@@jeanxza5395 an is invisibility frame where you can't get hurt. Switcing arts gives you a very small window of s. Kome was able to use that to his advantage to immediately kill Zackray. A very risky move that could've been accomplished with just holding shield and then grabbing. Maybe he just wanted to be flashy, or was baiting Zackray by holding the Manado wheel out, showing vulnerability.
Great set by Kome and Zachray, it had me on the edge of my seat but the commentators soured the experience a bit. Them counting Sora out so early on in the set to their speechless reactions at the end made it all worth it though
Yeah, the commentators were definitely a downer to the set. Talking down on a new character and making off-hand jokes that deterred from the match at hand.

He's in buster mode, so this makes sense. There's no DLC privilege going on here, take your conspiracy theories elsewhere.
@@bobthebuilder609 The fact that his Monado activation has I-frames AND can act as a combo breaker is pretty much like DLC privilege.
@@mathunit1 But making use of those mechanics is incredibly hard. That's why there aren't many Shulk players. Most of the DLC characters' wack shit is easy-ish to pull off

Sora is a good character
Oh yeah, now we're starting to see some of the really practical, disgusting stuff from Sora. Zackray's usage of up-air to consistently shieldpoke (that move does way too much shield damage lol) and KILL is filthy. Among other things.
everytime I see up-air kill i'm like "huh?" cause it rarely gets the kill screen lol

Zackray may be good, but there's no doubt Sora is top tier. I used him for the first time a couple weeks ago and almost beat everybody I played against. Once I switched characters, I didn't make it nearly as far
It’s possible the people you were playing against simply didn’t know how to play against Sora. MU inexperience is a real thing
I feel it's far to early to say Sora's tier placement especially a top tier, we gotta see how his meta develops. That being said, i do think he's a good character
Are these commentators high? lol they say "thats the first time hes used (x) in this set" like 3-4 times, ,and theyre literally wrong everytime lol. Like they arent even watching. Then they say Soras fair is down tilt? Like are you even watching the game man?
There are 4 types of commentators. The EEs: questionable game knowledge but loud, funny and high energy to generate hype. The m2ks: immaculate game knowledge, really goes into the specifics of what's happening and you learn a lot. The randos: generally talk about how the players "really know what they are doing" or "have great spacing" or "have strong fundamentals/reactions", basically things that are going to be true about any match in any fighting game and while they aren't wrong, they aren't saying anything worth saying. Then theres the 'mute button' commentators that get a lot wrong and/or have really low energy/annoying voices. These guys are halfway between 'randos' and 'mute button'. I know this is harsh, and they were probably exhausted (at least it sounded that way) but I've just kind of had it with being distracted from matches by bad commentary. Just let me enjoy the set :(. Props to that one guy though that noticed the amazing i frame usage by Kome.
Do yourself a favour and watch this with the sound muted.

I feel like if kome cleaned up his game play and not whiff his punishes, he'd easily be top 15, maybe even 10. His shulk in advantage just cheats.

@@Matthew.Morcos in the 2019 fall pgru he was 25th. But I feel the same. There are quite a few Japanese players rated above him that I feel like he can easily take.

Because it's not on Wifi.
Because Sora's counter cannot activate from behind and it cannot be b-reversed; meaning you cannot turn around with it immediately after initiating the move, making it much less flexible than other counters. whiffing a counter while your back is turned may just get you killed.

At 0:50 whenever Shulk changes Arts he gets a few frames of invincibility.

These commentators are absolute trash though. M2K and HBox should commentate every match with how hype they get.
Japan doesn't exactly have a huge pool of English speaking commentators. The use who they can get.
Also, these guys were on commentary for the entire time. They'd been going for about 6 hours at this point. Hard to be high energy after all of that.

To these commentators: please stop talking 20 minutes about your limited understanding of a matchup or how good you think a move or character is. No one cares enough about that for you to spend most of the time talking about it. At least TRY to mention their interactions or a bit of their habits, PLEASE.

Zackray is such an annoying word to pronounce. Doesn't even remotely flow. Not good if you want to be playing in English speaking areas.
