      Spray them with water and pop it into the dryer on warm for 10min. Did you do 5 rounds? A lot of people who sell theres do 6 rounds for the pom poms to make them more compact but have to tie it nice and tight.

    Hi Addison .Wanted 2 no if u can help me. This is my 1st time doing a Pom Pom blanket. I’m doing 1 row white Pom and 1 row pink Pom and I’m using a shuttle 2 tie off. I’ve tied along the 1st row, because I’m doing every other row 4 this blanket (which will b row 1,3,5,etc) now I’m at end of row have 2 skip next row. How do I go to row 3 from row 1 at the edge with the shuttle. Hope this is clear.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      tie your odd number lines 1st tie off with your shuttle, cut the wool then go back to so rows 2, 4, 6 etc. Its up to you you can even tie each line separately if you want, there are no hard and fast rules. I used to tie each line then secure it with a few knots. as my makeshift shuttle didn't hold a lot of wool. I used 2 strands together to tie for extra security.

    • @sharonmoultrie1219
      @sharonmoultrie1219 3 года назад

      Thx sooooo much Addison. I said if I didnt hear from u I would just tie end of row then go 2 row 3.

    Hi Alison, I have just finished my first pom-pom blanket and I’m quite happy with it , especially as it’s my first. The loom I bought has 2 inch spacing, Is this why you can see some of the white wool base between the pom-poms? I did 5 rounds and 5 rounds using 4 strands of DK. Love watching your videos.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel

      one and a half is the norm for this type because you dont use so much wool to keep the big gaps filled.

    Great video! it's really beautiful! but in this size, how would you use it? or is it for a baby? it's a genuine question because I really want to make it but in this size is too small

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад +1

      They are made to put on the top most cover of a pram/stroller. not over the baby but on top of the pram cover you get with your pram. Older children love them as cuddle blankets. but not for very small babies, they can't regulate their heat the way older toddlers can. they are used to decorate the pram itself. older adults love them as knee blankets and depending on the size of frame you have you can make them as big as you like. In other countries they make them as top covers for freezers and fridges and floor mats.

Even after doing this the Pom Poms r still coming apart when gently tugged is there anything I can do to fix this after it’s off the loom as I don’t want to have to put it in the bin it’s really big & took a lot of work?

      Did you use a shuttle or tie it by hand? I were woolen gloves with the very tip of the fingers cut off I use double yarn and yank once i get it through the loop as hard as I can. You can also twist the loop before you feed the shuttle through this will give a twisted tighter knot.

      If you do the pom pom lines going up and down the even nails you will always have it start on a pink row and end on a white row of pom poms. if you want it to start on a pink row of pom poms and end on a pink row you have to go up and down the ODD nails. Turn the frame so it is like a piece of A4 paper the shorter sides top and bottom.

      Hi, Joanna, I have never backed one of these types of pom pom blanket. I did make a pom pom rug by tying pom poms to the non-slip backing roll from B&M Bargains. They sell it at the rug dept. ruclips.net/video/1dpGFCWimoM/видео.html

    Hi, approximately how much wool do you use for the dolls pram blanket please?

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  4 года назад

      you use 4 strands at a time so 4 balls at 100g each should make 2 small doll pram size all the same colour.

    Hi Alison, how do I make bigger pom poms. I want to make them about 5inches xx

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      You cant really you would need to space the nails around 3 inches apart and use a HUGE amount of yarn. You can make the fluffy or fuller by doing 6 for the pom poms i seen lots of people who sell them doing 6 rounds for pom poms. Also if you make it damp once you make it then pop it in a dryer on warm (NOT HOT) for 10min this will really fluff it up.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  5 лет назад

      Weare woollen gloves with the fingertip cut off that's what I used to do or make yourself a shuttle from a small spanner it works just as good as the fishing net repair shuttles that everyone uses now.

      you should still be able to get around the loom with 4 balls of yarn (used at the same time) 4 on your 1st colour and 4 of the other (you can use 50g balls) 4 100g balls of each should give you 2 blankets

    Hey Allison, what awesome work. I love Pom poms. I’m following your tutorial for my 1st Pom Pom blanket. I am stumped a little. I’ve tied my 1st row, I’m at the end of 1st row using the shuttle. Now how do I get to row 3 with the shuttle. Because you are doing row 1,3,5 etc(every other row). The video doesn’t show how to get to row 3 from row 1. Hope I’ve explained it ok.

    • @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel
      @AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel  3 года назад

      tie it off cut your yarn and move to your next row if you want. there is no hard rules to tying all over at once you can do it in lines if that helps you.

      I cant make them anymore the tying hurts my arthritic hands too much do it like this, do 1 row grey for pom poms miss " NIAILS do 1 row grey you miss 2 nails in-between the 1st colour pom poms. on your 2nd colour do it on the 1st missed nail weave around the board missing the 1st colour you did and the 3rd empty nail. then do the 3rd colour on all the nails that are left. I am terrible at written explanations but if you do your 1st colour miss 2 nails

      This is just a small size, I don't have this now so I don't know the dimensions when its off the frame. I will give you a tip what I do to find a size of blanket. Google it and most of the time the person making it will state the size as they have to if the sell them. or if you have facebook join my craft group craftytwunts art and crafts my friends in there still make them they will know the size of all the diffrent ones.
