Thanks for the How to Video. Been meaning to do this for sometime now on my Pathy, Just over 200,000 KMs on all original plugs and coils. Noticed its starting to run rough and idle poorly when cold, so got to do sooner than later. Was hesitant but now feel better cause us regular guys need to stick together. Always great to save big bucks.......
Well i am glad that people are still viewing this and that i could help. I got rid of the truck after a dozen other issues and started costing more and more. I appreciate the great feedback guys....
This was very helpful . Thanks to you I got my mothers 2001 Path running well again today. Thank you sir .. The Mechanic was going to charge her like 600$ to do this .
Jeff Im going to give this a shot tomorrow. Thanks for posting it. You are the only one who has posted for a 2001 - 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. I have never worked on my Vehicles and just cant afford to take it in to a mechanic anymore. Wish me luck. I will post my progress. Oh and keep adding videos for the Pathfinder if you do any more work please. Thanks. Doug Porter
Nice of you to video your steps, a bit more detail on removal of # 2 & #4 would have been nice as such, it was more of a video of you showing your completed job rather than a step by step on the R&R of all coils. As for your rationale for not replacing the metal gasket ("car's got 250K miles, really?"), I'm stoked it sealed for you. The fact is, if a seal looks bad or is a critical (intake/fuel), replace it and don't risk a do-over, or worse. Do the job right. This video did provide a gd general idea of the job. Thanks.
Dude this is awesome....did you get the p1320 code from the check engine light, or were you just replacing these as maintence....im not trying to have a mechanic do this if its really that simple, but i have narrowed it down to being ignition coil, not sure which one so might as well do them all im guessing...
I was recently told that you can tell if the coil is bad by the way it smells. So if you think it may just be your plugs then you can go ahead and replace those and if the coil smells like burnt insulation then it needs replaced but if it doesn't then it doesn't need replaced. Before I knew that I replace them all and the plugs. Now it has been run very low on oil and think the plugs are all dirty. Originally it showed a misfire on number 6. I cleaned that one and now it shows random misfire. I'll replace the five. And smell the coils. Then on to the trailing arms.
Is this the same for a 2008 nissan pathfinder?? Please let me kno asap my girls pathfinder is running sluggish..they said it was ignition coil number 3 so your feedback will help thank you
i need to know what are the right tools that u used for this mechanical work !!!! i most change the ones on my truck too same nissan same 4 by 4 same pathfinder 2001
Hi Jeff, i have a query. My pathy has a starting problem. It gets 1 click to start in the morning but when i used it and turned off the engine for like 2 to 3 hours or so, it gets hard to start. It needs 2 to 3 trials to get it start. I noticed also that when i step on the accelerator it doesn't get that speed i had before...is it the Ignition Coil or Fuel filter or fuel pump? i've already changed the fuel filter below near the gas tank. please help me out what's the problem.
Is it similar this kind of change you did with the coils for a Pathfinder 2006? I need to change mine I think, since my gasoline dissapears way to fast. :( If you know any video which may cover my problem Ill thank you a lot for it! Good video!!
I was told that we need to replace a gasket while replacing the coils, not sure which gasket tho ! my mechanic was talking about plenum gasket or something like that. did you ever get to change that while replacing the spark plugs or coils ?! Great video BTW ... thumbs up !
Really dont know. If your saying when its hot it won't start it sounds like a starter is going bad . But if you're saying it is losing power than that could be something completely different. Power loss could be a million issues. Im sorrry but not enough info
I only had to remove the flexible air inlet hose between the throttle body and air box to access the driver side coils. Not sure why you removed the whole air box assembly, seems like unnecessary work. And you should've changed the spark plugs while you were there. Also, the right side is the passenger side, the left side is the driver side. You keep saying "left side" when you're actually refering to the passenger side and "right side" when referring to the driver side.

Great job sir
The driver side is a bear. I did this side first. Labeling the hoses or taking a picture with a cell phone before the you remove them is a must.
Is that a shirt from Barbados - Mount Gay Rum you are wearing?
used this video today. thanks😁
So, do I take them off from bck to front or does it really matters?
im jus a dude in a garage with some tools.
Haha jus pulled off a 1000 job good stuff
Lol
I am. Thanks
How do you remove the intake hose from the throttle body? Mine will spin freely but wont pop off

You said you got rid of your Pathfinder because of other issues what issues did the truck have? I have a pathfinder with engine problems
