As a Thai, I recommend adding an egg on top of the dish (can be fried or soft boiled). It pairs well with prik nam pla, and adds creaminess to the dish. For fried egg I prefer the Thai style (sunny side up but with crispy edges).
Thank you, that sounds delicious! I think runny yolk is a great way to enjoy egg!
Please don't stop putting the recipe in the description box 🥺 I like to read the ingredients while watching the video and it's not possible to do so when I'm using my phone unless the recipe is written in the description box. It's not a big deal when it's not there but it's a little bit more convenient.
Usually I save the link to the website after I decide that it's something I want to cook.
Same!!
Dude I love these recipes healthy, quick, and the way you break them down giving examples of replacements is perfect. I cook a lot but it really helps to hear how and what to substitute with. You honestly could give people confidence to cook which is awesome.
I appreciate it! Breaking down the substitutions helps me a ton as well as I try to learn about disehs so glad to hear it helps you as well.
@@EthanChlebowski No carbs, no fats. This isn't a meal. This is if you wanna become anorexic
@@edwardcullen3251 uh, you forgot about the carbs in the rice and the fats in the oil lmao
@@edwardcullen3251 Thank you for your dietary advice Edward, who doesn't realise Rice contains carbs.

Ethan, I'm loving these simple, healthy meals you are posting recently. Keep it up!
So do Ethan's other 1.6M+ other subscribers. 🤣
Tried this tonight. Family absolutely loved it. And it took little to no time at all. Very easy. Absolutely delicious and everyone wants me to add this to the “restaurant” menu. I’m the restaurant.
Tbh I think sea beans might be a big reason why you like this stir fry so much - while I don't discount the prik nam pla adding a ton of flavor, sea beans on their own are also pretty flavorful and bring salinity to the dish (anyway, I guess this is my cue to go forage for them this weekend haha)
Just finished making this. I used snap peas and added some sugar to the prik nam pla, and god damn that hits! The dry brined chicken cooked so well and gave amazing color and depth of flavor.
Ngl as a Thai I recommend everyone to try prik nam pra(fish sauce with chilli and also they are prik nam pra manow which add lemon and some add garlic too) It’s soooo addictive. Just make sure you guys keep check on sodium consumption because this thing scream SODIUM lmao
Where/what is Ngl?

@@majoroldladyakamom6948 It's short for "not gonna lie"
Sodium isn't bad unless you already have high blood pressure.
prik nam pra or nam pra prik?
for Prik Nam Pla, I recommend adding red onion into the sauce as well. it taste so good but like sugar this is totally optional :)
Thank you! I always love hearing authentic twists to really bring culture to a dish
@@alexkim5729 To clarify, by red onion he means shallots. A bit of mis-translation.
Quickly became one of my favorite cooking channels 🙏🏻 love the thoroughness
Who's your runner-up?
Some place in Thailand will put the squeezed lime into prik nam pla as well, I guess it will become chewable after a couple of days in there. And also, adding garlic or shallots in prik nam pla is the bomb. When the prik nam pla is good, I could just have a crispy-on-the-bottom fried egg with rice and prik nam pla (with tons of 'marinated' garlic/shallot)
I made the sauce ahead of cooking to infuse for a few hours. It's literally there EASIEST and TASTIEST thing I've made in years. I nearly ate all the sauce before cooking! You've smashed this video!
This shit not easy u trippin mad DICK if you think so
I'm pleasantly surprised to see prik nam pla here! I'm Thai and it's always a staple in my fridge. Prik nam pla over eggs and rice is also divine.
Ethan - Your straightforward approach to home cooking, authenticity, subtle humor, competent camera work and excellent editing have captured my attention. You earned my sub months ago, but the unexpected twists like the prik nam pla have kept me watching the same videos over and over. Great job dude. You’ve quickly become one of my favorite channels to watch!
This is the channel that I’ve been looking for. Great content for people that don’t like to make complicated dishes and they’re almost always very cheap to make. The editing is also very good!
I absolutely loved this Ethan, it's always great to learn about new flavors to along with chicken especially for those weekday meals. I'm definitely going to try this one!
I never realized how close Vietnamese and Thai food were, it makes sense though. We use the same exact sauce with maybe some regional varients. It's the staple for any vietnamese meal.
Ooo love this recipe! I'm trying to get into the habit of cooking more at home and your videos have been helping immensely. I've made a couple of your recipes now and they've all been bangers! Can't wait to try this and the shrimp tacos soon!
Need to try this!! Love watching your videos!!
Pad kra pao is honestly one of the few things I could eat multiple times per week. Not getting tired of it but nice to have something similar I can throw into the rotation. 🤤
I miss the 40 THB pad kra pao from the street kitchen outside 7-11
Love this recipe! Learned so much in a 5 min video. Keep ‘em coming!
Made this for lunch and it was SO good! Healthy too, this will be a go-to meal prep. Thanks Ethan!!
Thanks for putting the nutritional information of the meal as well!
I Just Made this and it really is awesome! Thanks for showing me the recipe!
Love seeing you back in my feed!
I love your channel Ethan. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this awesome recipe! It became an all time favorite with the family today 👌
thx so much for your work, this kind of video is making me want to cook all the time, fast and delicious, the fact that you deconstruct and explain components make those recepes doable with anything we have at hand. keep up the good work, you are making this world a better place
Thanks for the recipe, my house loved it. Also appreciate the call outs for substitutions. Ended up making this with asparagus and jalapenos. It was still incredible, I cannot wait to make the original.
This reminds me of pad kra pow and can confirm is super addictive. If you can’t find Thai basil, I find using regular basil and some dried tarragon (for the aniseed flavour) works very well
Thanks again sir. Good luck with your move. Cheers from Montreal !
I have just recently discovered these videos by this informative cook. He’s really quick and simple. I noticed that he loves msg and I learned to use mayonnaise for oil and marinating 😋 . Normally all my stir fry has oyster sauce, soy sauce and quality fish sauce, along with lots of fresh Thai peppers.
Congrats on the million subs dude! Very much deserved 👏
Your graphics that go along with the video are done really well. Great video!
Ethan I’m a student but you inspired me to try cooking love your journey and the risk you took to start RUclips. I hope to see you hit 2 million much love my friend!
What risk?
@@cwg73160 Putting yourself out there into a hostile Internet may not be a financial risk, but it's a psychological risk. Nobody likes being shown that they don't matter, that nobody cares what they have to say, and definitely nobody likes a bunch of jackals in the comments saying "this sucks, you suck, you're worthless."
Whether it's a podcast, a blog, a RUclips channel, or anything else creative, we all ultimately want to believe that what we say and do and create has value. As a guy who runs a small NBA blog as a hobby, nothing makes me happier than someone finding my work on a Google search and then citing it in a forum argument or in one of their own blog posts, like "I found this on the Internet and it was good enough to share."
Put yourself out there if you've never done so before and just be in touch with your mindset as you check your comments or your traffic or whatever. You'll see what a risk it is.
@@SimuLord It’s 2022. Everyone’s on the internet.

fantastic, love these simple dishes
Literally just made this and it was great!
The method for cooking the rice worked really well and kept it light and fluffy.
And that Prik Nam Pla sauce! Wow! So good!
love this recipe will definitely be giving it a try
your quick recipes are literally the only youtube channels recipes that i make the same day i watch it. thanks for that.
It's been awesome to watch your channel grow and your videos improve so much as well. Thanks for the awesome content! I'm obsessed with prik nam pla too. Gonna make this tonight!
i love watching your show. please keep up the good work. One love
Quality content as always. awesome recipe
Dope recipe. New kitchen looks great too. You've earned it brother
killing it on the recipes and editing, bro, great stuff as always :)
Mate, how is this soo good yet soo simple. I’m blown away by the flavours
You might also wanna experiment with recipes with the 2 other types of basil found in Thailand: lemon basil,..but especially holy basil which can be used as a regular ingredient, but is also a fantastic topping when deepfried!
Ethan, once again, great recipe and great vídeo! I really like the way you break it down and organize the information schematically! 😍
I' m a sucker for Thai food and there isnt much of it around here so will definetely try this one as it is thai inspired. About the sauce, how long would you say it lasts in the fridge? Thank you . Keep up your great work!
Oh Juuuummmmmm Ethan!!!!
That looks so good 😊 I’m a stir fry kinda gurl and this is purrrrfect for me😁 Thanks for this recipe!!!!
Looking forward to the next
Just added this recipe to my must cook list, looks delish many thanks.
Thai basil is well worth growing on a patio or in the garden. Adds so much flavor at the end of the dish.
Thanks for always delivering on your promise to consider the home cook. Another one to add to my weeknight dinners👍 sending love from your number one fan in South Africa 🇿🇦
This is why is subbed for quick simple easy healthy meal recipes keep it up
Yum!!!! I’m going to try that recipe ♥️
Easy, tasty, healthy, cheap is the holy grail of meal prep!
This was supremely good and I totally understand that you go back to it. The thai basil definitely makes a difference
Good Day Sir! I just got into your channel and wanted to say thanks! Great channel and I don't sub to much but you got me hooked! Keep up the good work
New subscriber, I made this over the weekend and it was so super delicious, I used french beans because I cannot get sea beans, I added few cloves of garlic with the ginger to saute the vegetables, we cannot stop complimenting this dish, the sauce was heavenly divine. This is a must everyone should try. Thank you so much Ethan.
Didn’t expect Prik Num Pla here. Such a pleasant surprise! That’s really how we eat in Thai.
For the Thai style stir fry, I’d recommend fresh chopped garlic together with chili instead of ginger. The aromatic flavor and texture of garlic go so well with chili every time.
This is why I’m subscribed to your channel. 👍🏼
The rice technique is a revelation! Thank you!
this looks dope... I'm definitely gonna try making this tomorrow!! I need to do some research!
thanks for the idea
That looks fantastic! I love fish sauce and oyster sauce. They are pantry staples for me bc they make everything better😄. I can totally relate to eating the same thing over and over. I make both stir fry and fried rice constantly bc it's super versatile and I love it. I started making these fried egg patties (kinda like what you'd get if you ordered egg foo young) served with gochujang and we ate them for like 2 weeks straight. Yum.
This looks amazing 🤩
Thanks, I'll try that out straight away!
Just tried this recipe with the lady. I figured we'd enjoy since I make Thai Basil quite often, but this is something quite different but equally as simple and flavourful. delicious thanks
Love how you added that little part with the macros using MacroFactor
I've been obsessed with bun cha lately which is probably right up your ally. It's a Vietnamese rice noodle salad dish with nuoc cham which is basically the same as prik nam pla, pickled vegetables, lettuce, a bunch of herbs, and pork but I add whatever meat I'm feeling like. It's the perfect summer food.
Nice Ethan. Make more quick vids like this. Also I enjoy your knife sharpening vids!!!
Looks delicious!!
Thank you for this awesome recipe, I will definitely try it. I appreciate you using metric measurements, just one small advice: we typically measure liquids in units of volume (ml), while the solids are measured by weight (g) and it is not unusual that they are mixed, e.g., x g of rice and y ml of water
I spotted you were using samphire in the thumbnail and I was intrigued! I enjoy it - typically here in the UK we eat it with fish. But I may just try it with chicken now!
So glad I found your channel
Looks fantastic
It's crazy how simple and incredibly delicious this is! I kicked up the sauce with garlic and a little sugar. This will be "A" rotation for sure
Tried out that sauce, great stuff!
Ethan thank you I love this. This is so simple. It reminds me of learning how to make my favorite Thai dish, Pad Ga Prao, which is pretty much this with oyster sauce. Completely devourable.
Ha and then I saw your comment at the end of the video. You are awesome.
I have never heard of that way to make rice, will give it a try👍🏼 Good luck moving in !
Made a version of this tonight! Microwave rice & prepped the sauce. I want sure if I made the sauce right but taste delicious. Will def use other protein varieties during the week. Thanks
I make shite stir fries all the time. Sometimes they're better than others. Sometimes I follow a recipe to the T, sometimes I improvise. I can't even believe how fucking delicious this was. I'm familiar with prik nam pla, never made it before, have had it plenty. Didn't expect this incredibly fast recipe to blow my goddamn mind. I didn't even follow it exactly. Ground pork and a mix of veg, browned the pork real good and added the veg to steam with it. That damn fish sauce lime combo is a no brainer, classic Thai flavors, but like, why did I never seek this out before??
I stopped watching cooking videos after bon appetit blew up a few years ago, and all that Alison Roman shit and whatever. Your videos have rekindled my interest in cooking awesome shit at home. Appreciate your sweet, down to earth, relaxed, honest style a whole lot.
This recipe earned you my subscribe!
thanks for the macros!
Love this added macros picture at the end. Really helps get an estimate when you're trying to lose weight!
This video alone deserve a subscribe! Thank you my friend for the dish
You just added a dollop of spice to my eyeball tongue. Killer motion graphics yes yes. Love everything you do. Thank you. ❤️
I have never believed in love at first sight until I saw this recipe. I'm definitely gonna meal prep this for dinners next week.
Beautiful kitchen
Man I love that you include macros for these. I'd love to see a video with you and Will Tennyson making some tasty food.
Looks amazing Ethan - for what it's worth, garlic + chili as the initial aromatics will get you closer to that pad krapao flavour profile than ginger + scallions. Samphire in that flavour profile sounds awesome though
Great videos man, appreciate the attention to detail and your overall style! Every time I see your mustache, I subsequently PR in the gym.
Great video
I love Thai basil!!!
My method is almost the same but I cook the garlic then chicken first in the wok until light brown, then add the Bok Choi and the sauce. I cover to speed wilt the Bok Choi. When wilted I serve.
can u make a playlist out of such healthy and fast dishes, it would really help pleassse
Yo ethan. It's Justin hafer. Just saw your videos today. Just wanted to say I'm so excited so to see that you made this channel and how well it's doing. Great content man. Can't wait to see more.
I love your whole approach. Samphire is a cool ingredient, I think often eaten with seafood because of its sea association
This is a phenomenal recipe! Just tried it - great. Made some minor changes (a touch of oyster sauce instead of msg) and used rapini since that’s what looked best in the store. Great stuff!
Where did you get sea beans from? Can't find it anywhere
Great macros!
Hey Ethan, loving your channel and this recipe in particular. You mention 'Pad Gra Prow', any chance you could make it here, please? I love that dish and would love to take it to a next level under your guidance. Thanks in advance!
