I think the whole produced drama began with Boyd Coddington's show American Hot Rods, and every show since has followed the same formula , bigger better builds on a budget with even less time and less help. Probably what killed Boyd the stress and a younger second wife and having the first still as a business partner and not a silent one unfortunately.

this is like my dream truck. Growing up my grandfather had a 72 f-250 hi-boy that he and my uncle swapped a perkins diesel boat motor into. IIRC it had a manual trans, t-case, and an over under regular box so the thing had like umpteen gears. non turbo so it didn't go anywhere fast but man it was cool. I remember driving somewhere and smelling brakes only to realize the parking brake was still on. After my grandfather passed my dad sold the truck. I actually found it a few years later on craigslist but the seller stated "previous owner ruined it by putting a perkins in. we corrected that and it's got a 460 now. I wish i was old enough to drive before it got sold, maybe I could have gotten it.

Hey Tony I know that you're very knowledgeable when it comes to cars but in case you weren't aware when it comes to towing 60% of the weight should be at the front of the trailer to prevent trailer sway & that heavy Cummins was at the rear of the trailer.
Also that white Dodge Ram 2500 you purchased looks like it has a leveling kit in the front. I would remove that if I were you because the truck should have natural rake; 2 inches taller in the rear so when you tow close to max it's level. Otherwise you LIFT weight in the front & affect steering = bad time.

one fun thing to do with that p7100 is to get a brake bias adjuster for a race car and hook it up to the preboost screw so you can mess with at idle fuel while driving. I had mine mounted at the bottom of the dash above the trans tunnel. Becomes a "smoke knob" if you feel like screwing it that far... or have the need. Kinda nice to turn it down when you're not doing much, but bump it up when you're towing to get that off the line response. The AFR mods are super worth doing or redoing, they get done incorrectly a lot of the time.

Can it be saved? Yes! Can YOU save it... This remains to be seen. That's not a sketchy tow. That's something a half-ton could manage...

Every time I see a vehicle from that part of the country it makes me glad I don't live there. I love my rust free SW trucks. LOL. I really like the Cummins in the Old Ford.

This truck was SO clean when I got it, it’s actually a Canadian truck that spent its first 35 years on Vancouver Island, and as a 2wd I don’t think they ever drove it in the winter. 10 years of Northeast outdoor parking will do a number though, it breaks my heart a little when I see how rough it’s gotten.

I had a buddy with a c20 camper and he was talking about frame swapping it with a newer diesel truck he has. I’m gonna send this to him to get him motivated 💪

Check out the SUR&R brake line fitting kit. It’s at summit and probably other places for like $100 and has almost every brake line fitting you could need.

What a coincidence, I'm from southeast Alaska and I'm going to be shipping southwest desert cars back home. I want to get a 8 or 12v detroit diesel though, like a gmc9500 or an international so many old logging trucks up there to source from, everything gets rusted too hence my dealership. Then the truck will serve as independent contractor for my small community and I can help during major builds or disaster relief.
I'm learning lots from your channel man

Super cab camper special body. Awesome find. Very rare around my area. There is one that has the double sunroof that the dude won't come off of (been sitting for 20 years and has trees in it)
My concern is the not having pizza and having steak instead. Might be losing the shop after all 😅

I like how he reversed the truck as if it had a trailer attached, while backing it up to the trailer.

The old ford camper special is so sick. Tony needs to ditch that 04’ dodge and stick with that old fummings or just keep both. Keep up the good work guys.
