    I had my roommate build me a loom just like that one except i just use small slender nails instead of pegs ( i didn't think of pegs🙄) When you were going diagonal with the blue yarn, did you have yarn on both sides you were using ? Or were you just using 1 ball of blue yarn ? I got confused when you were just about done showing us how you did the blue diagonal... It looked like you were using blue yarn on the bottom of both sides...? Please correct me😉 Thank you dear❣️

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  4 года назад +1

      You need 5 rounds, Emma, unless you are making a thinner lighter blanket. For pom poms, 5 rounds are always best to give nice fluffy pom poms. Some people do 6 rounds for pom poms to give an even more compact look but 6 rounds must be tied as tight as you can get it.

    Hi Alison im trying to make the criss cross blanket but ive just started to do the shuttle thingy but the first 1 ive done just looking at the criss cross site doesnt look at puffed up and fluffy as yours? Does it just start to puff up once you cut it off the loom? Also do you shuttle the full loom then just cut the pom pom lines and leave all the rest? thanks tracy

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel

      I tie the pom pom side separatly. Then I tie the criss cross part and yes the loom keeps it tight it will slightly puff up when you take it off the loom. Well done and thank you for watching.

    If you have 1 400g ball how many time would you go round base x

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  6 лет назад

      I don't know but I will tell you how I deal with 400g balls and cones of yarn/wool. Standard size loom. Plan1. if it is a blanket all one colour just keep winding until all the wool is wound on.
      Plan2. (THIS IS WHAT i DO) Wind a ball off the 400g until you think you have half of it. Cut it, so you now have near enough 2 x 200g now do the same for both 200g you should end up with 4 100g balls ( or nearly that) I then wind the 4 balls iv made onto the loom. My daughter does my winding she will even wind those 4 balls into one. so they don't run all over the floor. I hope this helps. It may sound a lot of work but it is much easier than winding only one strand 80 odd times around the loom to get 10 full rounds of 4.
