Hello Alison I've been watching your amazing tutorials. You explain everything so well and your blankets are amazing. I'm in the middle of making a loopy blanket I'm about to start the tying off stage but I'm not sure how I get from the tied stage to the finished blanket . I've searched your tutorials but I can't find the one you said was in your older tutorials please help me from excited but confused happy subscriber thank you in advance Karen xx
Ms. Allison.... I"v watched two of your wonderful videos. I'm sooo tempted to try this on a full size Queen size blanket. You are a delight. Lots of good information and "how to". You make it look so easy.... and your accent is a delight as well. Best wishes..... Ax
It will make a big blanket but you will need a big big loom frame made. It will also take a lot of yarn, but you can make it lighter by doing fewer rounds or try a bed runner for the bottom of the bed.
Thank you. If you do this on a normal full round blanket the corner loops are much bigger than the rest of the blanket loops so I worked out this way keeps it symmetrical and lovely.
I know these videos are older but I was just wondering if you were able to do this technique but split it into two like one of your other videos. I want to make some placemats but do not want them to be full pom pom, just puffs like this video. Thanks!
Yes you can! just skip tying a line across or down the middle (tie it off in 2 separate half's leaving one line across untied) when you cut the untied line it will make the fringe for both sections if you know what I mean
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel thanks! I was able to do this with fringe on all four sides but is there any way to do it with loops on that connected side?
Hi I loved watching you do your loopy blanket but when you tied them what did you do with the ends of the wool and how many time do you tie please , because when doing a Pom Pom blanket it’s not a problem if you leave the wool to your ties a little because it can blend in with the Pom Pom but with this one I can’t see any little end from the tie , please can you help as I would really love to try one of these and you always explain so lovely
Hi Alison see your pom pom blankets the pom poms always look so tight and perfect, ive tried a couple now and i feel like you can see the gap at the top from the wool you use to tie the criss crosses, do you do something different to hide this gap? thanks for any extra help, tracy
I pop mine in the tumble dryer. I spray them lightly with warm water then pop them in the dryer on low for 10 min. This removes the fluff from the cutting and it puffs up the wool. If you still struggle a lot of people do an extra round on the pom poms to make them extra deep nd fluffy
9:01 you say you'll get this tied up. Except you never show how you tie up the blanket and i'm afraid i'm a bit too new to knitting so i honestly have no idea how you went from having pretty much all those criss cross patterns to having everything look all tied up and pom pom like :S Did you simply do regular knots to tie them up or maybe used a darning needle?
This is one of a whole list there are lots I have done on how to tie them. I use a shuttle to tie the cross sections if you watch some of my other pom pom blanket tutorials you will see how it is done.
Good afternoon, looking to purchase a loom grid but the link in your comment to the seller doesn’t appear to have any items for sale. Do you have any ideas where I can purchase one from as I would love to try and make a Pom pom blanket for my new grand daughter who is due to be born in March xxx
Hello alison ive watched your video on this loopy blanket over and over ur videos are great but on this one u show us how to turn it over and then tie it . But in your video when u have tied it all we dont see underneath u show us the top of the loopy blanket and then how to do the loops on the side bit . But we dont get to see the underneath. I have tied all mine and havent cut the ties as u dodnt say to and now i have them all hangin underneath but not aure wot to do now as u dont show the underneath anymore please help !!
underneath should look the same as the top. There shouldn't be any bits dangling under it. You tie it the way you tie all the other blankets like this. I used 1 long length to tie mine so I didn't have leftover tails. I hope that helps just make sure any tail ends are secure and trim them off.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel Hy again alsion im not following you im so sorry i have tied mine from the back way as u showed on the video and i have the bits thatni have tied that usually go underneath the poms poms so i do have them bits on show underneath i need to show u in a picture
@@valeriebond8660 I am also confused by this. I have tied with the shuttle but the video shows Allison turn the blanket over and it looks just as neat on both sides. Mine doesnt. I am not finished tying it but I am a bit disheartened.
hi there can you please tell me the name off the frame makers that blanket is amazing I'm no good at knitting or crocheting but I love this hope your well thank you Caroline
Go to any wood yard and make your own, I did. use a piece of wood the height you want the nails to be so that each nail is the same height. Good luck.ps mine cost less than £5
If you do this and cut the loops it becomes a fringe making this blanket the fastest to make. It is fluffy and looks amazing. You can do it all sorts of colour, mix the colour do it stripes diagonals all sorts.
Blanket meaning: A large piece of woolen or similar material used as a bed covering or other covering for warmth. This not a blanket, is a pretty mats!
Hi. Your video is amazing but I asking you something .how to make last flower note I can't understand .plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz explain in your video
Thank you so much for this video. I've subscribed! I'm not sure if anyone has already asked, but is it possible to use t shirt yarn for the pom pom blanket with the loom frame?
I tried as I make my own t-shirt yarn. It came out more like a rug also to buy t-shirt yarn is more expensive and you use a lot. Where yarn is much cheaper and softer to use.
hi Alison can u help me I'm left with threads between each loops I know u have to cut them but what if the are not long enough to stich back into could I tie them into knots instead s

Hello Alison I think your blankets are fantastic, could I ask is it complicated to add the crochet ribbon trim.
I am working on a video on adding a crochet trimm around the pom pom blankets. hopefully it will be finished soon.

Hi Alison, can you tell me what the frame measurements would be to make a double bed size pompom blanket please. ☺
How do you get the four pieces of yarn together to start? X
I love your tutorial. I would try making one for my grandmother. Do you use cotton yarn or acrylic? And would there be a difference in the outcome?
Acrylic, its cheaper and washes well.

How do you tie off when you have done this x
I show how to tie on most of the videos for these blankets you use a shuttle like a plastic spanner, its easier than tyoing with your hands.
Can you please tell me what is the distance between each peg?
one and a half inches between each peg.
Can you please tell me what that thing is called what you are using thank you
Hi Sandra, It is a pom pom blanket loom frame. The thing I use to tie the blankets with is called a fishing net repair shuttle.
Why the blanket on the loom looks different pattern than the final product?

the best thing is a large loom. They don't look so good sewn together

Amazon or eBay they go under the name of fishing net repair shuttles.

this is a small frame you can make them any size. These are for putting on the top cover of a bay pram to decorate it.
Hi. Your video is amazing but I asking you something .how to make last flower note I can't understand .plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz explain in your video

Do you have to cut the "big loops" ? if you are happy to leave them would it still be secure?
if you leave them you will have them on only 2 sides unless you do full rounds as on a normal blanket.
Esta Muy bonito, pero estaría mejor si estuviera en español, si no que caso tiene que suban videos así?
i dont know spanish
Disappointed it doesn’t show how to tie the x stitching (to hold Pom Pom shapes)
you can find it in her other tutorials.
It is on many of my older videos on blankets.

thanks
Deberían poner subtítulos en español, por favor.

How do you tie your loop blanket x
Hi Debbie, I tied it the same way as all the others I just didn't cut the loops. I pulled it off the frame carefully leaving the loops uncut.
