The 1st gold found in colorado was in a stream in Arvada in the area of Sheridan and 58th.
Platte river was where all panned in the great depression.
Pan for diamonds as well.
If you look at usgs map of vents you will find us in that area.
(There have been 2 major diamond mines in Colorado).
By the by, pyrite has about a 15% gold content in some areas here.
Do not discount fools gold.
The real fun comes when you triangulate where the gold originated on a mountain.
Rock mining is much more profitable.
It's absolutely fun! Finding a few flakes out on the river 100time better than getting a picker in a paydirt bag!
Very cool nebie here so checking out vids
That bucket gets heavy quick too so you don't necessarily want to fill it up all the way before you sluice. Last time I went out I tore a muscle in my shoulder lol. We do have some beautiful quartz boulders everywhere up here in Alaska. The schist is so brittle up here the quartz ends up outlasting it in nature. You end up with quartz boulders scattered everywhere.
Alaska would be a fun time to do some panning and stuff. THanks for watching!
Thanks for another fun video. . Nice little bit of gold as well. You can make a couple of very easy to build pipe crushers for some of your smaller rocks that are 2" and under. 3" with larger pipe. You break the large rocks into smaller pieces in the larger pipes and then powder the smaller pieces in a 1 1/2" model. It only takes about 2 - 3 minutes to crush them to powder. Small enough to throw into the pack as well. Crush on the spot. I can give you specifics if you'd like.
Yeah I remember seeing something about those pipe crushers. Ill have to find a welder or fabricator to cobble something together for me. Thanks for watching and the suggestions!
it's amazing what you go through for a little bit of gold, but as you said it gets you away from the city (and all your viewers with you). It's so darn interesting I watch every bit of it. I never skip over anything. I can see why you have a bad back. Mine is from sitting and watching videos. Also I have been tied to a 9 - 5 + job. Keep them coming, I love your vids and live streams too.
Hey Shirl thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoy my videos! My bad back is actually from a few bad parachute landings in the Army. I landed so hard a few times I woke up not knowing what happened, except that my back hurt really..really bad. Never been the same since! Fun stuff! LOL
Thanks for the video KG, glad to see you getting out in nature.
Definitely a good time every time
Beautiful fall day to be out enjoying Colorado. Looks back breaking but I wouldnt mind trying it sometime. Probably as much value as I would find in clad while metal detecting in an afternoon. Thanks for sharing.
It definitely put me out for a few days, but man it's worth it getting out there for a day! Thanks for watching 5280!
Let's have a meet up of locals and run this spot hard . Who's down.
Harriaon Paige I've ran this area hard for six hours and left with about 10 cents worth of gold, not worth it
I think a few of us meeting up and seeing what we can find would be a great time. Its colder now but we're all big kids. I'm sure we'll survive. Anyone up for tomorrow or Wednesday? It's supposed to be pretty warm. I'm Chris by the way.
Well done. Not bad for 4 small buckets.
I like your quote from AskJeffWilliams: "Yeah, you're gonna get wet!"
Good stuff, brother.
Thanks for watching RWDirt, and yeah you're gonna get wet! LOL
The Google Earth VR is a really cool, dare I say pioneering addition to your videos. Since you prospect in or near a major metropolitan area in some fairly well known areas it isn't an issue showing your location, but most prospectors who hunt public lands are much more secretive about locations where they find success lest they arrive at their spot to find a host of people digging it up. Sharing is caring but when it comes to gold, sharing is daring.
I agree, but If I find a good spot...I'll go ahead and show the exact location anyway. I can only do this stuff once in a great while due to my back injuries...my doctor doesn't even want me bending down. But they can't stop me.
This is Great, I can't wait to get out to Colorado and do some Prospecting the Creeks, Streams and Rivers. I will wait for warmer weather though, like Summer next year. Love your Videos keep them coming.
Thanks Amy Hepker glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice pull for out there!
Question...
I’m running basically the same sluice and know the aggravation... How many classified buckets do you recommend to run, before you clean out?
I’m going to be trying out Ralston Creek soon, and have been out many many times, but I really don’t have a clue when it’s best, to clean out the box
Clean your sluice when the black sands and heavies build up too much. That's the best answer I can give
@@Klesh I appreciate that. That’s kind of what I thought, but just nervous about losing anything.
Thanks for answering.
Your videos have been very helpful.
I really need to get me a small clean up sluice, but since I’ve been drying my cons, it’s been much easier once I get the magnetite out.
Been prospecting in Colorado for 10 years. Been doing it with my brother. You sir are a wealth of knowledge. I would sure like to meet you or maybe even pan together. I watch all your videos and also watch Dan Hurd and flour gold wizards. I watch gold recovery videos daily.
Gold prospecting is always a fun hobby in my book
Agreed. We love just being on the river. And as a waterfowl hunter as well I enjoy being down with all the ducks😍😂
Wow! Thanks for the VR tour! Love your videos!
Glad you like the VR stuff, I do! Thanks for watching, more fun stuff to come very soon! atb -KG
Enjoyed this video. in the 70's I used to sluice and pan right near the middle of Denver. I would be the only one and people thought I was nuts. But I got gold and had a lot of fun. I was more near Lakeside Amusement park... that side of Denver. You need golashes or some sort of waders as the water is not the purest.
Yeah I have a pair of water boots I bought during my Scotland trip. I still wear my "river shoes" though Lol. Thanks for watching.
Awesome stuff man keep up the videos. I've been at that spot you sluiced at Broadway, it's a good spot found some chunky pieces. Also you can prospect at I-70 West and younfield. Look up the Arapahoe bar in Wheatridge,Co it's a public mining spot too.
Ive been there but can't dig very deep my back is screwed up. Didn't do so good at Arapaho bar
HI! Was good to meet you out there that day! Keep it up and have fun.
Hey Don, yea for sure! Thanks for checking out my RUclips stuff!
80! Jeez, we did not get nearly that warm down here in the Springs!
It was nice that day. It snowed the next day..
Much of the gold is ultra fines along the sides of clear creek. I seen small nuggets come from several feet down on old flood layers right where your panning!
I'd like to get down to bedrock. That would be great
I wish it was more but still a fun day even though you're back probably still hurts thanks man
Yep, it's all good. Back stil hurts and that was a week ago LOL
Thanks for sharing video, ideas and great info. Always look forward to what you find next prospecting, metal detecting and all adventures. Keep up the awesome videos.
I-70 West and Youngfield clear Creek. Off of Ward road
I've been there too, pretty decent, about the same as this spot in my experiences there. Thanks for watching!
Great video with some nice panning! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks DWING
I love rabbit! Especially on the barbecue slathered in butter not margarine!
Same here!
great video.enjoyed. nice to get out an catch a few rays.
Thanks, glad ya enjoyed this one chris.
Just started watching your videos maybe a week ago can't get enough you have got me excited to try my hand at gold prospecting I live in Virginia and have a few minds in the area I live in and have friends who know the owner and there are streams near bye as well what would you suggest for start out equipment any advice would be welcome thanks for the great vids
Check the description of any of my gold prospecting (in nature) videos, I make it a point to have links to everything you need to get started in those videos.
good work, nice spot also, thats a good gold day,now we get the bucket dredge in there whahaha !
That would be cool!
good video, I lived in Lakewood back I 93 and 94. I found some gold up on clear creek before you get to black hawk. that was before the price of gold went up. I plan on moving back in January. maybe we could team up,
Thanks for watching!
Nice job man and it is the best way.
The best way for sure
Super funny I was in that same hole digging today got a little miffed and dig a different spot and it was a lot better not so back breaking . I have a high banker set up to run as well run a ton per hour
Such a beautiful creek, wish we could put a sluice in our creeks, be a lot more fun, just saying, keep up the great videos……
Excellent video keep up the good work thank you
Thank you Robert Lucus!
I can see a trip to Clear Creek in town! that's really cool.
Thanks for watching!
I cant find the video it was on but is there a link for the classifier that was 1/8 inch mesh that fit totally in the bucket
Yeah that classifier is made by Arbor Fabricating. This video is from last year before they became a sponsor.
Everyone sais don't use neodymium magnet but, honestly, It's the only way to effectively remove the black sands because rare earth works on magnetite and hematite. You just save it all for later and move on with the process. I have seen small flakes of gold with magnetite attached up here in Alaska so you just gotta be careful.
Yea I save it all!
Another cool vid man! How much do those sluices cost?
Thanks - I think this one cost about $60-$80 over at Gold N Detectors
Nice , thanks for the video!!
Thanks for watching!
Remind me not to come over to your house for dinner! LOL Nice to see you are getting lots of use from your virtual dohinky! Always interesting and entertaining to watch, Klesh. See you on your streams!
Cookin with KleshGuitars...my new channel LOL
I know that spot good gold but very very fine stuff
Yeah it's a decent spot for recreational panning for sure
Is that the u pull and pay junkyard up there on the hill? Or am I thinking it's the wrong spot?
It might be, I'm not sure. But yeah i think it's a junkyard.
Quality time man quality :) Hey gold could be flat and not chunky, if it travels far in the creek. Cheers
True
Nice Haul! 😎. Looking forward to the crushed quartz video. And Yeah...you're gonna get wet 😂
LOL yeah you're gonna get wet!
Chris Smith
Hi Mate..
That’s great Gold spot..
Nice gold .
I will be uploading one myself on using a rota pan for Gold Panning..Today..!
It definitely makes
Gold panning easy when you can’t use a gold sluice..
Cheers Tony..👍🍺⛏🇦🇺
Very cool I'll have to check it out
KleshGuitars
Hope to hear from you soon.
Cheers TONY.👍🍺⛏🇦🇺
Do you know where to buy clamps like on the bottom of your sluice?
Nope
What’s the actual name of the place
What kind of bag are you using to hold your equipment? I am looking for something very similar. Thanks!
Got it in the service maybe 20 years ago. You might be able to find one on ebay or at a military surplus store -Thanks for watching! -KleshGuitars
KleshGuitars Appreciate it, thanks!
Sure man
I live off Broadway and 470. I can't find where this is. What's the cross streets?
It's on broadway by that steakhouse, forget the cross streets sorry. I think I show it on the map in this video though?
@@Klesh yeah I had to follow clear creek on the map till it meets Broadway. I couldn't picture where it crossed Broadway. Found it not long after this post. Thanks for getting back to me though. I really DIG you channel man. I know you're super busy and I appreciate you taking time to reply. Good looking out.
I never actually tried panning yet. Too many hobbies and work right now. Keep up the great content Klesh! Maybe I'll see you out there some day. 👊🏽
Hey buddy I'm from the same area roughly and wouldn't mind joining helping and learning from you one of these weekends. I also have land in deer Creek and curious if it's worth searching. Please get back to me soon!! Until then I hope the searches are fruitful
Hey Silver Superman I'd be happy to have you along for a day of digging in the river! I can even take a look at your land and give you my ideas on where to look for gold there.
Always great info😎👍
I’m jealous. I used to live in Silverthorne and never made it out prospecting. I was a ski bum. 😢😂
Thanks Preacher- 1776 for watching!
This spot is near the Denver school of jewelry arts
Good stuff always like your videos
Thanks chad
You need a trommel out there great work👍👍
That would be awesome
😂😂😆😆 Love the VRs dude😎
Thank you Cammo!
I did the same thing once and had a rock explode in my oven and cracked the glass so now I dry at about 200-250
😂
Cool stuff!
Thanks Tom
Areet man.U want to check the mudfossil channel out!he tells u exactly where to be looking for the shiny in great detail.
sounds good
Use your detector klesh you may not find nuggets but you may find quartz or a rock with gold in it. That others may have just passed up as a rock
Good idea with the right type of detector. There's so much trash out there that I'd spend all day in a 10'x10' square picking up signals of all types. Thanks for watching!
That sluce box is Def not 3 feet long is it? Looks only like it's maby 1 1/2 ft long. I think they lied to you lol. But I could be wrong. Awesome video tho my brother most love
Wish I could go gold mining but I'm paralyzed and don't have a wheelchair cause someone stole it so now tryna raise money for a new one and am now bed bound without one. But maby one day I could afford the hobby
Good stuff🤓
Thanks glad you like it
Nice Video. Inspiring
Thanks Eric appreciate it
Would be a fun Hobby, for sure. - 👍
It is fun, that's what it's all about my friend, thanks for watching!
Good job
Thanks Golden Gambit
I just started watching your content.
Thanks I appreciate it
No problem man. Hails from PA
Klesh can you show us how to read a river for paydirt
There's information in past videos on that, but I try to touch on that whenever I do a prospecting video with a map in the intro.
klesh i found tons of gold near where i live in reno nevada. I have 1/2 ton to process also iam building my own rock crusher, mill all for less than $100...PEACE!!
Very cool thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks Doug
what are the major crossroads Thanks
Broadway and ...i forget sorry!
around 64th it looks like
Hard work but looks like fun,
Definitely fun time out there on the river
went there once. it looked like the homeless had been living in the woods .
As I was told " don't quit your day job" lol
Definitely not LOL
Jeff will crush those he has machine call him....
Denver panning $2.89 in gold.
Medal detecting about the same
Yeah for sure. Never really thought about it that way, maybe I should do a 1 hour metal detecting vs 1 hour of gold panning. Then compare the incomes. Thanks for the idea (i'll give ya credit when I do the video!!)
All these dead animals in clear creek i found a rooster up a little from there near federal 🤔🤔🤔
SICK
Not bad but a better place is north of. 70 off of federal behind the old banana fleemarket grand parent's owners that area between Fed and Sheridan
Yeah that whole section of clear creek through Denver is pretty good for finding gold, thanks!
And yer ya guna get wet!cracks me up every time.Dan hurd covers rock crushing.he just got a crusher and he bn doing videos on it.
YA YOURE GONNA GET WET!
Hail 1349!
Yeah! I went to see Watain in Denver it was pretty great
Watain is my favorite band.
Sworn to the dark Album is my favorite
I am a solo Blackmetal artist I have 40 songs on my channel if you want to check out Underground Black Metal or one man Blackmetal.
My recent video is darkness and death Vocal cover
I will subscribe. They didn't play Sworn to the Dark by the way, unfortunately.
i love the videos man what would make your end process a lot easier is ether buy a miller table or make one. there is a guy on youtube that makes amazing miller tables with directions on how to make them named @utahavalanch
Thanks Nicholas Parnell for watching!
i learn a lot from your videos i think i have watched about 80% of them so far
Right on, glad you're enjoying them. I would already have built a miller table but I don't have the space for one, at least not yet. Thanks again for watching
It's not really about the money, I like panning for gold, detecting I've enough beer cans to build a car and a hand full of pennies
Exactly right buddy
Hey brother, just imagine yippy have done 20 buckets. You would've made 20 bucks plus. Hey you never know. I'm pretty jealous I'm in Brooklyn New York, not one gold spot at all. Gotta get outta this city life. Enjoy
yeah it's a great little spot that's not far from my place. I can go there and play in the river whenever I want.
Better than getting fat on the sofa! Cheers 🍻
Yes it is!
Hey klesh u gotta email address I got some questions for u
sjklesh@gmail.com Thanks for watching!
