Great video & advice, thanks. When I look to buy coil packs for my Pathfinder online, all 6 are the same whereas #1, as you point out, is different. Can I go ahead & use a #2-#6 style pack in #1?
Hi I was watching your video which was very informative, but I was also looking to see if I could see the egr valve. I didn't see it and I was wondering if you know where it is. I have a 2002 pathfinder so the engine layout is very similar as your 2001
Assuming you have the VQ35DE (variable valve) engine, you can’t find it because it isn’t there. That function is handled though the ECC and the variable valves. Is there a particular reason you were looking for the egr valve? Be aware that people will be willing to sell you an egr valve but they are for the older model 3.3L engines.
@@howtodoityourself6178 yes, I have a 3.5 engine. It's odd because diagrams show it being there but it's not as you said. I replaced all my plugs per your video and while I did, I looked all over for the egr because I failed NOx emissions at 1.7 gpm vs a limit of 1.5. Other emissions, hc and Co passed. I thought changing plugs could maybe help since they fire more readily and maybe won't produce as much heat in the engine which causes higher nox. Previously the engine ran a little lean like 8 or 9% before I changed the plugs but I haven't been able to see what fuel trim mixture is now just yet via a code reader. And that was why I had my question on the egr. Thoughts?
Hi David I replaced my spark plugs I did each one individually so I didn't get anything mixed up now the car will turn over but want crank I did notice oil on my no.1 spark plug
I appreciate the ol schools explanations, not making it sound more complicated than it is! 5 🌟
Thank you sir.
Will this video also apply for the 2003 Pathfinder with the 3.5 engine electronic throttle body ?
Yes
@@howtodoityourself6178 thank you.
Yes same engine: VQ35DE
Realy nice explained. thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

The best way to deal with a vehicle after 100,000 miles is put the GPS and type dealership, and go and trade it for a new one...
That requires money though.
