Well, there is a rule ("Palpably Unfair Act") that allows the refree to impose whatever penalty he feels is appropriate in extreme cases. I've never heard of it being used, but it does exist. I have a suspicion that it was going to happen had he continued his diatribe against the side judge...the other ref and his teammates dragged him away just in time. Honestly, though, it would've been the call of the side judge to give him the second unsportsmanlike depending on what Sherman said...all I can figure is that he somehow kept it professional and didn't dip into personal.
The chuck clark one reminds me of playing madden as a kid on rookie and you couldn’t get called for offsides so you could just take a defender and stand next to the QB before he hiked it lol
There should be some sort of disqualification for egregious facemasks. Disqualification for the remainder of the quarter plus the next full quarter would be about right. A "flagrant facemask" penalty, for where the victims head and neck were violently jerked and twisted in a way that could cause injury. Defining the standard for flagrant will take some work. Will need to be video-reviewable to determine if it meets standard for "flagrant", because it's too much to ask of human refs to make that judgment in real time.

Yeah?
More weirder is crazy
Here’s one I’ve never seen called: Assisting the runner.
That’s only called if say a lineman picked up the ball carrier off the ground and carried him forward. Nobody is stupid enough to try it.
11:46 that face mask wasn’t even the flag on the play it was on the defense basically costed the lions the game.
11:20 Seattle at the 2 yard line with the game on the line. Seems like I may have seen something similar before.
How's it with the game on the line? 2nd quarer 7min left
Chuck Clark really pulled the Madden griefer lamo 😂
That handful of hair was so crazy
Just weirder or more weird would make the title less weird 😂
I've got the volume all the way up can barely hear this video
If the "giving him the business" penalty isn't the number one most weird penalty, I have no faith in humanity. Better have the Lions getting flagged for having their home crowd too loud on her also
Or the call for "Roughing the face mask."
I had forgot how dirty Richard Sherman actually was. Jesus.
buddy forgot about when that 49ers punter got a penalty for "trying to draw a penalty"😂💀
10:22 If anyone wants to yell you the Lions are unfairly penalized, show them this.
Why show the penalty at 10:15? The penalty would have had no effect on the game as it was clearly over
They get more weirder until you get to the most weirdest.
3:47 This is why I think personal fouls (and only personal fouls) should be for however many yards the referee decides it's worth. 15 yards was not nearly enough. That should have been like a 40 yard penalty.
"Do what you gotta do"?? (said by announcer) Yeah, throw the guilty player out of the game! I mean, NOW!!
The Steelers pulled that "coach on the field" with the Bengals once too. Dirty.
2:30 should have been a Palpably Unfair Act and an automatic touchdown.
