I agree, even as a grown up I find myself laughing at Raphael's wise cracks. Especially when he breaks the fourth wall. My hat is off to Rob Paulsen for bringing Raphael to life.
If I were to write a new iteration of the Turtles I'd give Raph a form of Disassociative Identity Disorder caused by head trauma from the fall through the sewer grate into the puddle of ooze as a baby. He would swap between the short-tempered, anger prone "normal" Raph and forth-wall breaking, cool but rude "wise guy" Raph.
You should do Michelangelo next, you know, do them in order of biggest to smallest; Leonardo being 16 and 5'1", Raphael being 15 and 5'1", Michelangelo being 15 and 5'0" and Donatello being the shortest at 15 and 4'9" . . . And by doing it in this order, you save the best for last; my #1 Turtle-Homeboy :D "Turtles fight with honor!" :3
Yay Raphael! Mona Lisa was actually brought back as a love interest for Raphael in the 2012 series as an alien salamander race from another planet. But they break it off after she betrays him and his brothers to save her planet.
Actually no, in that very same episode, after Raph is completely heart broken and lost all the will to fight, she re-ignites his passion by stating that she will always love him. And she returns in season five where she stays on planet earth.
i love his Girlfriend who does later break his heart sadly at the end of the Archie Comic's Ninjara. she ended up i believe finding someone of her own kind and he let her go. that was one of the last issues they ever did actually.
@@rolandofgilead43 Even more emotional was when Raph and NinJara met the future version of Raph and he gave them a strong hint that their relationship wouldn't last. I love how you're doing the profile for each turtle from their perspective years but I'd love to see a history on each turtle from classic all the way through to modern I think that be really cool keep up the great work and Cowabunga
I love cool but rude Raphael. I'm waiting for that version to be more cannon. I'm tired of tough guy Raphael. I really am, I love the rebel part, but I rather have the funny guy.
I agree. Angry, tough guy Raph has had a lot of great moments throughout the many incarnations since the 1987 series. But he has been sort of run into the ground. I'd love to see a new take on the wisecracking Raph who counters his inward depression with comedy rather than rage.
Same here, I really wish that the writers had her appear in more episodes. Still I am happy that she at least got an action figure made by Playmates toys. Many characters exclusive to the 1987 never got this honor, especially the characters from the Red Sky seasons.
David Moore yes his personality in the 87 show was good. It fit him. Then somehow they made him angry (for nothing) in the other adaptations and imho ruined it.
Same here, I study martial arts and I have found that the Sai (Raphael's weapon) fits the hand very well and you can use it to strike from many angles.
This video was cool. But you should do a profile of the ORIGINAL Raphael. He was a freakin' psycho. They say he wasn't the most strategic or the most physical. But he was the DEADLIEST turtle often needing Michaelangelo to be there to balance him out

So interesting thing is that it was said I believe by splinter that no sword could defeat Raphael and his sai. As a kid I thought he should have been the leader or co leader due to this but I feel thwy always downplayed him and his ability.
Will you make profiles on the Mirage versions? Even though they are the original, I find that those turtles had a special ”taste” to them once they developed. Just from what I remember (I can remember wrong, not saying This is fact.) Leonardo’s usual boyscout mentality wasn’t as prevalent like in later versions. He was focused on the mission, yes...but so were the other turtles. They did crack jokes, have discussions and argue but most of the time there was No reason for Leo to say ”remember what master splinter said” every minute. Mickey is nowhere near as over the top or childish as in later versions (which the adult me likes) Mickey is a chill, fun and kind hearted Guy that likes comics and watching tv. But he isn’t adhd in turtle form. He is at worst a bit naive and fun loving. Raphael is his typical angry self, but what I like about this version is that he actually seems to learn from his mistakes and develop. Most series always have at least a couple of ”learn to control anger” episodes. But throughout the Mirage run his outbursts became less common. if he did lose his temper in later chapters it was usually for good reason. Donatello does machines. No but, this Donatello felt more sinister to me at times. He doesn’t always tell The others the whole truth. and some points, he conducts questionable experiments in secret. -- I know the comic is ongoing. But all in all they just seemed more grounded to me, but still interesting and fun characters.
In the 1990 movie, Raphael was played by Josh Pais who was the only actor to both wear the costume and provide the voice for his character. Having training in Karate, helped him land the part. In Secret Of The Ooze Ken Troum(who was the stunt double for Raphael in the first movie) wore the suit and Laurie Faso provided the voice. In the third movie, Matt Hill was the suit performer and Tim Kelleher provided the voice. In the 2007 CGI animated movie, Nolan North was the voice actor for Raphael.
