Will be picking up my Tank 300 Ultra Hybrid this Friday from the dealer and meanwhile sifting through RUclips for reviews and tests. I can trustfully say that your 4X4 review of the Tank was the most comprehensive. Good on'ya!
Thanks for that, happy to hear it helps. They are great cars and very impressive once one gets to experience it. Congrats on your order, that hybrid will be fantastic
As a young engineer, some 30 years ago, whenever I had a problem I couldn’t solve and called a senior one, they’d simply say RTFM! Never forgotten it and still apply it today. Regarding 4WDing, I grew up with zero tech aids and had the manually operated locks on each wheel. Getting to know any vehicle you own is key. Regarding motor journalists, they get very limited time in each vehicle and as a result need to make a more generalised summary and most that I’ve watched regarding this vehicle have been very positive. So on that front I’m not sure what you’re complaining about with all of this in mind. Hence the joy of having RUclips and being able to hear others thoughts and opinions. Like some journalists, you also forgot what mode you had it in in at least one section of post editing. One vehicle compared to several more that the journalists need to do. Apart from that, nice job.
Hi Marcus, thank you for the feedback. You are right, most of the reviews have been favorable, but there has been one by Cars.co.za that got it "stuck" and had to be recovered. Be that as it may, as a reviewer, people look to them to decide if they should buy a vehicle. If the reviewer doesn't use the right settings in a situation, it can make the vehicle look inferior and dissuade potential buyers. Some journalists actually say, they don't want a handover or read the manual as they want to see how easy the vehicle is to use. Silly in my view. To get the best out of anything, you need to rtfm IMHO 😅
From Aust. Totally agree, have had my Tank 300 for 12 months now. Fitted from new with Pirelli ATR Scorpion A/T Tyres. It isn't no sports car but she's a good thing. Totally reliable.
I totally agree with you 100%. I'm from SA, been living in NZ more than 20 years and own a Tank300 Ultra Hybrid. The only modification I have done is to fit Maxxis AT tyres. Same size just wider. Other than that stock standard and I've been out several times on trips with 4x4 clubs here and with some heavily modified trucks and my Tank goes anywhere the big boys go. Within reason since there's no lift kits or oversize tyres on the tank. In fact I've had so may people come up to me and say how impressed they are with the Tank after seeing it in action. Especially the fact that it is a hybrid also. The fact that you have over 600NM of torque at your disposal is a huge benefit also. Personally I don't fuss about too much with "mode settings" when offroad. I just flick it to 4L and engage the difflockers when needed and so far it's been amazing!
Thats awesome mate. I too have had many, many people come up to me while camping asking to take a look. Everyone is very impressed. I just fit 33 inch R/T tyres. Can't wait to hit the trail. What for more info on my build and offroad missions. Cbeers
well journalists are paid, sorry excuse for a car enthusiast anyway.. so best not to believe what they say. It's real, honest and knowledgeable content like this that's worth more than countless journalists reviews.
I agree😁 but yeah, it's so frustrating so thought I'd make a video about it. Hopefully, one of them come across this video and do better. Thanks for watching
Yes sir. The plan is to do upgrades and accessorize it and show how each performance upgrade enhances the vehicle. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Totally agree. Having watched every review while waiting for the Ultra spec to arrive in RSA, I was also left wondering if these "Car Experts" are really that stupid or maybe blurring the lines between journalist and influencer, having discovered that negative reviews get more views. Very happy Tank 300 Ultra owner (non hybrid).

I have a book of Murphy’s Laws. One of the “laws” says “when everything fails, read the manual”

A very fair comment
Totally agree my friend 💯
Thanks for watching. Appreciate the feedback 🙏
Thanks - look forward to more videos. Are you going to be going into mods to further improve an already awesome vehicle offroad performance?
