unpopular opinion: everything sounds angry in any language if you yell it
@The Message you wish
Deutsch hört sich auch wütend order hart an wenn man es normal spricht. Das bestätigt dir jeder Ausländer.
@@mergere1163 tatsächlich hat mir das noch keiner bestätigt und ich habe ein Auslandsjahr gemacht :)
@@leonie364. Herzlichen Glückwunsch 🍭
@@mergere1163 danke danke :)
Fun fact: In the german version of Scrubs they made her speak danish instead of german.
And in the German dub of The Simpsons Üter is Swiss.
@@borismuller86 Wollte gerade das gleiche schreiben 😃
Wait, there is a German version?
@@Chelios__ Actually Scrubs is a remake of Die Schwarzwaldklinik. You should check it out if you can find a subtitled version. Funnier than Scrubs but hard to translate.
@@bastardslayer5625 HAHAAHAHAHAAHAHA
If you would speak german like this to a native german they would call Die Polizei!
Alles klar Herr Kommissar?
@@marccuypers2439 Ja Offizier, alles ist in Ordnung
Verständlich, man könnte meinen du hast den Verstand verloren
"Why does everything in German sound so angry?" Well, maybe because everytime you speak German you want to make fun of it by forcefully yelling it? When you speak it normally, it does not sound aggressive actually
Ever heard of comedy?
well it seems like Germans have no humor
@Snoozzler if that isn't butthurt, I don't know what is....
Hitler is obviously globally infamous, and he spoke German aggressively, and that's what today's society is left with.
It's a Nordic based language. "Nordic" being the native language the Vikings spoke; which was a very aggressive and violent cultural society of people. But regardless of the history, the phonetic sound of German pronunciation, is straight up heavy and rugged by nature.
@@AnthonyBerkshire You ever went in germany? Do you really think you´ll get OUR kind of humor? ;o)
Americans: Always yelling when speaking or imitating german
Also americans: Why does german sound so aggressive???
It just lends itself for yelling. It’s a harsh language. Not soft like other languages. They are just having fun. Not that serious😉
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 you're right (it is just fun - it doesn't matter) ....
But no, German can be the softest and most melodic language. At least if a beautiful woman speaks Austrian German. It is SO melodic :)
Lol
I'm guessing part of the reason is due to World War II and war movies that followed.
Here it is in German. Ich vermute, ein Teil des Grundes ist auf den Zweiten Weltkrieg und die folgenden Kriegsfilme zurückzuführen. Listen to it on Google translator.
I am not sure how good her German really is, but she is really good at making it sound a lot angrier than it normally sounds :-)
Yes she is exaggerating a lot
and yes it is legit German.
Not the best I've ever heard but legit.
I am german. she do it well!
She speaks fluent German, her mother is from Rostock
It's good for the most part but i couldn't rly figure out what she wanted to say in german when she talked about his hair
From what I have seen her German is pretty good. And she knows it is not a so called "angry sounding language", she is just shouting it for entertainment purposes.
And that kids is how stella went on conan o'brien's talk show
IM JED MOSLEY!!!
🤣🤣🤣
Can't believe this was 15 years ago. Time flies so fast.
Damn I feel old.
Can't believe this was 18 years ago.
German isnt an aggressive language. Its beautiful. And i love it very much. ♥️
I learned to speak German normally at college, which does not involve shouting. 😁
That’s true, but your interview with Conan would probably be much less entertaining.
Your professor was probably not a native speaker. Or they've been away from Germany so long they've lost their shout.
My first professor was a German man who was Jewish and moved to the US in his twenties. He would kick people in the feet if they were caught sleeping in class, though.
really? but german is to be shouted. we all shout. all the time.
I'm so high right now I thought she was speaking German already
Seeing this as a german....it´s just stupid. Nobody in german sounds like that and nobody would talk in such a harsh tone when he/she says something in german. Just plain stupid....it´s the same when I would yell everything in english...
that's what I thought. No wonder these prejudices prevail when celebrities promote them in such a questionable way...
@The Message "Jetzt ist sie mir viel symphatischer (,) seitdem ich weiß (,) das(s) sie Deutsche ist(.)" Just a couple of corrections in the brackets. But well done! Just four mistakes in one sentence!
@@willyjohnsons_member6019 If you're gonna correct people, do it properly. That's not how you spell "sympathisch". ;-)
After having lived in Germany and Austria I can confirm that, it's just pointless stereotypes. And Schlagsahne in Austria is Schlagobers, which sounds even cuter. ❤️😍🇦🇹
And for the 9439th time Germans once again prove that they don't understand when someone is joking and takes everything super seriously.
When you yell every language sounds like that...
Nice loke
My friend is German and I hear her talk on the phone to her family and she doesn't sound anything like that.
Thanks for the confirmation, we germans hate when people make fun of us for some reason. We are butthurt AF, thats a true fact. Viel Glück und viel Segen auf all deinen Wegen!
Wie kann man denn so nen Stock im Arsch haben? Ach du scheiße, lacht doch einfach.
Yeah they sound very sweet actually.

It’s a joke. Get a sense of humor!
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 A funny one to, we see them as quite camp over here. "ooo zis is a very nice uniform wiz zee matching boots, danke."
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 O.K. you are right! That is if your sense of humour is laughing at the the same lame and uninspired made up stereotype what you call humour of course... Hahaha...
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 It's not funny and repetitive. Americans need to develop a sense of humour.
Guess she was told by one of the schmucks who run the station to make German sound angry. Conan's just a dumb Mick happy to play along.
And they say Germans don't have a sense of humour, just look at this comment section 😂
Who says that?
You mean these “I have to correct you” comments.
as pointed out so many times already... quality humour and sad, old, lack of creativity humour are two kinds of things. americans hardly speaking any other language (besides of course quality words as "baguette", "fromage" and "bratwurst" when they claim they studied 5 years of any language - and most sadly often did so!) yelling german just isn´t as much fun as it used to be 30 years ago.
@The Message who? Müller? Klopp?
I actually like German sound. Listen to German news with a female news reader; it sounds quite sophisticated and pleasing to the ear
I think you're confusing German news and German porn
I just ADORE Sarah Chalke. Dr. Elliot Reed was the best character on Scrubs and she played it brilliantly!
She is so gorgeous, so funny and so likeable. She makes me want to re watch Scrubs.
Well, I am German and it actually doesn't sound like that at all...
right? it may also be possible that we are able to speak normally instead of yelling through all our sentences.
Well Germans have no humor
No german speaks like this.
I know an Austrian who did

Yeap, you can make any language sound like that when doing a parody of a Hitler speech.
German is actually the "language of poets" , just sayin'.
Meanwhile, "and then I was like... And then she was like... Then I was like oh my God..." pretty much sums up all the vocabulary and grammar to follow an English conversation. 😂
@@-DaMox- haha ja wirklich
Its just jokes exaggeration
Germans are known around the world for their beautifully melodic yet easy to learn language.
When we speak English, we all sound like Werner Herzog: "Look into the eyes of a chicken and you will see real stupidity."
Ooh Varoufakis!!
She speaks German the way our good old uncle Adolf spoke. :D
If you want proper German speaking invite
Sandra Bullock. If you want proper French speaking invite Jodie Foster.
say anything angry it sounds angry..but yeah, when she did her German lines on Scrubs it was always good lol
Nobody in Germany speaks like this. ANZEIGE IST RAUS!!!
It's only for the sake of comedy, come on!

different languages can be a beautiful and interesting thing. i'm not forbiding people to make stereotypical jokes but sometimes i just wanna see non-german people speak german because it's interesting but then it's like 'haha german sounds aggressive' and so on.... kinda sad
she is the reason i want to learn german
How she says „Heiße Schokolade mit Schlagsahne zum Frühstück“ is completely free of any American Accent. Thats impressive! And to translate it: „Hot chocolate with Cream for Breakfast“
actually its not free of accent and even if it was.. how exactly would that be impressive seeing how she not only learned it as a child but also her mothers family is german...
Conan is the best talk show host of all time
strange how you wrote graham norton
I love you, Sarah.
I remember when I first saw the scene in scrubs where she was speaking german I was shocked because as a german I couldn't understand a word, it sounded so horrible!!
Weird cause as a Dutchie even I could understand her german...
She is gorgeous 😍 ❤️
german doesnt sound like this for sure.. shes just yelling
She's gorgeous
That`s exactly how i speak here in Germany. After 6-7 Mass of beer, 2-3 Kurze and a drunk american tourist screaming in my face in the bathroom of the Schottenhamel Festzelt after i lauphed about his fake Lederhose..
Holy smokes, the Elliot laugh is real! Awesome actress, wish you'd see her more!

Sarah Chalke was my TV crush, I love Scrubs
The largest ethnic group in America is German. Some members of my family are German Americans. They are the nicest people I have ever met and they work so hard.
The punch in the nose of a shark is told to navy soldiers because the studies done on sharks is that their nose has a ton of nerve endings, so it actually overloads their nervous system if you hit their nose and they can't function right for a while after that.
Hopefully none of us ever need to use it, but there it is.
Well one of my childhood Crushes still looks like when i was younger.
This clip is 15 years old.
This is how Charles Chaplin speaks as Adenoid Hynkel in the film "The Great Dictator"! It would be insane if people would talk like that here in my German homeland. I think a lot of Americans think that we are walking around here in lederhosen, constantly eating sauerkraut and yelling at each other. It's like assuming that everyone in the United States wears a cowboy hat, only eats hot dogs and cheesburgers, and keeps chewing gum while talking.
I love how all the germans are triggered perfectly shows how they handle jokes.
Firefly lane though 💙 and she’s still as beautiful as ever
you left mosby on the altar to attend conan?
Fun Fact: Germans pretty much invented romanticism as a graphic arts, poetry, literature and philosophy movement.
Also, it's no use saying things even like "hot chocolate soup with whipped cream on top for breakfast" (BTW. she actually did say it correctly and with quite a decent accent and pronunciation FOR AN AMERICAN) and hope to have it sound non-threatening, if you're producing the phrase with all possible anger you can muster.
But she’s Canadian
yeah I know. But I don't think even the audience 100 % believes that. It's a running gag where everybody plays along. A myth that keeps getting fed. If people want it to be true it's true for them I guess.
Sounds like her teacher was a psychopath
The undertitle is totally wrong. It has nothing to do with this interview.
Sigh...I guess we deserve this given the fact of what we have done to the world...but let's say this: in a normal conversation we usually don`t yell at each other.
I prefer Germans who yell than Germans who cuck out.
We don’t talk like that
I hate it when don’t know anything and insult other
She must have come from a very angry family then if they yell like that..
She said her mom's family is German.
@@falsemcnuggethope Yes but not all Germans yell. Even in Germany it would be aggressive and angry if you yell like that!
@@Denis-89 It must be difficult to communicate then if everyone thinks everyone else is aggressive and angry.
An English teacher once told me; "don't learn how to speak German, it's so difficult", and now I've seen it all, she was right. Nevertheless, the only German I know is Warmduscher, which means "a person who takes warm showers".
Yes a coward, a sizzy. A precautious person who never takes chances and always plays it safe. That's the real meaning behind it when you call somebody that. A killjoy really.
Did anyone notice how Sarah and Conan are attracted to each other? It's so nice to see that )))
As a German, I strongly approve.
So based on the comment section, the easiest way to aggro the Germans is to yell in German 😆😆
It sounded like she said... with a piece of whipped cream.
To everyone wondering: Yes, you do know her from How I met your mother. It's Stella
The first guest was Alan Cumming (Threepenny Opera). The musical guest was Living Things. episode 2170
If you would shout "I LOVE YOUR BIG RED HAIR!!!" in someone's face with crazy eyes it also sounds intimidating.
Germans don't walk around and shout all the time. Hate how Americans portray German language as aggressive. And no, I don't speak German.
I do and I concur.
Way to go Sarah! 🤣👍#fakebecky
And that kids is how I meet my german accent doctor who ran away from our wedding
She wasn't even in the ostrich scene!
I dont speak German but have German friends.. and it doesn't sound aggressive at all. These Americans just want to exaggerate and show it in bad light stereotype.
Now that was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Elliot Reid. I miss Scrubs
She is the female version of him!
I hate how everyone yells anything in German so that it sounds angry.
Hey it’s Rick’s daughter
This is why my german neighbours are always shouting. got it.

I live in Germany and yes, Germans do speak like this all the time
So many people telling that German doesn't sound like that. What are you doing here? Conan is a comedian. This show is about jokes
Why those 80 year old jokes than?
The intonation is acting. Some here in comments were angry about it. But, is her pronunciation good? 'Cause I can't imitate it.
Yes, her pronounciation is actually pretty good! It rather sounds like a western-german dialect, while you would expect an canadian accent.
As a German I am offended - but she is cute so I will forgive...
As a german myself, i can confirm we do indeed sound like this.
Nah we don’t shout like this 🤣
Love Sarah. Scrubs is running on reruns now.

Sarah Chalke is such a strange one for me... everytime I see her, I am blown away that she looks the way she does
but at the sametime I feel like she's had the same look for forever since she found the look that works for her, if that makes sense
Damn, I really wish she would JUST ONCE talk like a normal person in German! She's always exaggerating so much when speaking, it's really annoying. Weirdly enough she's not doing it when speaking French although the effect would very much be the same.
Because they spoke a little bit German I declare this Comment Section zum Eigentum der Bundesrepublik Deutschland
