To give the drink a more purplish colour try adding a another "cube" of purple potato/yam...it gives a pretty colour without food colouring!

Just made this and it tastes so fresh and nutty and rooty! You really do need just a cube of the taro. The taro I found were very small and barely had any purple strains throughout. While they turned a little purple after cooking it didn't really color the drink. I might try 2 cubes next time and maybe just a little juice from some blueberries. But as is, the recipe is quite delicious. I LOVE a blended taro drink, so finding a method that's just as indulgent but much healthier and fresher tasting makes me so happy! Thank you!

I mixed this recipe with your milk tea recipe and it was perfect! Of course, I changed some of the ingredients but I still loved it. I did have to use about four cubes of taro. Hmmm... Also, I don't have a martini shaker so I just used the blender. It worked!

Purple taros are more often in Taiwan, actually I don't think I've ever seen white taros in Taiwan, purple taros are very concentrated in texture(even to the point I feel it's sticky), rich in flavor.

I had a boba drink in Las Vegas that was like a meal.. they used black sesame!
