a load from Walmart in Texas and took it to a Walmart in California and I was to reload from the same place ..they didn't even take the load out the just gave me a new BOL and the load went back to the same place I picked up from . It still didn't make sense to me why they would move a freight halfway across the country and back to the same place ...well it paid like crazy😁 What a week 😎
Back in 2002 I had a regular run at -10 out of Zanesville, OH to Americold (I think) near Allentown. I always got there on time or even early and STILL had to sit 6-8 hours waiting. Then I had to dead-head down across the Bay Bridge for mushrooms out of Cambridge, MD for Columbus, OH. Then back to Zanesville to do it again. That damn cold storage place cost me 12-16 hours per week I could have been at the house.
Yeah and you need to fleck back on that, It makes you madder than anything But I bet you made some very good money though Were you able to pay for your house in cash working that reefer freight like that?
i'm ltl now but truckload freight i'd be golden if i could load/ unload my own freight! i run circles around all them forklift drivers. we go to sysco sometimes and used to be able to downstack our own pallets. bc of "covid" now we can't even go in and it takes 3-4 hrs for 1-6 pallets. BS!
yes i agree with the pros on hauling reefer but iam old man and i dint want to work that hard anymore i just switch from reefer to dry van last week but good thing i did not have to switch companys our company do both i just can to change division as old man i like to sleep nights work days and think i like about dry van is 85% of loads are drop and hook yes there pros and cons on both but nice thing on dry vans in most cases if live load or unload usually out of there within hour i pulled reefer for many years and had enuf of them sure you may at times get in area with no freight with dry vans but i dont run into that alot
I’ve had my CDL for two years, and I only do reefer… I love it. But never reserve parking at a truckstop. It’s the biggest scam ever just find a rest area or something like that.
im pretty sure they dont enforce it.. there is a %age of those paid parking that are some black dude who have zero fuqqs and parked there/didnt pay.. i know sometimes it will say 15 spots available and ill pull up and there is ZERO
@@David_Richard_241amen!! And they act like they’re doing you a favor!! Ridiculous!! It’s because of those dam Elogs!! Always had an open spot when everyone had paper logs
You forgot to add women as a pro and a con. You know them ladies always want to be with a reefer driver. There's only so much of me to go around though.
I played this video over my cars bluetooth that has 4 15's and it is just one constant bass drop for 9 minutes 😂😂😂😂 this is my new stop light video

Before I retired I never even HEARD of paying for reserved parking. Drivers of my era would NOT stand for that shit.
For 27 bucks I could find a Days Inn with truck parking and shit shower and shave like a human being.

That's because they know you're going to have a lot of time while you're waiting to get loaded or unloaded 😂
For me personally. I freaking hate refer freight!!! Hurry up and wait!!! Wait getting loaded and wait to unload!!!! F that
