Ive just added my first analogue bit of gear, a DBX 266xs connected to my UAD Apollo 8, I suspect that your channel is a gateway drug ! Im not even sure if it works lol but i'll be watching your channels for inspiration and guidance! Thanks David

Hey Dave ! So glad to see the SA-609 and I’m anxiously awaiting the review. Lots of cool gear on the way for reveal & review. My guess on the mystery gear is the RND Master Bus Transformer, although the plugin of that was just recently released.

I have that AudioScape bus compressor in my studio! Everything I've bought from AudioScape has been a blessing.
I've had a bunch of SSL bus clones and nun compare to that AudioScape Bus comp 🔥
I use it in every mix on the mix bus. I want to buy another one to add it to my Drum Buss for some good Parallel Compression with it.
I prefer diode bridge comps on the drum bus. Have you ever tried Heritage Audio's Successor? In the world of Neve clones it does a great job, and they compare to my vintage units.
I never tried the HA Sucessor but I hear it's pretty good and only takes 1U space in the rack

I have one of the Neve 551 EQs as well and I feel exactly the same way... I'm not in love with it, but I haven't given up on it yet. It actually sounds really good on electric guitar and vocals... don't really like it for anything else. I may sell it and get another pair of API 550s

I’m not sure what you’re planning on filling the empty 2U rack space you have, but a Manley Labs Stereo Variable Mu Limiter Compressor would look and sound pretty sweet in there!

@@MixingMusicAnalog it is on my list. I have researched the heck out of it but parting with 4k is hard. I would for sure have it. I want it mainly for the super silk section. It is very possible Rupert Neve comes out with a 500 series with super silk because many are asking Rupert Neve to make it. It is on the top of my list along with SSL Bus plus or Wes Audio bus comp SSL is on sale now and it is 2 rack spaces not 3. I am also on the list to buy Cranborne HE2 when it drops which I also researched. Many studios are using the 500 series versions as a secret weapon on the master bus. You just do not hear about it as much. I been asking around and that’s what I hear.

I'm interested in knowing more about that Galaxy unit you have. You obviously don't have an issue spending the money on the right gear if it does the job. But I see that you're staying away from the Apollo x16's. Any specific reason? Other than something cheaper in price, like the Quantums did the exact same thing...?
You must be new to this channel. I had 3 Apollo x16's back about 2 years ago and swapped them out for the Quantums. find those videos in the archive and you'll see and hear why I did that
