- No voiceover on this one - I'm tired. I'll write some thoughts here though
This match wasn't run very well, honeslty. There were issues with stage design, range design, match timing and flow, and there were no consistent rules. Normally I am someone who really dislikes excessive dumb safety rules but in this case... well they could have used a few.
I forgot to pack a pistol mag carrier so I was loading handgun out of pockets.
I had a few stumbles throughout the match that were my own fault.
The barricade I was supporting off of in stage 5 was blown apart by my muzzle brake and sent wood shrapnel back into me - always wear your eye protection, kids!
My favorite stages were 3 and 6, anthough I really fumbled the pistol on 3.

89% at a match with 73 shooters ain't bad.
And you did that with 25 misses between stages 1 and 5????
What were the rules at this thing?
3:16 Every single match director in the country at least considered a Dicken stage this month.
Practiscore says I have 29 seconds of penalties for the match, and this match used scoring that was something like c zone +1, d+3, miss +5. I just put my penalties in seconds in the video. Stages 1, 5, and 6 had limited rounds, binary hit/miss paper, and/or limited time that added plenty of pens. For example, stage 1 pistol was limited rounds, mandatory reload, and a paper target with small scoring area. No one shot a clean match, I think I did ok all things considered.
And yes, this is the month of Dicken drills! As trendy as it is, I actually don't mind short stages that focus in on one skill. It's hot out, y'all
