    In the bag. Z785 5-PW with modus 120 stiff. Long, workable, great looks, feel is amazing. Love them

      that would be exactly my choice. modus 120 stiff is a beast of a shaft

    I took the plunge and got these irons with Modus 105 shafts. and they are just awesome. Equivalent if not better than mizuno feel. And look awesome! No upcharge for shafts and grips. also, I received my custom order within one week. Best decision I've made in years and I've bought tons

      Scott Johnson exactly correct. I have the 785’s and the 1020 steel is absolutely spectacular, slightly softer than Mizuno’s 1025E imo

      Mike Cerniglia still feel this way? I’m looking into these. Did you combo them at all?

      Scott Johnson still feel this way? And did you combo with 585?

    • @raginasianinvasion
      @raginasianinvasion 6 лет назад +1

      David Bartsch 100%! Tried the 585’s in the longer irons and didn’t like the thicker sole too much so I stuck with the 785’s in my 5-6. David, yes, these are by far the purest irons I’ve ever owned. Just unbelievably good. I test irons religiously and these still come out on top. Funny I just tried the new Apex Pro 19’s earlier today and they didn’t even come close to my Srixon’s. The only other iron I thoroughly enjoy hitting are the P760’s, which I have a set on the way but my Srixons are here to stay, I plan on using the 760’s for those days where I need a change for a round or so but I will never get rid of my 785’s.

    I actually got fitted for these last week! Handicap is 0, I currently play blades and these added 10-15 yards per iron. 7 iron went from 155 to 170! Couldn’t believe how good they are and I loved my blades!

    I used to be someone who switched irons multiple times a year... Until I bought a combo set of the z765/z965 a year and a half ago. Haven't even had the urge to switch since. Srixon's irons look awesome and perform really well.

    One of the biggest selling points about these irons is the price. I’ve seen them retailing for £699 4-PW which nowadays for a forged iron set is almost unthinkable. I’m waiting for my order to arrive! Great review as always.

    After playing Hogan Apex Plus for years...I dont play that much any more so I needed forgiveness. Went the other direction for Mizuno MX1000 hot metals and have played them for years. Solid, forgiving clubs...but wanted a bit more "player" feel and looks. I was considering the JPX919 forged and stumbled across these...oooooooooo....lovely. Have a fitting set up at Club Champion for a head to head battle. Will report back....great reviews, Mark!

    I am using the 765. No need for upgrade.. But I have to ring in the bell for the 4-iron! Such a versatile club for me in fairway, rough and of the tee! Especially of the tee! Long carry when swinging ok and stops quick. And so easy to hit low when needed!

    I injured my knee (ACL surgery) a couple of months ago and have been looking at new irons to buy when I get back on the course early next year. I saw these in the pro shop the other day and thought they looked great 😍. When I get the all clear I’ll definitely test them out with a view to combo with the Z585 in the 4 & 5 iron.

    Played black z745's now for about 3 seasons, lovely clubs! Had a look at customizing these and was a bit disappointed that they don't seem to offer X-Stiff shafts anymore. Do love my Nippon 130X shafts in my current sticks!

    I game these and they are really great! Used to game the 765's for a while but they were a bit erratic on one or two shots struck a certain place on the face (flew like 10 meters further) for whatever reason and these don't seem to have these knuckle balls any more. Really awesome clubs. Forgiving and workable all in one...

I was just fitted for a combo set of PW-7 in Z785 and 6 & 5 in Z585 (switching from PING i200). Great feel and perfect launch for me. I cant wait to get them in so I can stair at them all winter! I have the Z765 and they are lovely. I think if you're going from a better player iron you might initially find these slightly chunky... But I adapted to that quite quickly.
    If you can't afford the Z785 I'd definitely recommend looking for a set of Z765 or even Z745's!!
    Also.... I think anyone could game these from tour to high handicappers! One of the best all round set of irons..... imo 😄

    Mark, thanks for doing the 'top line' comparison at the end. The only bit of the club you see just before you actually hit the ball being the top line - so something I always look for. If that is ugly - it ain't going in the bag. Thanks again.

    Just tested these today Mark.
    Tested against my old Taylormade R7's, Titleist AP3, and Ping i500. Had 5i 7i PW in all sets, hit probably 100 balls with stock straight shots, then prob another 100 doing the 9 shots (draw straight fade, low med high), and then some chipping with the PW's.
    Loved the srixon and titelist. Ping was nice but not as consistent for me, and not as workable.
    Next will be a fitting session to look at shaft length, weight, lie angle etc. as the demo sets were too short, and had different weight shafts in them.
    Cheers mate, keep up the good work 👍🏌️‍♂️

    I’ve played a set of 545s for 3 seasons now. I will mess around with a driver test or wedges from season-to-season, but I don’t dare touch my irons. Srixon is dangerously underrated, and stateside you can’t find them in any Big Box golf retailer. They always perform well agains the major manufacturers in various golf magazines’ club tests. I suggest to anyone who’d listen to give the srixon products a test.

    Srixon design nice gear, they hit my sweet spot here.
    Slightly higher lofts as per my current gamers which are old, ( 7 Iron-35 6 Iron-31 and 8-39 ).
    My 7 Iron carry is about 160-170, the adjustment in distances is hard with different clubs for me, can't rely on the club number.

    • @carlincledon4794
      @carlincledon4794 6 лет назад

      Couldn't agree more. I reckon that manufacturers should ditch the 3-PW on clubs and just stamp the lofts. I see people who got TM 790's and rave about how far they can hit their 7 iron, I'm thinking 'that's not a 7 iron, it's a 5 1/2 iron!

    • @majorsmythe1
      @majorsmythe1 5 лет назад

      Sadly- this is true. Long time Mizuno guy here, but the MP18 line and onward is using the new forging process and the irons are just not like the older Mizzys. Srixon being forged by Endo with using 1020 billet steel, makes the Srixons feel better. Hope Mizuno goes back to their older forging ways.

    They are in the bag for 2019. Z785 5-PW, Modus 120s. Beautiful iron and great feel. Modus 120 was best shaft for me. The irons are just a fraction thicker topline than my mp-32. And a fraction thicker sole. Not much in it.

    Thinking of purchasing a used set of these irons at PGA Tour Superstore. Hit them in the sim and they felt great compared to my Taylormade SpeedBlades. Always heard Srixon made great irons but was really impressed. These felt softer and flew further than my current set. Probably because of a stronger loft? Not sure if they match my specs however of 1/2" short and 2 degrees flat. How hard would it be to adjust these irons? Thanks for the review, Mark.

    There is a lot of very pretty player/GI irons: i500, MP18-MMC, JPX919, P760, P790, AP3. It cannot be bad when the Rogue (which is still a nice looking club) is one of least attractive of the main manufacturers. Cobra are the stand out which really need improve their looks (although the F8 hybrids and woods are very good looking).

      no comparison - Srixon 785 all the way, and twice on Sunday. mizuno f@#$k up the 919F this year, such a shame (they feel like crap compared to the Srixon, personally I think the 919HM feel way softer than the 919F) - if you are looking in this category of irons, I would compare the 785 to the MP18 line. MP18SC - 6-PW + 919 HM in the 4 ,5 (or the fli hi) - that's some goodness!

    Hey Mark. I'm going to buy some of these in the spring. Unfortunately there is no one who carries a fitting cart for Srixon in my area so I have a quick question. I'm a 6-8 handicap depending on how often Im playing. Decent ball striker. Just wondering if these irons get a little chunkier with more offset in the 4 and 5 iron or would you go to the bigger style 585 or whatever they are if I'm looking for a little bigger look with a little more offset. Thanks bruh !!

    Great review. I'm glad you've brought back the comparison to similar irons at the end as well.
    p.s. do these feel any better/different from the Z765 irons or are the changes only visual?

      Because people are drawn to the big name eg callaway titleist ping tm and thier marketing hype. I had ping s56 for years and finally made the change to these and absolutely love them.

    Mark, idk if you can drop some knowledge on the shafts theyre offering. If I recall, they are offering from what Ive read are a lot of of good quality shafts...and grips as well... Of course testing them & having a fitter goes a long way... but I think many consumers might just purchase based on numbers/feel without having product knowledge... Of course its our responsibility to research but your reviews are part of my research :)

    Lovely Juvley... hit like, watch vid, get good content as expected! First glance these look a little like my mp63s! And they have that "sound" - hope to hit some of these, but they are a little harder to find! Cheers Bruh!!

    Thanks for the great review Mark, and everyone else for their personal reviews. Can anyone tell me why its quite common to have 785's PW-7 but then 585's for long irons?
    I've had TM R7's for 10 years and they've gotten me from 32hc to 7, currently off 10. Getting a much needed upgrade, going from 90g shafts to prob 105-120g too. cheers

      A blended 785/585 set is common as this allows an individual to have the club designed for work-ability and control in short or scoring irons while having a more forgiving club in the long irons. Also, being forged clubs, the lofts can be manipulated in a fitting to achieve optimal yardage gapping between clubs throughout the set.
      The aesthetics of the clubs compliment each other as well.
