For anyone visiting India, when Indians tell you not to do something, you should stay as far away from it as possible. I know that Noel was adequately warned about not flying this airline by Indians and he did it nevertheless bcs that's a review he'd never wanna miss, but seriously man, don't fly this airline.😂
Never trust any one

Lost it when the camera went on the sleeping barefoot man 😂😂😂
Cant affoŕd travel insurance cant afford to fly my opinion life insurance is weird 1 though prety sure air asia ( used to ) advertising onboard for insurance
That slogan for SpiceJet "Let's Get High Together" is certainly giving mixed messages.
Thanks Noel for bringing us some more amazing content from around the world.
Ok, that has me converted… Although I’d rather the traditional plant based herb, rather than ‘Spice’
Then you can stop off at the snack shop if you get some munchies...
An airline with a slogan "Let's get high together" with Life insurance advert on both side of the bulkhead does not exactly spell confident...
@@cosplayshop Lmao. Jeepers, after the lamp post too..
Well, they are always high 😂
One thing I like at your videos is that you are doing the painfull economy and low cost side of Aviation as well. There are much enough guys doing the 1000th Qatar Businessclass video. Stay as you are Noel!
I flew them a few years back. Love the "lets get high together" - Also, as the back wheels touched down for landing, at least a dozen people were up and grabbing for luggage. By the time the front wheel touched down another 50 were standing up. Before taxiing off the runway, 50% were out of their seats. I looked at the FA, she just shook her head. "nothing I can do"
People in overpopulated countries eventually start acting like that. Doesn't get you off the airplane any faster.
That's just the way they are . You can't really change that haha . It occurs on Emirates too. I was shocked seeing them all get up. One of them allowed a case to fall on a lady's head . All the Indians were out of the seats whilst everyone else stayed with their seat belts fastened lol
Indians do have a tendency to get up before the sealbelts sign come off, but I've never seen a single person get up before the plane gets off the runway and slows down to taxi speed, and I travel pretty frequently.
@@truthhurts4732 and it may be allowed in spicejet but have never seen that happen in indigo....
@@truthhurts4732 a massive safety risk though
The moment they started charging you at the desk, would be a reason for me to cancel my flight at the spot. And you stayed calm and polite, respect for that!
Would be a short video though ;-)
Yeah. They were digging for any way to charge more.

Cancel? And being stuck in india?
@@HLl564 He went to Delhi, he still would be in India😉. You will find bad airlines worldwide, would love to visit India some day.
You can actually see Noel's eyes water when he steps in to the Loo - This man is taking his personal safety to a whole new level.
The ‘Loo Review’ is always the highlight, this particular one even more so.
Well, it was, after all 'spice'jet ...... :)
He's in there filming and talking and I would have had my lips pursed and trying not to breath as much as I could stand and in a sprint to get out of it!
I fast forwarded that bit, lol.
Someone crapped. It happens.
The bigger concern is, how well does this airline maintain its aircraft from an airworthiness standpoint? If management seemingly can't get its act together with ticketing and cabin cleanliness, what else is it screwing up with? Verdict: unsafe until proven otherwise.
"He who is unfaithful in little, is unfaithful in much."
Don't worry the safety record is good. India ranks high on that metric also it's a budget airline (cleanliness is not the priority)
@@anishapoorwakispotta7754Indian airlines have a pretty awful safety record lol
The only Indian airline with a concerning safety record has to be Air India’s “express” subsidiary with some questionable crew. No other airlines present much of a challenge.
@@wockheart1916 exactly how?

Also perfect fit for a "Spice" Jet.
Spicejet was once a very good airline, with better service than other low cost airlines, a decade ago. It did have financial issues, almost was on the verge of closure. It did come back into life, but was not managed properly, thereafter. As of now, Indigo is the winner when it comes to low cost airlines in India, while service still lacks. I would always recommend you full service flights like Air India and Air Vistara. Stay connected Noel!🙌
Once you see Spirit airlines in the USA you would appreciate Indigo far more.
@@RaghunandanReddyC I haven’t flown Spirit yet but I’m under the impression that the name comes from passengers wanting to get drunk to blunt the experience…

My corporate clients would fly around India on business. Whenever I offered Spicejet they would almost choke... "Anyone but them." Life insurance on a plane makes sense. We leave from a 'terminal' after all. Another great video Noel.
You know it’s going to be a great flight when they have to stop plowing the field with the tractor to bring the Sky Steps out to the plane…
🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴 also the bear foot guy give 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
Tractors are often used like that in many airports in india, they are not used for farming. The reason is because its very widely available, cheap, easily fixable and has enough torque. Quite an ingenious solution if you ask me.
@@sbrowman777is it considered that bad bruv? I also do that, after 12 hours of waiting and flying. I am honestly very tired wearing my shoes.
Can we all just agree that Noel is a great dude for showing us all flights most of us will never actually take for fear of crashing a plane into a lamp post.😅
He's way too overdramatic but his channels decent
@@jamesblueberry8581 Part of the "sell" most youngens love the constant drama, a la reality tv

Lol
When the other plane hit the lamp post it was probably the fault of the tug driver who would have been in charge of where the plane was taken. The crew would probably be unaware of the danger and trusting the driver.
Well, Being an Indian and being a pilot myself for Lufthansa. I can tell you with my experience 'When In India use Air India or Indigo'.
Hats off to you mate for being so brave and filming these adventures for us. Great content always, wishing you and yours well from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cheers man!
Fun fact Noel, George Orwell was born in Bihar. Motihari to be precise is 140 km west of Darbhanga
This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Between the look on your face after seeing that man’s feet, the comments about not hitting a lamp post, the snack bar name, and the stinky loo review…I was rolling. 🤣
Raw material for a situation comedy? (viz Film : 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels', scene in which Steve Martin is desperately trying to explain his circumstances to the local police chief in a small seaside town in Southern France / Cote d'Azure?)
The snack bar name was rather colorful
the things you have to endure to bring us honest reviews of airlines is #respect and #appreciation!
I’ll never complain about my flight ever again after watching this. But then I just watched a blog about Air Peace And I’ve got high standers 😂😂
I found the Darbhanga part of this video rather interesting.
Darbhanga airport, located in the state of Bihar, is an Indian Air Force (IAF) base and includes a small civil enclave (hence the separation of the civil apron/passenger terminal). A temporary prefab structure was built a few years back but once the airport authority is able to acquire more land (ca 80 acres) from IAF, a new larger passenger terminal will be constructed. This could happen sometime this year.
Flights operated from this airport are under the Regional Connectivity Scheme initiated by the Govt. of India and subsidised.
That explains the contrast between the civil terminal which is tiny vs the large runway and airport grounds.
@@crBudgetWatches Yes and in addition a limited time window is available for airlines to operate at the airport. Hopefully the present prefab structure will also see some expansion.
Yeah land acquisition is underway to build a bigger permanent terminal in darbhanga. Let’s hope it happens soonz
This scheme is called UDAN. Its dubbed as India's alternative bullet train. With all the issues imagine travelling from BLR to foot hills of Nepal in 2.5 hours at 7K rupees.
I was already surprised that he was filming in the airport which was a big "not allowed" when I travelled to India some years ago. But reading here thst it's also an IAF I am even more surprised that he wasn't told to stop.
I LOVE the SpiceJet themed tractor. You don’t get that on Emirates.
Being a pilot, I assume the flying part was done well and no issues with the piloting did occur. When I fly, that is my main concern. Thanks for the flight.
Most probably yes, as us being pilots, our job is to literally try to make it one of the most boring flights possible.
Spicejet is horrible, indigo has a better experience. Yes it costs a little more but at least you don't have a terrible experience.
well yes, as a baseline. I'd like NOT to die. But my expectations are a bit higher than not dying lol
Noel this series/ trip across India is really spectacular! Great work as always!
I'm having my tea, settled in for the episode, I almost spat my tea out in laughter at the life insurance, that's hilarious, no Noel, not a good sign :P
Literally not a good sign lol
There was so much hidden humor in this video! It had me laughing through most of it!
Agreed! It was the cafe name then a segway straight in to the ad for a male intimate grooming set for me….🤣
Nol, I am so sorry but I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at someone's misfortune before in my life. Talk about a flight from hell. Another fantastic video and thank you so much for suffering for all of our enjoyment & entertainment.
Lovely Video! I worked in Airline ground Handling at Zurich for 7 years (we handled around 70 Airlines) and among those we had as well some Spice Jet style companies. Was always fun in a way to switch during one Shift from premium Airline Handling to not so extremely premium ones:-))
You are a brave man, Noel. A brave, brave man. Flying that rotten airline firstly, and then swatting away the check-in desk's hard-sell of their Max seats.
You'd be better off walking than enduring their service.
Fun fact: the original airline was mentored by Lufthansa, before it was bought by the current owner and was renamed Spicejet.
I suppose it could be worse. They could show you a heat map of the survivability rates in the cabin in the event of a crash for various seats and price them accordingly. "Oh, you want a 50% seat? That will be 500 rupees extra"
True. Spicejet used to be ModiLuft, a joint venture with LH.
@@Canleaf08 At first I thought you are trolling the Indian PM, but then googled, and damn... it was really named ModiLuft... a weird name indeed.. 😂😂
But didn´t he buy the max seat in the end? He sat in 1A and had 4A reserved prior. Or are you allowed to switch inflight as soon as boarding is completed on Spicejet? Also... that staredown from the guard with the rifle at 12:50 gave me the creeps
Broken aircon vent makes one wonder what is hidden beneath the skin of the plane thats cracked too. Your a brave man Noel, Id be more worried about the mechanical condition.🥴
same here
Reminds me of a story my wife told me once. Right after the USSR collapsed she took a dirt cheap weekend tour of St. Petersburg offered by Aeroflot. During the climb after takeoff as a stewardess was coming down the aisle A BOLT comes rolling down the center. She literally kicked it out of the way. When she got to her seat the ask if she wanted anything all she could say was VODKA!
Absolutely.
havn't the indian authority been checking aircraft recently ?especially spicejet aircraft got bad marks against them
At face value (literally), the air vent being OOO is hardly anything to get too upset about. Things break on airplanes all the time, however most airlines know that something like this can send the wrong message to their customers and tend to get them fixed at the first opportunity. It sounds like this sort of thing is fairly common on SpiceJet, unfortunately, and it certainly doesn't say much about their attention to customer experience, which as Noel showed, is already quite bleak. They haven't lost a plane yet but it's not for a lack of trying - let's hope their pilot training and aircraft maintenance are far better than their customer service and onboard experience.
I'm so glad you arrived safely! Some of these broken down airplanes really scare me ! Stay safe and travel well ! ❤️
Noel, I'm a musician and fly a few times monthly for shows and whatnot. I really used to hate flying and was frankly quite scared of it. Your vids have definitely helped put me at ease when it comes to traveling by plane lately.

We’ve all had miserable experiences with trains, planes, buses, cars, and parking and walking places. This guy helps me put those experiences into perspective: 1. Well, I got home safe…. 2. So why did I think it was SO important to leave ONE day early (Greyhound c 2005); 3. I sure would have benefited from some role-playing practice (frozen in fear as a teen while a passenger rubbed my leg) on a Greyhound or Trailways bus back in the day. 4. No harm done (falling face first down a moving escalator @ Penn station, NYC 2018).
This guy has a great way of making this all seem funny.

Nothing drives me more crazy then not getting what I legitimately paid for. 🤦🏽♂️

Appreciate you taking the pain to show the flyers, the plight of SpiceJet Airlines. Though SpiceJet started as one of the best low cost airliner, it had it's ups and downs in the past decades. They're absolutely in their descent phase as of now. If they could down size their operations and concentrate more on improving their quality of service and safe operations, there are good chances they could survive and hope for revival. When you're in India next time, you may have a brand new low cost carrier Akasa Airlines and a resurrected Jet Airways 2.0 in domestic air service. Keep it up Noel & be blessed.
Very nice. Thank you. ( After these arduous travel system experiences, it's always nice to see your destination room of pleasurable high-end normalcy...)
You are seriously brave. Never mind the pole crashes, a luke warm chicken dish must have been a recipe for a jet of spice later.

Noel flys so much he sounds like a captain speaking over the in flight intercom 😆

In fairness the lampost was hit whilst they were being pushed back, I believe. Hardly the fault of the airline.

You're lucky your flight wasn't canceled 😂 I m a frequent flyer & in my life I had booked twice with them ... both the flights never actually flew.
It's many years since I was in India - 1990s - things have changed.
Identifying our luggage was a huge thing- it was all piled on to the apron and we had to tell the officials which was ours as we boarded and only then was it was loaded.
Back then we all had to identify our bags as we stood outside the plane waiting to get on.
A quick note on the life insurance ad on the plane. Back in the mid ‘60s my father would fly out of capital airport in Springfield Illinois on Ozark Airlines DC3 aircraft. In the airport lobby there were 4-5 vending machines where you could purchase a life insurance policy on the passenger for that particular flight. Never gave a much younger me a warm feeling about my dad boarding flights then.

I'd start to get really concerned if there was an upcharge for a parachute.
The shape of the planes and airline really reflects the state of a third world country in general. Chaos everywhere, no sense for standing in line, no sense for traffic laws, all infrastructure looks terrible. I mean, most buildings you see looks ready for demolition. Old tractors as airport vehicles, really?
Hi Noel, huge fan of your channel. I know you have a young family, but I wondered you considered spending a full day or 2 at your destination to see the daily life of the people there. Similar to Dale Philip, Bald and Bankrupt etc. It would make an excellent 2nd video content of your trip.

Interesting air flow you had at your seat on the 2nd flight. Most airlines would take that seat out of operation until that was fixed. Nice hotel room!
Bonus points for not hitting a light post. DOH!
This is what I might be thinking to myself: For those who have flown both SpiceJet and Ryanair is SpiceJet India's equivalent to it?
They are worst than that.
Yep, kinda
Compare to Spicejet, Raynair will be like an emirates first class. Atleast he didnt get oil stain on the windows or fungi in the head rest or a house lizard.
Yeah
Not really, as atleast with Ryanair atleast the fares are more value for money so to speak (you get what you paid for basically)
Great video as usual! Would love to see some long European train vids in the future?

I thought the hard sell was bad enough on Ryanair ( scratchoffs , etc) but 10min in the checkin pushing a upgrade is nuts. is the upsell this bad for locals too?
Yup. These are loss making airlines. Do everything to get extra sales.
They give up quicker for locals
maybe because he was a white guy?
If they don't fix a simple air vent it makes you wonder what else they haven't fixed. I would never fly them!
they probably have a minimum equipment list so it’s legal and safe for them to fly with little things broken
