I always love Barry Gordon's Donatello to me he is Donatello, whenever I read a TMNT comic like IDW for example and when getting into Donatello's dialogue the voice that comes in mind is Barry Gordon.

Why not still? They were my favourite when I was 7 in '87, and they're still my favourite. The other ones rankings have definitely shifted throughout the years.

Honestly the 80s don and 2003 are the most iconic to me whenever the 2003 series wasn't on I was watching the season 2 dvd of the orginal series over and over

Even though Raphael has been my favorite for almost always, I’ve always liked Donnie and in the last few years I’ve found I relate to him more.
Trippy, Donnie has always been my favorite, but Ralph is starting so make sense. Peace.
The one episode where I first saw that got me liking Donatello as my favorite was What's Michelangelo Good For? though I didn't know the title at that time. I love the voice that Barry Gordon gave him. He also plays Razor/Jake with that voice in Swat Kats. Donny from this show has always been my fave turtle ever since!

1987 Donnie was such a loveable dork. I miss that dorky voice of his.
Obvious mention for Mikey is how they censored him in Europe, which in turn affected him in North America for the rest of the series as well as the following series, Next Mutation
Donatello has always been my favorite. I've heard he's also Kevin Eastman's favorite turtle as well. If that's the case, he sure loves making Don suffer! In the 2003 series, Donatello gets sent to a dimension where the Shredder has taken over the world and in the IDW series, he's brutally killed!
lets not forget the incarnation where by the end of it all, Donnie was like 2/3rds machinery

That was the Image comics. They never finished it but they plan to this year. IDW released it this year as TMNT Urban Legends.

I started working on a TMNT fan comic called "A weird world" in which Rise of the TMNT Leonardo's space warp sword had opened up a portal to another dimension and when Donatello and April were wondering where it led to, Raphael just jokingly pushed the both of them in.

That wouldn't be a problem if it weren't for the fact that the two of them didn't get the chance to grab some gear to properly go exploring but an even bigger issue was that Donnie having landing the wrong way broke his foot, leaving them completely helpless. The first people they encounter are the purple dragons, who have a grudge against any turtle and having raided a Foot Clan storage space filled with weapons find the opportunity to get some long overdue revenge impossible to resist.
So if that wasn't a big enough clue that they're no longer in their own dimension, the fact that they got help from a black and silver clad kunoichi and four turtles who are all from the same species sure is. Certainly when they note that that the Leonardo they encounter doesn't use wisecracks and apologizes for arriving late, the Donatello is a much more diverse scientist who also has Medical science mastered and that the Raphael is fighting with consideration for the welfare of the people they were there to save.
This comic is me just having fun with showcasing how different the turtles from one series are from the other.

My favorite turtle.
Funny thing is that Donatello was able to create an inter-dimensional portal that worked flawlessly but when it comes to invent far more simple thing such as a coffee serving machine he fails miserably!
Something I really dislike about the cartoon is that it was way too dependant on Donatello. The turtles without him would be totally HELPLESS because most plots require some sort of convoluted contraption for the turtles to win. On the other hand, Donatello could manage the entire series without the other 3.

i remember being at the movies and i walked by the movie poster for the first movie, displayed in a glass case with a light beaming on it, and the remaining hallway around me being very dark, it stopped me dead in my tracks and i gazed at it, all 4 of them with their colorful headbands peering out of the manhole with nyc behind them, my mind was blown, i was already well into watching the cartoons so this was a BIG deal for me lol, it now burns my ass because all of the toys that "collectors'' have today in plastic still sealed, i had in various drums in my basment, ghostbusters too all of the toys i think my mom gave them away to my sisters son (my nephew) which i didn't care at the time i was past that crap but now i wish i had them lol, and i remember going to my moms work somedays and outside there was a square patch of concrete on the grass, it was like 5 x 5 square, i would act as if it was a roof, like i was leonardo and i was fighting splinter in the ending of the movie, i always carried a sword around, i would strap on one of my belts and keep it in my back lol my pop pop used to tell my mom ''that's smart, arm him'' lol, i was so hyper i had adhd and the turtles rocked

Let's take a moment to talk about the 1987 Donatello or as I like to call him "MY Donnie", not that the other Donatellos aren't great in their own right. Specifically in that Turtles Forever crossover he shined brighter than his brothers. For you see MY Donnie invented an interdimensional STICK, a piece of science even another Donatello was skeptical of, and got it to work to perfection. And MY Donnie didn't go CRYING to Raphael like his brothers. And finally MY Donnie got the best hit on Utron Shredder with the exploding shuriken! You can talk about Leo, Raph, and Mikey all you want but I don't have any doubt in my mind that I put my favoritism on the right turtle!!

What an impressive beak Barry Gordon has lol. So I guess it's official, Donnie's a jew. Uh, I mean "part of the tribe." Not sure if that's PC enough 😬.
How they did his belt was bs in all versions of Donatello. How can His bo be kept on to his belt without sliding down? He must have had a closed off sheath to just drop his staff inside; similar to Leo’s katana sheaths, but wider to fit a bo. If so, then he must have a thick strap across his shoulder with that special sheath attached to it. Then his staff is safe from slipping down and it is a shorter staff than most think. There were different lengths to it, average being height high, or smaller that could be used with both hands or one.
My boy Don is too advanced for that to be of concern. I bet he has magnets embedded in the belt and bo that hold them in place or something.
