They only become aggresive if you access their dams or if you generally attack them....

There is a way to farm beaver dams. I’ve been doing it for a while now.
You need an argy though.
Find a spot where beavers spawn. Build two 3x3 pens out of stone fence foundations and doorframes.
Surround it with spike walls.
Grab a beaver or two with the argy, drop them in one of the pens. Fly away and wait.
Eventually a dam will spawn in the pen. Move the beavers to the other pen, them loot the dam.
Rinse and repeat.

@@Smerrkz1 open your console by pressing tab button then paste this command : admincheat DestroyWildDinos. it will destroy all wild dinos and not the tamed ones. but beware, a lot of carnivores will spawn at first in every region. i did this to quickly find otter, beever and ovis. they generally get killed as soon as they spawn. all the best

You get so easily distracted by the cool dinosaurs, haha, I never get anything done when i'm building because I'm constantly staring at dinos! XD

I look towards every sound I hear while building, not letting that alpha raptor get me again. I got 6 traps ready for him, I've got some C4, some fences, and narcotic tripwires

This is the ABC'S of Ark Taming
When you let it wander it will cut down trees on their own so I’m level 40 and I get 400 wood basically every 3 hours
i got 2000 by just riding them and cutting only the trees in my base,it took me 2 hours,on mobile,literally
if you leave them in a good stop it will get 1000 in basically half an hour plus if the tree grows quickly you can put railings and make a wood making pen
also for fiber thatch and a little bit of wood with the Moschops, seriously underrated
I've always believed as well that when on the beaver, do not get off the saddle... Words to live by in life and Ark.

I named my first beaver, Castor Troy.
I one time tamed a 140 beaver on 3x taming only using Mejos and a ton and I mean a ton of Narco berries. It took a while but really had to babysit it. I can only imagine how much of a pain it would be on 1x taming. Other then that it wasn't so bad I captured it and took it to Herbivore Island with my Argy and knocked it out and had a Trike just gather the narcoberries and just kept its torpor going up rather than down. Probably won't ever do that again with anything less than veggies.
Although my absolute favorite thing to do with these guys or the Sandy Beavers is just to use an Ascendant Chainsaw and gather over 1k wood per tree and just inventory transfer it. This strategy to me is even more useful on Scorched Earth and immensely more useful on Aberration except there you would be throwing it on a Roll Rat
It took me like 30 narcotics and 100 narcobarries to tame a level 10 with mejobarries

I feel sooo bad after killing one when o couldn’t tame it especially after the squeeeeak it made
Edit: it turns out that the beaver was female and was the last one in the area and I had 20 15x soothing balm which makes me feel like even more of a piece of crap

I was dominating my buddy’s game for the first time and we never had seen these before. Though my buddy was dying a bunch and we were early in the game, I hadn’t died ONCE and felt kinda cocky.... Sooo, I saw some of these little friendly dudes and thought “Oh, free hide!,” one crossbow shot later, and I’m running for my life from 6 of these evil buggers all across valguero. They eventually ate my face

I’m a new ark player and I was asking to myself il the beaver useful in caves? I mean They are pretty strong, pretty small so they can fit around and you can craft new armor when your brakes. But when I look up creatures for caving, these guys are never broad up!
maybe because they are pretty slow compared to other cave dinos, and caves aren't that hard to do tho
Beavers can be mean mounts, in a good way, but it's hard to beat my favorite caving mount, the Baryonyx.

I also like that the smithy saddles to craft blueprints that not fit into a traditional smithy. Particularly if you are using organic Polymer
Beaver in Spanish is actually Castor, so Casteroides is not that bad

A lot of The big beaver dams on lost island don’t even have beavers that spawn near them so you can just take everything from it with no risk, I built my base near a few and it helped a lot when it came to building my base
I tried taming one before watching this. She was a beautiful light blue beaver and I was so excited but I knew nothing and didn’t have too many narcotics on me (I have taming on max). I used berries cause I don’t have vegetables yet. I ended up being attacked by her because I didn’t get back to her in time so I ended up killing her. Next time I will be more prepared!
Always make sure you have your strongest longneck before trying to tame a beaver. Words to live by.
What I found is that the Casto is beautiful as a swarm escort. If you like sending a dozen dimorphodons after your target, then you'll love these guys in water. They're quick and not too big like the dimorphs, but they're also tanky; they can take it and they can dish it out.
Plus, shouting "Eat hot beaver!" as you sic 'em on something is awesome.
Ride a basileosaur and have a dozen of these follow you, and you can sweep anything.
The dams I checked only had wood
that's because someone before you took the paste, pearls and mushrooms and were too lazy to drop the wood. Always drop the wood so that the dam respawns.
I just stole 400 cementing paste and took a beaver home to tame

If you cannot find beavers on the island:
Follow the river on in the middle of the map, took me a long time but I found 2 beaver dams after everyone on the server gave up

It's best to tame a low level. So you can just use a bola and some meat.
Ahhh I remember the absolute panic and mayhem the first time my buddy and I opened a beaver damn without knowing it aggros all the beavers. We got ripped a new one but the hilarity of getting mauled by a pack of angry beavers is unforgettable
I think when you enable wandering on beaver they will make a dam
So if I tame it and make it wander it will make a dam?
I like to think the beaver act as a smithy by using it's incisors as a hammer.
Omg thank you! I never noticed the saddle was a smithy... mind blown! I have done the following train, usually go out on a doedic and have the beaver follow it while the doedic is following my Argy back at base. then when I jump off the doedic I have to quickly jump on the beaver or they will both leave me high and dry. I figured if I have the doedic almost maxed out with weight it won’t take off so fast so it helps. But, dang I should pay closer attention to all the saddles now. I knew the Argy was a smithy and the Horse was a mortar and pestle, I wonder what else does special things.... hmmm

I cannot pick up Dino’s with my argy unless I have tamed them and I don’t know why. I’m playing on Xbox one PVE servers so any idea why it is not working? Thought maybe it was just one Dino not working but turns out it’s any Dino that the argy should be able to pick up. What am I doing wrong? For example, you picked up that wild beaver but that won’t work for me unless I have tamed it.
Some PVE servers dont allow picking up wild dinos because people would pick up aggressive dinos and drop them on peoples bases
This is why my attack is over 200
I have tamed beavers at level 22 using mejoberry but he is just lvl 5. But it consumed 109 narcoberry and 10 narcotics
It took me forever to realize you need to destroy the beaver dams in order for them to respond
Can we have an update on how to trap them to farm them because I’m having a tough time
I remember hitting these dudes cause I thought they were not that big as compared to the moschhop and Parasaur
had to lower the volume to like 5% to listen to you ....
i tamed a beaver with mejoberries and only used 100 narcoberries on 3x taming
do you have to feed beaver when you have them in pens?
if you put them in a wooded area, there will be bushes next to trees and they will accidentaly harvest them and eat them but still regularly check

i managed to tame one with mejo and runing like a bat out of hell grabing narco berries, rapidly crafting narcotics and just bearly keeping up with it. do no recomend
Can I use beavers for caves ? I just tamed a high level beaver and I dont know if I can use it for the lava cave. I dont want to complete the cave, I just want to take obsidian and crystal
When I go raiding beaver dams on foot, I always prepare a getaway Dino or structure but even then, I still bump into a beaver on land and bites my knees so I can’t get away.
Can tame beavers build a dam or only wild ones

carrots.96.7 effectiveness. +60 level took 45 mins-_-

Phoo have you used the Helper dino mod on steam it makes the parasaur collect stone, metal,wood from other dinos amongst some other really good changes to dinos. I only play singleplayer that mod is a game changer for me anyway
I do not like beavers at the moment. I found a lvl 116 while raiding a dam by the redwoods. it killed me so I went back to get my stuff and got killed by a purlovia, went back on my balcony, purlovia grabbed me again and baryonyx ate it. I built a 2x2 1wall high taming pen and dropped it in with my argy. tamed it successfully with berries, cryopoded it. then picked a fight with a lvl 68 skeletal Carno. retreated to heal, lost the Carno and a pegomastyx stole the cryopod, killed the pegs, then died 3 times trying to find the bag with the beaver cryo in it. eventually gave up. went back to my base and found the beaver cryo in my argys inventory

yes you can repair it you need the engrams for it then you can put your fur, ,chinten , flak etc and press e to repair

My first noobish beaver tame was a low level beaver and I did it with Mejos and Narcoberries, because I... was a noob 😅

When I was a nood when I tryed to nock out one on my lvl 40 raptor and four appeared out of no where and trapped my against an explorers note and I died tragically

If you kill the beavers at dam locations will they spawn back? Thinking i F'd up...
They will spawn back, but also know the fish share spawns with them, so clear out the entire area to get the beavers to eventually respawn.
