Interesting to see that Cutie actually is coming forward grabbing the nut from your hand now that you are in the open. Big difference from the window situation! You could see that this seems like a new thing, she hesitate for just a moment, and she didn't touch your fingers as she usually does. 🥰 Of course she will get used to this as well 🙂❤

I guess Cutie’s back to collecting almonds to make the marzipan for her Christmas cake 😄 I love the way she walks around on two feet when she’s on the AC so she can grab your hands while she takes her treats 🤗♥️🐿 Given how quickly Mighty learned to trust you, I’m surprised Minnie is still so skittish, but it looks like she might have a kink in her tail from some kind of injury, so maybe she’s just on high alert & being extra careful after a run in of some sort. Good to see she hasn’t forgotten where the best squirrel support human in town is though! Thank you for always looking after them all so well ❤
I don't know why a lot of people hate squirrels. I think they are so cute. I absolutely love their little cousins the chipmunks. They are so sweet & so intelligent. They are all very entertaining. I love them all. Thank you for sharing these little sweeties. They always make me smile!
Because a lot of people are nasty, mean frustrated creatures who like to make the world pay for own their misery .. Animals are easy targets for those monsters: that's what nobody likes to hear or admit!
I personally love this group of squirrels. They have quite distinctive personalities. Squirrels can chew on electrical wires and wires in cars. I had rodent damage a couple years ago when either a squirrel or mouse chewed through the wires connected to my steering wheel in my car so I couldn't steer my car They also chewed up sensors in my car. It was a couple thousands dollars to get it fixed. This might be a reason some people don't like squirrels as they can cause damage.
@@christinepierce874 They also do similar damage to houses. I had one (and then his mate also) take up residence under my house. I started vacuuming a LOT more, stomping around and playing the radio loudly to make it an unpleasant place for them. It took awhile, but they eventually went searching for a quieter neighborhood.😂
Sadly enough, squirrels are very endangered animals because of that hate. And there were a couple of cars in my neighborhood who had damage to their internal wiring from what u were talking about there--I nvr knew squirrels would do that, so that can get someone angry at them pretty quick. I have had experience with squirrels myself--and they are so underrated as far as bein friendly animals and the interactions and relationships they can have with humans if u take the time to get to know them. They are very loving, sociable animals. They just don't have alot of protection out in the world, and I see them as being very vulnerable to danger. Most of the time, it's ppl who don't understand animals, and don't understand the bond that can be formed with them, who are the most hateful of them. They are so miserable in their own lives that they see joy or happiness created by animal-human relationship, and they want to destroy it. That's the way I felt abt Peanut's story........Anyway, thank you to this lady here who takes such good care of her squirrels--just be careful and always keep your eyes open. Protect your squirrels. I absolutely love Cutie--shes my fav one, and a great name! And she knows her name too! Nothing like the little paws up in the air with the big white belly showing! They are praying for more peanuts!

People are responsible for any damage squirrels/animals do, since usually people destroy squirrels' habitat without providing them with food and other things to chew on. I don't think squirrels are as "destructive" as some people make them to be. I've been feeding them for more than 5 years and there are a lot of neighbors with a lot of cars around here, but no one ever complained about any damage. And if they do damage to some things, we should realize that cars, houses or money are NOT more important than precious squirrels. Anything that has life in them should be more important than lifeless things.

I had a squirrel that I used to feed but never let it take it out of my hand... He was Mr. Walnuts. He would take the nut and run away. Halfway through the yard he would stop and look back to see if I had more. If I did he would come back. If not he would take off. He was pretty smart...
I really like the way squirrels run, the elegant fluid shape their bodies and tails make. It's really cool. I also like the way Cutie turns away when she rejects something and the indignant faces she makes. Haha, like a little scorned duchess squirrel.

Perhaps she thinks they taste best ‘fresh’ & pre shelled ones go stale? 5 years ago I had a bunch of squirrel visitors who were all very picky eaters. Offer the wrong one the wrong nut & they’d act so offended. Most of them preferred Brazils & Walnuts, but there were separate tubs for “Picky’s Pecans” & “Huffy’s Hazelnuts”. My current lineup are all about their hazelnuts & chestnuts. Especially if they’re still in shells. They won’t even look at a pecan or a walnut anymore. I’ve never had a squirrel show any interest in almonds though. Cutie’s got very refined taste!

I recently found your channel & I've just watched your video titled squirrels are good for our mental health. My son passed away 2 years ago this month & this past summer 4 little fury cuties started coming to my garden & I've started feeding them..I sit in my garden for hours, watching them, I live in the UK so the days are getting cold, however I wrap up & just sit & watch..when Im having a not so good day, I can't help but smile when I'm watching the squirrels, so I totally agree they are good for our mental health..Also your channel is fabulous I'm learning so much ..thank you ❤

They are, but for storing they prefer almonds or nuts in shell.
