She definitely didn't articulate it well but that was kinda wack that everyone was acting like her viewpoint was completely unfounded when it was just trying to be feminist/body positive for young women.

@@ThomasJ502 I have to accept your point of view. It never struck me that way. I've been in situations with certain people & that would not have been a problem. But it was not strangers together in front of a few million other strangers. I was quite shocked when I read about a lady w afro hair who found it insulting if someone reached out & touched her hair because they liked it or were curious - there was no mention of pubic hair, just the liberty of touching. I found that odd as to me it was a compliment. People have touched my hair but not in the context of pubic hair. I have to defer to your opinion, however, I can perhaps imagine myself in the past doing that without thinking- to touch someone's hair, as I might their jacket, & say how much I liked it. But in this day & age I wouldn't, & if I ever had done that & it offended someone, I would be deeply upset that my "liking" in an innocent manner was offensive. Sometimes taking offense can be an offense in itself. Sometimes. I can understand about the pubic hair, yet I can also see it as a non-offensive joke between people who are comfortable w each other. Sometimes it depends on the people in the situation, their relationship & personalities. But I defer to you & understand the offense as racist because of the mention of pubic hair. I remain 50/50 about whether it's offensive to reach out & touch someone's hair - it's incorrect in this day & age but doesn't offend me personally.
The way this woman just grabbed his hair basically comparing it to public hair. Am I the only one who thinks that's so bloody offensive and microaggressive?
Happened to me constantly growing up, and I'm not even an ethnic minority - I just have curly hair. It's a whole thing, especially among women. There was a thing of the girls in my year at school either viciously mocking boys who had curly/ginger/whatever hair, or fawning over and physically touching curly/long hair without asking first. I think the latter group meant it in a nice way but it's seriously weird, especially if you've been bullied, to have random strangers come up and touch your hair.
@@boiledelephant I had to tell my mum to not touch other people's hair. She doesn't do it in an offensive way but some people do not understand that it's just innapropriate
As much as a trainwreck this conversation was I do agree with Cameron's point about body hair and how you should base your decision of what you're gunna do with it on what you want, and not on people/changing societal trends. I just wished she framed it better and also not touched Richard's hair like that. All the extra attempt at humour took away from her point.
None of us know what happened backstage before the show started, maybe Cameron and Richard had some interaction that would have explained the happenings here more clearly. I mean, Richard seems far less-offended by Cameron touching his hair than the people in the comments are.
@@annethrax20 Speaking only for myself (as a man) I'm a fan of pubic hair on women. To me, there is something "off" about a woman looking like a girl who hasn't entered puberty yet. It's up to the woman, but given the choice, I say let that bush grow....to a certain extent. Picking pubes out of my teeth is a price I'm willing to pay.

Cameron is a total sweetheart. I used to work in the movie industry in LA many years ago. I was a set medic. My first time meeting Diaz was on Charlie's Angles. She was super nice, super funny, and very polite and respectful to ANYONE. Drew Barrymore was as well. Lucy Lu and Bill Murphy absolutely hated each other on the set. In fact, one time, they got into it so bad, the 1st AD cleared the set and had everyone leave the studio to the outside while Barrymore and another producer work mediate the situation. Honestly, like if I had 3c/4c texture hair and someone next to me is talking about pubes then proceeds to touch my head... better believe we’re fighting

@Tropic Lightning
Now there is a post you're never going to regret
Tropic Lightning, What? Why did you write that to Doran? I don’t think you understood what Doran referred to.
She honestly does make a good point about women making choices about their bodies because of societal beauty standards and pressure from men (not to mention that going completely bare is sometimes found sexy because it has pre-pubescent connotations). She definitely didn't articulate it well but that was kinda wack that everyone was acting like her viewpoint was completely unfounded when it was just trying to be feminist/body positive for young women.
LOL I love how subtly Richard made fun of Cameron
Get your damn hands off Richard's hair.....
@Les Starck I totally get where you’re coming from...The word EQUALITY means everyone and it’s unfair that there’s this double standard but come onnnn don’t go grouping every woman into one group...Most of us understand personal space

Known fact that lots of people don't like being touched without consent too. And that this is an appallingly common racist microaggression
graham will always be the best talk show host, this interview a prime example of how he dealt with it and kept it flowing
Man if this wasn't on Graham's show this would've been 500X cringier.
His ability to play along without patronizing, in spite of all the judgment he's probably holding back, is what makes him the best talk show host! Any other host would've succumb to the embarrassment and this whole segment would've just been one long awkward pause.
She's funny and makes valid points. What's your beef? That's she's the most out- spoken of the guests? If you had a different mix of guests she wouldn't have been the loudest. There are others who would have given her a run for her money & more laughs to boot .

It was completely out of order. Richard's reaction was too witty not to be funny but the fact that Cameron Diaz did that... y i k e s

I mean, Richard seems far less-offended by Cameron touching his hair than the people in the comments are.
yes I agree! it's important for people w/ vaginas to know that pubic hair DOES in fact protect the vulva from bacteria
@@annethrax20 Speaking only for myself (as a man) I'm a fan of pubic hair on women. To me, there is something "off" about a woman looking like a girl who hasn't entered puberty yet.
