The pride of Tucson, Arizona! ¡Viva, Linda!
Tremendous voice.....one of the best for sure...
One of the best voices ever
Linda Ronstadt is such a lovely person, with a wonderful voice range. You should really watch documentaries about her. She has had the most festinating life. All the bands and music collaborations. Today she is retired, due to a medical condition that took her vocal ability away. But she is still the best in my book, such a gracious person.
Linda Ronstadt is my youth growing up with music. Love her.
Glad you're listening to Linda Ronstadt. I loved her albums. What an awesome voice! Check out more of her catalog, you won't be disappointed.
This Linda Ronstadt version [1977] of Roy Orbison's [1961] original recording got a reboot from Tony Scott's 2004 movie "Man on Fire' starring Denzel Washington. Hauntingly beautiful and lonely. Perfect for Denzel's character.
Lex had a great smile during the song. That's what music is all about.
She's so wonderful to listen to. Please review more of her songs.

You can react to Linda Rhonstadt sings the phone book and I'm in.
Remember the Jordan shrug? He hit six 3s in a row in finals because they said Drexler was the better shooter. Linda did that in Pirates of Penzance when she sang "Poor Wandering One." They said Linda is a pop singer and doesn't belong on Broadway with "real" singers... Good god, she showed out and shut them up forever! Check that one out. 👍
I went to the same High School in Tucson Arizona that Linda graduated from, albeit 20 years later. She was still all they talked about. I think you see why. She is as beautiful a person as she is a singer.
So many great songs to choose from. When Will I Be Loved. Poor Poor Pitiful Me. Your No Good is a classic.
Linda has one of the top voices ever! Everything she sings is beautiful! Try her duet with Paul Simon - Under African Skies!!
Fun fact, Glenn Frey and Don Henley who are two founding members of the Eagles were her backup band for a while. You can hear a lot of the similarities in the drums and guitar styles with her early music and the Eagles music.
thanks, kids! My favorite by Linda - she is so casual.... no straining or dramatics.. no costumes...
Here's an example of how powerful Linda Ronstadt's voice was. I went to see her in the mid-80's, after she had done "Pirates of Penzance" on Broadway. My friend and I were sitting in the last row outdoors at Poplar Creek (near Chicago). At the time, the pavilion sat around 7200 people, so we were fairly far back. Linda came on stage, started singing, and the mic wasn't on. But...you could still hear her loud and clear!
My heart soars when I hear her hit that note in Poor Wandering One.
Linda Ronstadt Is a Great Talent and Paved the way for a lot of other Female Artist! One of my Favorites by her is "You're No Good". I believe this was a cover of Roy Orbison?
This song was on her album Simple Dreams album released in 1977. This album had some of her most memorable songs, including It's So Easy, Tumbling Dice, Poor Poor Pitiful Me and Carmelita. Aside from her music, she was the dream of many young guys at the time here in Australia and many car cassette decks were blaring out this album.
This was 1977 (witten and first performed by the great Roy Orbison back in 1961). Linda Rondstat was georgeous with a gorgeous voice. We all fancied her back in the day.
Do you remember that poster of her? I can picture in my mind.
@@willasacco9898 Still have it.
@JujuBees very funny JuJuBees....we also enjoyed "JuJuBees" back in the day...it was a gelatin candy, similar to a "Gummy" of today...of course they were non toxic or hallucinogenic, unlike todays gummies...".back in the day," were better days...men were men........not sure I fancy your tone JuJu
**Including the Governor of California.
Fancied?
How about fantasized?
Linda has one of the greatest, smoothest voices ever!
I grew up in a place called Bayou Blue south of New Orleans. We always loved this song because it was so close to the way we live.
You have to watch Linda sing "Long time Gone" on Bobby Darin's old show. Pure beauty.
As a teenager in the 70s it was Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks that most guys had a crush on.
One of the top five female vocalist in the twentieth century! Just incredible!
My favorite thing about this song is that it led to the baseball term "Linda Ronstadt fastball"... named that because it "Blew by you"
She’s got a bunch of really good songs, a radio staple in the 70’s.
Her vocals are renown and powerful. Yes, it was the 70's on this live performance and she also sold-out stadiums. Definitely one of the best singers of all time
one of the great voices of that era ! she was german-mexican-american and does some awesome songs in spanish as well
Almost 14 million views for her greatest song, as a kid I left Farrah Fawcett for Linda when I heard this song..... "Long Long Time"
Her home town is Tucson Az. I actually went to the same high school (Catalina High) that she did before we moved. Not at the same time though.
🤘 Yeah Linda's vocals & passion could pull ya in! She was all over the 📺 back in the 70s.
Such a beautiful voice. Pure talent. Yes its from the 70s. When singers were really great.
This reminds me of my parents listening to it when I was a young kid. Rest In Peace mom and dad, miss you!
I wish Linda would live forever and SING forever
She had so many songs that will blow you away. It’s so sad that she no longer sings. 💙.
I love your reactions!
She's a true artist.. meaning she uses her voice to sing Big Band era songs, jazz folk, pop, rock and she's recorded two SPANISH albums.. part of her heritage... BTW, a couple of guys who were musicians in her band like the way they harmonized, asked to split from the band, and she wished them well.... They ended up forming the band called EAGLES, yes, THOSE Eagles.... Nice reaction, easy to just ride the 🎵🎶🎵🎶
PEACE
her Mexican roots add a special factor to her 70's americana... super talent
Early in her career she had back up musicians Don Henley and Glenn Frye who of course later went on to form the Eagles. Check out some of those older videos. You will be blown away. I saw her in 1976 on her You’re No Good tour.
She's from here in Tucson! The Ronstadt family has a huge imprint on the city history (commerce, health care, music, and other things). They've been here for about 140 years. Some of them still play music today. Very musical family. Linda is a legend, and known as the First Lady of Rock.
Best female vocalist for the past almost 6 decades. Every genre from opera to country and in Spanish as well. No real single slot so she covered songs better than the originals.
"Long Long Time","Tumbling Dice" and "When will l Be Loved" Classics and she was loved by all.
Try her duet with Aaron Neville of The Neville Brothers fame. It's called Don't Know Much and it's exquisite. I'm surprised you haven't reacted to her already. Try her Mariachi song La Charreada from one of her Canciones de mi Padre albums, basically Mexico folk songs. Also La Cigarra. They both show off her Incredibly strong voice. She's got so many great songsi The guys that formed the Eagles were her backup band once upon a time.
She is amazing and I am pretty sure it's the 70s she has several fantastic duets with Aaron Neville!!!
I remember being a kid and my mom listening to her, she has such a great voice.
The best voice I have ever heard, this was in 1977
That voice ❤️❤️❤️!!!
such a strong, powerful voice with great control and range. she was also known for doing some opera!. Arguably one of the best female voice of the the 20th century. Early career she was the lead singer for the group "Stone Ponies".
Such an amazing vocalist
I was a early teenager when I first heard and saw Linda Ronstead. I think she was my first seleverdy crush she is quite a beautiful lady and her voice as smooth as silk. I could fall in love with her voice without even looking at her. This song fits her like a glove. . Not only was she very talented but she was created for starting the great band the Eagles. Both Glen Fray and Don Henley were in her band when they told her they were thinking they wanted to start their on band. She told them she thought they would make a great band and even helped them find some of the other members of the band from people she knew. She is quite a lady to be respected. .
The fact that she could hold her on with legendary singers Emmylou Harris and Dolly Parton speaks loudly of her talent
Linda has a version of blue Bayou with all Spanish, or my favorite, a English version with an unexpected final verse in Spanish. Blue Bayou is ,"Lago Azul" in Spanish. Her dad wrote the Spanish translation
My first concert was Linda at Tanglewood 1974.
Such a beautiful voice.
She has many hits
Glenn Frey and Don Henley were both members of Linda's band, and formed the Eagles afterwards.
Linda Ronstadt has the top selling non-English language album in US music history.
Pipes of glory. Most sing what they think they can. Linda Ronstadt sang what she wanted. Always surrounded by devoted musicians. Deeply beloved in a dirty rotten business. Rocking or crooning the best Live vocals this side of the moon.
EXACTLY
I love this Country Blues song written by Roy Orbison.
"never even heard of Linda Ronstadt"...blows alot of us away I'm sure but I know u guys are young....So much great music by this woman, one of the GREATS!
Maria Muldaur "Midnight At The Oasis"...Nuff Said.
She could sing any genre and did many of them from country to opera and everything in between.
Copy and paste from website dedicated to her. “Linda Ronstadt was the first female star of popular music to achieve a long string of platinum albums. Although today such sales are commonplace, Linda was the first female performer to have 4 consecutive platinum albums. Ronstadt eventually had 8 consecutive platinum albums, 14 certified platinum in all.”
If you want a REALLY interesting version of her singing, look up "Poor Wandring One," which she did in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "Pirates of Penzance." Her range is absolutely incredible in that one!!
You could say she's kind of a big deal:
11 Grammy Awards
3 American Music Awards
2 Academy of Country Music awards
1 Emmy Award
1 ALMA Award
Many of her albums have been certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum in the United States and internationally.
Nominations for a Tony Award and a Golden Globe award.
1 Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award by the Latin Recording Academy 1 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
National Medal of Arts and Humanities
2019 Kennedy Center Honors for lifetime artistic achievements.
I loved the induction/concert of her at the Kennedy Center.
Even after all these years she gives me goosebumps. We all wanted to be like Linda as little girls. Incredible vocalist and performer.
When I was a kid in the 70’s I was so in love with her. 🤣
Yes I’m the 70’s she has a voice of Angels
I love Linda to such a beautiful beautiful person inside and out in The Voice I'm not sure if you guys heard her do her Spanish awesome!!
I particularly like the lyric vision: "Where those fishing boats, with their sails afloat, If I could only see that familiar sunrise, through sleepy eyes, how happy I'd be."
1977 tour - I saw her in Massachusetts - lucky me !
Linda Ronstadt was the dominant solo female artist of the 70s. She was mostly on the rock charts, but she could cross genres as easily as most people cross their living room. She later had a tremendous career singing traditional Spanish songs. She is a legend all over the world, and she's worthy of that adoration. And all of us guys were absolutely in love e with her in the 70s ❤
"I Can't Let Go" !
"Just One Look"!
You want to hear a gorgeous sultry performance, check out "Midnight At The Oasis" by Maria Muldaur from around this same time period.
I think you would enjoy reacting to Linda Ronstadt & Mariachi Vargas doing La Charreada.
incredible live performance!
No wonder the 70s was dubbed as the era of "golden hits." And it's genuinely reflected here by the phenomenal Linda.
she's played such a massive part behind the scenes in rock n roll... she's a beast! real talent.
Yea! Vocal athleticism, what a great way to describe her range!
Linda could belt with the best! I think we all love her! I know I do!
I don’t think that there were more than just a few, perhaps Barbara Streisand and Ann Wilson.
Very emotive singer. She is from Tucson Arizona. I had a major crush on her back in the day.
We all did.
Love all her songs!!
Willie Nelson described it this way: “There are two kinds of men in this world, those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt, and those who have never heard of her” 🤣🎶💕👍
Gotta love the fact that her band were the guys who became the Eagles a few years later as well. She is an amazing singer.
perfect voice
Please keep in mind that just because an artist sings a song it doesn't mean they wrote it. The song was written by Roy Orbison, not Linda Ronstadt.
Her duet with Aaron Neville "Don't Know Much" is awesome. There's a live version from an awards show that's deeply touching. And please check out Aaron Neville's "Tell It Like It Is" if you haven't already.
“When will I be loved” is another great one of hers-“You’re no good” is my favorite of hers.
I agree with you!
I'm gonna say it again
@@danzigmfers9488 baby you're no good
Her version of the Buddy Holly song -It Doesn't Matter Anymore - is superb
I absolutely LOVE Linda, more for her force of will in the music industry. She decided she wanted to release an album of classic standards, her label said it would kill her career, It went 5 x platinum world wide. Then she wanted to make a Mariachi album, her label said it would kill her career, It became the biggest selling non-english language album in American history. Then she joined Dolly Parton, and Emmylou Harris for the Trio...and 4 x Platinum. Legend.
Beautiful voice and beautiful lady, she was always on my play list
Her voice is particularly powerful on "Down so Low".
"That'll be the day" is a Favorite of mine, She won a Grammy for it!
I love how you're both swaying, this song makes me feel like that too. Its so smooth and beautiful.
The Queen of Rock from the 70's
Linda can sing anything from blues, rock, country, opera, and Hispanic. She is fabulous 🤩
Such a beautiful lady with an equally beautiful voice.
Probably already mentioned but I think her backup band had a few members who went off and formed their own band called the Eagles.
This song was also the nickname of Nolan Ryan's fastball.🤣🤣
Please check out her fabulous celebration of her Mexican heritage- the Mariachi style live show she toured -“
Songs of My Father”. You must watch her in costume with gorgeous dancers and musicians from Mexico. First song: La Choreado- it’ll blow your minds! She can sing any genre.
My favourite album of hers is "What's New"....jazz standards arranged by Nelson Riddle. Having said that there's SO much of her work to like, from the original Rock Diva to every genre pool she's dipped her toe into. The constant is the voice.
"When Will I Be Loved" will blow you away.
Faithless Love is my favorite Ronstad song. She is one of the all time best.
