    Hi from what Ive learned anytime you spray flake your suppose to clear coat it 3 coats min...then sand it down flat and smooth then add your candy etc then clear coat it again.... just sharring what Ive learned...painting so many things can go wrong , thank you for sharring your experience

      Great tip! Sometimes the candy can pool around the metallic flake and cause dark halos if it is not going over a smooth base. You can run into the issue if you don't catch dust nibs or trash before you spray your candy too.

    Hey mate you should of put at least 3 coats of clear over your flake and let it sit for 3-5 days. Then da sand the clear with 600 then apply your candy. I have done a lot of flake over candy’s and always turn out smik. Still came out nice tho.

    Great job! Getting out of jambs are all part of the game and experience is the best teacher.. With your plastic, if you use an automotive masking plastic there is one side that is treated and must be placed treated side up or you will run into the issue of the overspray flaking off and getting into your wet paint. Keep at it, love the color! Feel free to reach out if you have any tech questions

    Check your plastic, most is one sided for paint, and it should say it on there, it'll say "paint this side" or "paintable". The other side is slick so it won't leave residue on the protected paint, so it won't hold the over spray, and will allow it to flake off. One other thing, if you do another flake job, spray your flake, then clear it. The flake stands up, and thats where you're getting the texture from. Spray three to four coats of clear, sand, then spray your candy. Its a pain, but it looks amazing.

    The texture comes from the primer after your primer block it 320 then 400

  • @user-zk7sg8sb1k
    @user-zk7sg8sb1k 2 месяца назад

    Heres some free advice.
    Use high build primer for leveling.
    Use a epoxy primmer sealer under paint coat
    Use a wet bed for your silver ground coat. Use a wet bed for your flake to sink into.
    Nib paint with a nibbing plastic razor blade.
    micro sand any chunks level.
    Rub it good and hard with a tack cloth. Apply 2 coats of clear coat.
    Let sit in darkness 2 days.
    cook it in full sun 2 days.
    put in cool place 2 days.
    Finish sand it for refinishing.
    Apply your candy as you would any base coat.
    Nib candy coat.
    Tackcloth it.
    Apply your finish clear the way you want it to look from first coat to last coat.
    Micro nib, micro buff nib downs.
    Polish paint.
    Do not cut clear coat.
    Do not use a buffer.
    If cutting and buffing is necessary.
    Just colorsand it and reclear it better.
    Use guide coat chalk

      I do like slow motion stuff but usually only save it for b roll and glamour shots. Mostly because the file sizes get pretty big and paint takes forever. And is pretty dirty for the expensive cameras too. I need to hire a camera guy with clean hands. Lol.

    Kandy is kinda like penny wise in a way. You cant let it intimidate you. Paint brand and type of reducer ( slow, medium,fast) are EVERYTHING . Some lower end paints tend to have poor coverage and won't lay smooth. Try kapci base you'll never look back.

  • @BiggMoInc73

  • @user-un5my5bw4j
    @user-un5my5bw4j Год назад

    This is just a thought for next time if you ever decide to do candy paint again just for you to try if you want as i think you will like the ease and long lasting result. I never mix my candy concentrate with top clear ever. I mix it with base clear binder. Reason being is candy concentrate mixed with top clear will not last long and will fade out since your top clear with uv properties will not be able to do what its supposed to do. Works better if the clear by its self is topped over all paint by itself. Another thing you can do with base clear binder is spray 3 coats over your when done then airbrush any graphics or any tape out strips with waterbourne paint so if you screw up you can wipe it with a damp cloth and start over. Those 3 extra coats of base clear binder lock in your midcoat and give you a safe surface to paint on. Then once graphics are done top clear everything

    I hope you're not offended for what I said just want to let you know straight out you have to be a perfectionist at every time you do any work on a car especially painting priming in the whole nine yards take the time to take some courses if this is what you like to do now the proper way of handling from beginning to win when I saw from you is being negative from the beginning to the end and oh well wish for the best that's not the attitude this is a work of art and you take it as a work of art not just something to do it's sad that your attitude about the whole thing is so negative oh well I don't know what else to say to you good luck

  • @jesusserna9995

    That's no reaction. Those bumps are the flakes. 004 . Made a rough texture. You should have shoot two coats of clear to bury the flake . Smoothin out the flake. You could sand the clear.. Before spaying the candy.. Then shoot candy. Then more clear
