    Good to see you use great camera gear to show the install. Nothing worse than watching an installer use outdated camera gear that’s grainy and makes you stick your head against the screen to see closely.

    Great Video!!! THANKS for making it. Always good to find videos that are planned out ahead of time and taped in a clean shop without junk laying everywhere... Your on par with Teraflex's videos in my opinion, other than Dennis is a bit funnier(haha, no offense)...

    Ok, couple off things. This guy is Mr. hard way. I mean he must stay up at night thinking off the hardest way to do everything! And second, that out put shaft adapter "coupling" thing has got to be the most questionable thing I've ever seen. And that's saying something.

      +Joel Jandle I did better. L96/4L80e/Atlas4/Prorock 80s. That Fiat transmission will come apart like a grenade under normal service conditions. Go ahead and throw a set of 44 inch tires on that setup, you'll find out what inspired the nick name "just kidding".

    I love the Atlas Transfer Cases but I grew up dirt poor so I was always of the mind they were made for people with to much money who hate to loose. I always ran a NP 205 with the 203 doubler there a pain to get all the parts together to build one but once you have them you never need another transfer case .

    Orientation of the drive shaft and the yoke is not necessary, you only need to do that if you disconnect the drive shaft at the center.

    im curious as to why you set the rotation of the case where you did. According to advanced adapters, they said the best fit is 2 holes over from where you had put yours.

    • @HavocOffroad
      @HavocOffroad  8 лет назад +2

      We placed it there for a few reasons. 1.) We have aftermarket TeraFlex Dana 60 high pinion axles. 2.) The Jeep also only has a 4" lift. We were wanting to run the transfer case as flat as possible. If we would have be running the stock low pinion rear or a 6" lift we would have clocked it down further.

    Did you tell your customer before hand how loud that case is at highway use ??

    • @greggwilson492
      @greggwilson492 7 лет назад

      Im sure the gear driven case is loud by it self but I noticed that just swapping T/C cables makes more noise in the Cab. I put the AdvanceAdapters HD T/C cable kit in my 2011 JK and I can now hear the T/C drive chain spinning at highway speeds, I thought something was wrong, but figured out what it was... The cables AA uses bring the sound vibrations into the cab(airplane shifter type cables, in fact mine said Aviation Cables right on the casing). Im wrong here please correct me someone...

    • @HavocOffroad
      @HavocOffroad  7 лет назад

      +Chris Keech,
      I spoke to our install shop who did this video and here was their reply. "The stock transfer case utilizes "CV" or "Zeppa" joints. When converting to the Atlas you are also converting to a much stronger U-joint and drive shaft. The drive shafts are from Adams.Yes Atlas makes a transfer case for The LJ and Adams make drive shafts for this conversion."

    Interesting... At the end of the day those 4 bolts joining the new coupler halves are all that's responsible for getting the torque to the wheels. Kind of amazed that the flanges aren't toothed or splined at all. If those bolts shear, you're dead in the water.

    • @RobertsAutomotive
      @RobertsAutomotive 6 лет назад

      bolts are stronger than you may think. Gm used only three short 3/8" diameter bolts to couple the flex plate to the converter for years. Good to near 500 horse. any more and you will want a 6 bolt heavy duty converter and a good flex plate

    • @mcplutt
      @mcplutt 5 лет назад

      @@RobertsAutomotive the converter flex plate has a lot bigger diameter, and the force on the bolts will be less.
