I love this breed not just because of their great looks and performance, but also their fascinating history. They were created by the Nez Perce people of the state of Idaho, who unlike other tribes who used horses, actually used strict selective breeding and turned them into prized and beautiful horses that they used for everything from transport, to hunting, to war (so yeah, not bred for ranch work, but certainly great at it). When the Nez Perce were conquered, the horses were nearly forgotten about for almost 60 years, but thankfully got some attention from a popular equestrian magazine in the 30s, and managed to become quite popular in the last century. I'd really like to have some of these horses IRL someday.

I've got the leopard appaloosa on online, and as someone who has had so many different horses, this one is as close to perfect as you can hope for. i think personally each horse has a personality you tame/buy it with, (mostly but not always) regardless of breed. I had the grey (white) arabian, and although a bit sensitive she didn't buck me off when a grizzly caught us off guard
Cogburn: "How long you been riding sheep down there?" La Beouf: "My white appaloosa will still be galloping when that big American stud of yours is winded and collapsed!"
The Appaloosa is one of my favourite horses in rdr2 but I just wish I could get Charles’s grey snow capped spotted coat I’ve wanted one ever since I started the game
for the four stable spaces you get, i often have horses come and go in two of them. but i always keep my few spotted appaloosa, and my sooty buckskin dutch warmblood. Both of them are fantastic. Perfect for long distance travel (which i do all the time), they both never buck me off, even when wolves are right next to me. Really, can't think of a single down side on either of them.
I have a black and white spotted Appaloosa right now and she is the best horse I’ve ever had! She had a whole pack of wolves surrounded nipping at her and she didn’t even try to buck me off. She is just the best horse.
In my current playthrough i got the leopard appaloosa from the mission in chapter 4 and i was going to call her Pongo (from 101 dalmatians) but that was somehow seen as profanity so i called her Ponga and i love her so much.
My No No and Thrice No appaloosa has been my best horse, she stood up to a pack of odriscolls and a panther at the same time without bucking, the only time she's ever thrown me was when attacked by 7 wolves, and that was after we handled 5 already
For those who are wondering about the few spotted appaloosa: I have ONLY found her in big valley near hanging dog ranch. Its going to take quite a few tries and camps to have her spawn since she is a rare horse coat. *She's spawned here twice for me
Just wanted to let you know I found a bounty hunter on a flaxen roan Tennessee walker outside of valentine. He was just riding on it. (It’s a horse only buyable in the tumbleweed stable)

They were bred by Native Americans. And we’re meant to be more stubborn and wild than other horse breeds.
You forgot the rarest Appaloosa coat, The Few Spot. Thats how rare it is. It even eludes the horse master here on youtube lol
The video was most likely out before the few spotted was added in
I've got the leopard appaloosa on online, and as someone who has had so many different horses, this one is as close to perfect as you can hope for. i think personally each horse has a personality you tame/buy it with, (mostly but not always) regardless of breed. I had the grey (white) arabian, and although a bit sensitive she didn't buck me off when a grizzly caught us off guard
There's a new appaloosa now, it's almost white with just a few small black spots. Spawns in NPC camps in the Heartlands
That Leopard is my favorite horse in the game.
I tamed the leopard Appaloosa in the mission in chapter 4 where you have to talk to mary-beth then go save Tilly
The brown leopard appaloosa has been probably my most loyal and my most fearless one out of all the ones I've had
Cogburn: "How long you been riding sheep down there?"
La Beouf: "My white appaloosa will still be galloping when that big American stud of yours is winded and collapsed!"
I've this in my stable no idea why just love dalmatian dots
Same
The Appaloosa is one of my favourite horses in rdr2 but I just wish I could get Charles’s grey snow capped spotted coat I’ve wanted one ever since I started the game
Great video! I'll admit I enjoy riding around on pretty horses and hunting the most. Its a pity you can not stable all of them😐
As someone who accually rides apps, they got these horses nearly perfect 💀
Also your videos are amazing
I found one at a camp, It was a "Few Spotted" coat... Amazing horse...
for the four stable spaces you get, i often have horses come and go in two of them.
but i always keep my few spotted appaloosa, and my sooty buckskin dutch warmblood.
Both of them are fantastic.
Perfect for long distance travel (which i do all the time), they both never buck me off, even when wolves are right next to me. Really, can't think of a single down side on either of them.
blanket appaloosa is my favorite and i dot. regret stealing it from william
They consider the name "Torrential" to be profanity also, LoL
WTF
When I first got the Leopard Coat my reaction was like the collector in Guardian's
Congratulations, great video, you prefer leopard appaloosa , grey overo paint horse or rose grey AndalusIan ?
1. Leopard Appaloosa
2. Rose Grey Andalusian
3. Grey Overo American Paint
My No No and Thrice No appaloosa has been my best horse, she stood up to a pack of odriscolls and a panther at the same time without bucking, the only time she's ever thrown me was when attacked by 7 wolves, and that was after we handled 5 already
For those who are wondering about the few spotted appaloosa:
I have ONLY found her in big valley near hanging dog ranch. Its going to take quite a few tries and camps to have her spawn since she is a rare horse coat.
*She's spawned here twice for me
I've seen it at the oil derrick among other places.
One of my favorite horses by far
Just wanted to let you know I found a bounty hunter on a flaxen roan Tennessee walker outside of valentine. He was just riding on it. (It’s a horse only buyable in the tumbleweed stable)
I acquired a leopard coat appaloosa during the chapter 4 mission. She was my personal favorite and had crazy good stamina. Was salt to the wound at the end of the game when she died.
I got that white horse from the beginning of the game. She was beautiful and I named her War. She was fast as jet and brave as a lion.
Great video but you missed a coat variant. Probably the rarest horse in-game it’s called the Few Spot Appaloosa. Took me 6 irl days to find it, good luck 👍🏻
Missouri Fox Trotter is one of the best horses in the game. The Mustang is in my opinion the 2nd.
Nobody asked
@@mangukahaaotearoa9324 - I don't care, I just simply stated my opinion.
@@thecowboy9698 nobody cares
I ha an appaloosa in real life as a child, they are such intelligent and loyal horses, they're my 3rd favorite breed in the world, right below my #2 The Kladruber, and my #1 The Clydesdale
Leopard Applausa and Chestnut pinto Kentucky Sadler are probably the most beautiful looking horses in this game.
Appaloosa's and American Paints are my favorite horse irl. I'd love to own a few.
You're a girl right ?
@@thefunder1 Nah, I'm a dude named Kimberly.
I once saw a leopard blanket appaloosa spawn in an npc camp, but i’ve only seen one common appaloosa spawn this way, you’re more likely to come across the white spotted hose this way.
I saw a wild white appaloosa nearby a waterfall below the legendary moose area. It saw me and bolted away. Jus like the wild white arabin.
Love your rdr2 videos on the horses but I’m having trouble finding the Ardennes. Do you have one?
there is a free one in Valentine's stable IF you pre ordered the game the Iron grey coat I guess
The Bay Roan and Strawberry Roan coats can be purchased from a stables
Bay roan from scarlet meadow's stable at chapter 2 and the Strawberry Roan from Van Horn stable at chapter 6
however I got a Bay Roan from bounty hunters.
Why do I love these Appaloosas so much. w h y.
There are a plethora of horses with far better stats. But these babies. UGH MY HEART.
I found a real pretty leopard Appaloosa today and named her Cookie 😌. I wish I could have more than 4 horses. I got a brindle thoroughbred named Molly, palomino dapple American standardbred named Boxer and a Turkoman named Cerberus. And Cookie, the Appaloosa.
Oh darn. I was hoping you'd tell us how to get a few spotted, but I guess that horse came with an update. I hate those long drawn out videos so many of the other rdr2 youtubers do.
wheres the few spotted appaloosa?
