"I did not expect this at all"...just like the Spanish inquisition. You know what else would be unexpected? Another comment suggesting you use my car as a demo to dip in whatever random and crazy color combinations you and the other viewers can come up with.
I kinda knew the glow pigment wasn't going to affect the colors, but was taken aback by just how much GLOW they still had considering how meh most glow pigment is. But in a sense a lot ofglow pigment is actually kind of "clear" when it dries unless it doesn't have other colors to contend with. The pigment isn't very visible to the human eye at that point. Kinda like how certain other white stuff can be actually clear. Like with acrylic paints, you can add a "medium" to them that thins them down without losing consistency as much as with water, so that they go on with more transparency so that if you're building up colors, the under layers still play a role. Also Elmer's school glue is very white until it dries. But seriously. I've never seen anything glow this intensely while being mixed with another color. That's impressive, and I want a car with this now.
A Lada Niva just to piss all the rich people with expensive cars off. Would work fine, just paint it and and annoy everyone with their Koenigseggs and Ford GTs and whatever other fancyass junk they got.
Yep, agreeing with Admiral Stoic Rum: If you want it and can afford it, paint your car how you like! Don't worry about what other people think about the quality of your car. You like the colors? Have fun!
I'd like to see how much the glow pigment influences the shade. Like a side by side with and without. I say this, because I think it'd be amazing to use a glow mix to make a design that is invisible during the day and visible at night. But to do that and have it be invisible, the shades would have to be nearly identical.
what you could try doing instead is this: sppray just the standard pearls base coat over everything. then mask off half of your design on the body with tape or vinyl or something, then spray the glow pigment mixed with an evaporative thinner to atomize it (just like DipYourCar did to paint pearls over musou black), and spray only the design area with the glow
its not as hard as you think. you can get colored pigments so it glows red or blue or green or purple. and many shades in between so you could match colors well enough youd never notice.
@@chehystpewpur4754 so for an example: you would blend ..say purple glow pigment as well as a more purple pant pigment and then the car would glow purple in the dark instead of green right?!?! 🤔Because I really like this idea!! I say the next project should be the Grand Opus; Matt Black Car, Dripped Can with different "drips" of Glow, Metallic Pearl, and Florescent paints. Maybe you can tie two paint cans for cool swirl pattern too.
I've done this with mica pigments and epoxy resin, you can add 2 to 1, glow powder 2, color 1, (even 3 to 1), and in resin the glow does not affect the color at all. Color shift included... I would like to try temp changing pigments, with color...I also would like to say, there's blue and purples glow pigments, they have worked the same. But I did like you, kept green base with the green glow, blue with blue, and purple with purple or pink. With no change in the color, including color shift pigments. But with really cool glows.

What would be really cool... if you paint the car normally and put the glow affect only on certain areas of the car. That surprised me too, I wasn't expecting the colours to be so normal and clear - nor was I expecting the glow to work, I wonder if doubling the amount of glow would make it last longer / glow brighter ? without changing the daytime colour too much. Great experiment

I'm just curious, you're the expert, but why do you start with a black base as opposed to a white base? Also, I love the dramatic music you play while mixing your paints lol🥰
I’m no expert either, but if it works the same as make up, the black base actually helps the pigment pop. Or tests different levels on your test pieces.
Watching the mixing is so satisfying.
Why does it feels like going back to pre-school/kindergarten mixing colors together. so nice :D
what brand of glow pigment were you using? the particle size had to be small for the sprayer? how different was the weight to volume ratio between the mica and the glow pigment?
this was an incredible experiment! thank you for sharing this!
Still catching up. Wow!! Did not expect to have such a great result with all the different colors.
First time seeing Tahitian Green. Beautiful color.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!
No one should be allowed to buy glow pigments without the colors as well! It’s too good!
Amazing end results... who would have predicted that. Have you ever tried EL (electro-luminescent) as a base coat with glow in dark and color shift on top. It could be done in key areas rather than entire car. Hard to get constant application over large areas.
I wanna do that on my jeep, that looks killer good!!!! I need to see that on a full car!!! Wow I’m blown away!!
Before watching the video yes it does, I make lots of pendants with these two types of materials.
One question how does it hold up to the automatic carwashes, or do you required hand wash is better? 🤔🤔 what type of soap should you use on this type of paint?
My faves at the start when he was mixing where the emerald green looking one and the colour shift 😍😍
But then seeing them dry i absolutely loves the gc47 and tahitian
I could see this on a type of bicycle called a Velomobile. A Velomobile is a recumbent trike in a Fiberglass or Carbon Fiber shell, you could even go with a higher glow-to-pearl ratio say a 60/40.
Stunning! 😱
But what would the same set of colours look like with a white base, and a grey base?
Could you perhaps do a video like that??
The purple\blue was my favorite
I almost expected them to crack an egg and add some flour it looked so delicious!
Ok. This came out as good as it could have. Beautiful! 5/5
