Thank you everyone for a wonderful year of this channel growing and getting to know you all more!!
Thank you for the great content (both!) It is my favorite channel!
Thank you sir for all the awesome content always looking forward to seeing what’s next.
Happy Thanksgiving
As always here for the quality entertainment with the added perk of some knowledge 8° ). Y'all are the right kind of doing alright n the privilege to watch brings a lot of enjoyment. I hope y'all know that your show is so much more than automotive/mechanically themed. Trying to do things the right way maybe it.
We love you, Mrs, Jr, and Max. Fantastic channel, our whole family watches.
There’s a good reason why folks send both of you stuff.. .. .. We all like what you do and who you are! Don’t be tempted to change your channel, it's perfectly balanced as is.. .. .. . and thanks for all the time you both put in to it.
I absolutely agree with you!!
abosolutley right. perfect as is- no fancy intro etc.
Well said !! great video's and genuine hard working people to present it, 👍👍
Here, here. Keep it real Wes. You and Diesel Creek are my favourite channels. Thank you (and Matt) for all of your hard work making all of the content 👍
I'm with the other guys: Don't change a thing. I love this channel just the way it is.
Plow season, bring on the crusty wires and fluid leaks!
And me laying on my back in a pool of 35F water...
@@WatchWesWork Don't forget about the permanent taste of road salt in your mouth.
@@WatchWesWork Try laying on your back on a wet road call and welding anything. I dreaded the rainy season with our winch trucks all having 3 mechanical winches and LLLOng operating rods. The manager always said, just patch it and we will fix it next week. I was almost glad when his brother drowned him in a dairy barn poo pit.
@@royfcjr That's a story.
@@WatchWesWork I used to hate MOT, testing farm vehicles caked in melting dripping rust caked snow. MOT ministry of transport annual tests for road vehicles in the UK. Shitty rusted brake lines, ohhh the memories.
I have worked on Western snowplows for over 10 years now it made this a very different experience watching this video when I actually knew about the item you were working on and had a good idea of where to start looking as soon as I heard you try and operate it. That pickup tube coming off like that is not an uncommon problem on the old plows like that when we get them in that are still like that even if they haven't blown the tube off we install an entirely new updated pickup tube kit that now includes a retaining bracket very similar to what you fabricated to prevent this exact thing from happening.
Maybe you could send Wes the part # for that updated pick up tube kit so he'll have it in case this thing comes back at some point in the future?
@@ralfie8801 I bet this self-made retaining bracket going to work as good as the fabricated one :)
Boltyk
It probably will, but one never knows. You also never know whether or not another one of those same plows will come in needing the same repair, it was stated that the reason for the plow company to upgrade the pick up tube was because this was a common problem, so it may not hurt to have the part number if for no other reason that maybe the tube somehow got broken and can't be reused.
@@ralfie8801 Yeah I have to admit for Wes not having ANY experience with that particular plow he nailed it pretty well and fast - I'd take my mechanical problem to him any day. 👍
@@gitatit4046
He has experience with hydraulics though, and that is mostly the same on everything, just made differently. Experience is how he found the problem so fast. I’m sure the sound of the pump changed when it was sucking air and gave him his first clue pretty fast. He did good with it, that’s for sure.
That laugh just before "there's your problem lady" makes me laugh out loud every time!
I love the 20 minute job turns out to be a 3 day ordeal sign!! Story of my life!!
Mrs Wes is such a great person! You sir have married up. You have a smart, funny, compassionate and assertive wife.
As someone who is blessed to have the same I'm sure you're fully aware how fortunate you are.
Don't worry, she reminds me all the time...
Sounds like my Wife
Don’t get too mistyeyed, mon freres, they each have a preferred divorce lawyer on speed dial…! 💸💸💸
She married him, not the other way around.
Maybe it is a lovestory like my coworkers wife tells...
"I drove allong this street and there he was. Looking like he was lost, unshaved and scruffy like hell.....and it was like i saw a stray dog. So i took him home, and gave him a coffee and after i gave him a little makeover i saw that he was a nice man. That is why I keept him....."
@@WatchWesWork Say the wrong thing i dare you
Every once in a while a Novice RUclipsr comes along. They are honest, genuine and raw. These are the 1 in a million You tubers that actually are worth watching. I.E. Vice Grip Garage, Cold War Motors, Millennial Farmer, Mortske Repair, Wonder Hussy, Project Farm, Qxir, AND SO MANY OTHERS. We viewers THANK YOU for doing ALL that you do to give us the Top Notch entertainment and education you do expecting nothing in return. The fact you are receiving Sooo many gifts of THANKS is NOT a surprise! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!! Thank you and PLEASE keep doing exactly what your are doing. We can not get enough. All praise and lavishment is TOTALLY deserved!
Love that "Hufflepuff Towing & Brake Bleeding" plaque!
That truck/plow combo is in its own category of clapped. Good on you for actually taking time to go through it
Wes, I firmly believe you can do almost anything... but not spilling hydraulic oil is an unrealistic goal. Don't set yourself up for failure like that. Great fix!!
Awesome gifts! Crazy plow. Lol
You should get one for the Ram. Never know when you might get a Florida blizzard!
@@WatchWesWork I considered one for Florida, call it a snow bird plow… very useful this time of year! Ha
After thinking awhile I’d bet a speed bump taken too fast or a dip in the road caused a major bounce of the plow. Tube on the downstroke said, “I’m out.”
The truck will surley be beaten up aswell..
Mrs Wes looked adorable & pretty while she was fast asleep 😘 And the stuff you got sent, as you said, amazing 🥳 And white knuckle towing, thats hilarious 😅
I love your channel Wes and the people watching your channel are amazing people I forget how nice people are these days!! I love being reminded of how loyal people can be.
Yes it's true! It's easy to become jaded, but there are so many great people out there.
I think it was genius the way you figured out a solution to the pick up tube to never fall out again!! Great work as usual!
We All Appreciate you Wes for Takeing The Time to Record and Show use your amazing talent Keep up the great Work 👍
This channel has been one of the brilliant discoveries of lockdown. Fantastic Wes!! Please keep it up and hope you both had a great holiday!
The funny thing is they have a revised pick up tube for that plow with exactly the same retaining clip that you fabbed up that’s awesome you literally made exactly what the new kit comes with
As they say, why buy the whole thing when you just need the retaining clip?
It is rewarding that people let you know that they appreciate your efforts and achievements. Keep up the good work!
24 whole hours? Well they say "set your goals high". Lol Thanks back to you for the awesome videos.
Having operated a plow I knew instantly what that sound meant. Glad you figured it out, I'm still rocking a 70's cable operated western and it works great still to this day!
Wes..the more you act like the average Joe, the more beloved you will become..being humble and thankful, with your wry sense of humor made me subscribe..peace and happiness...
Thank you for the thank you, nice catch on the plow. I always learn something every time I watch. 24 hours without hydraulic oil makes for dry content! 🙄😉😏😂
I love your vids, Wes. Your pragmatic approach is brilliant and unique.
Thank you kindly!
Plows and plow trucks spend their existence getting into hundreds of minor front end collisions. That is until you hit a sewer cap at 40 MPH, or the new guy try’s to do pushbacks in February and lifts the rear tires off the ground. Then it’s a major collision. So, it’s really amazing it took this long for the pickup to work itself out.
Cool Beans! Lets just state the obvious. The pick up tube was trying to runaway when he realized his plow was attached to a Dodge! 😆
Who could blame him?
Nice people finally get rewarded, fantastic achievement by all channel donators. 👏
Well done Team Wes, and Mrs Wes.
Stay safe all, and thanks for sharing.
I see a revision to the field service manual thanks to Wes.
Great idea
Wes: Don't forget to say thanks missus..
Thanks Missus!
Really enjoyed the plow pump repair and custom retainer. Makes a guy wonder how many of them pick up tubes fell off and the pumps ended up in the trash because people thought they were shot and not worth repairing.
So glad to see folks doing nice things for you - not enough of that going on in the world today! I love watching your channel. Your sense of humor leaves me in stitches every time - and I actually learn things from just watching how you diagnose issues. Keep them coming our way, Wes!!
The generosity of others always amazes me. There's still a lot of good in this world.
Wes your channel is important to us and very important helping it grow. It’s kind of like a family. I’ve been following you from almost day one and regularly make comments.
I see that Max finally “maxed” out. Go Max.
Awsome content, MC mechanic in Norway here and I love watching others work and go thru the same problems I do. Iv learned some new stuff too. Keep the content comming :)
Thanks for sharing guys, Happy Thanksgiving. I hope the channel gets massive, you guys deserve it. Love the video's Wes you've helped alot of people with your videos man, me included, great content and a very knowledgeable guy..🍻🥂👍
I kind of hope is stays about like it is. It's already kind of overwhelming.
At first I thought why tf is Wes working on that piece of junk, then I thought, just roll with it. From some distant remnants of my mind I remembered a similar situation with a yard scraper I fixed 40 years ago, I was saying out loud, check the uptake pipe. Nearly identical, but mine was a metal pipe and it and the retaining screw, were in the bottom of the tank. Made my day. Plus your wife makes a very nice model. Great video as always.
It's always a joy watching Wes',s deductive skills taking over as he figures out a problem and how he goes about repairing then along with how to modify the item causing the problem from repeating itself.
He's definitely a top notch mechanic.
He definitely deserves a profitable business.
Ooh, his honesty about cost to customers being kept in check as much as possible and how to save them money is a prime example of how all mechanics should be.
I just watched a half hour video on snowploughs - from the edge of the desert in western Queensland (OZ) where it hasn't snowed for at least the last 2 million years! Good stuff , keep 'em coming
Hey man, we send things because we love the content and good people.
Hope you keep making videos for many years to come.
I love that everyone is sending you guys stuff! You and the Mrs deserve every bit of it for the free wisdom and entertainment you put out there into the universe! Thanks for all you do!
Some days are easy. Other days are hard. Just the way it is. Nice fix; I bet there are a lot of "mechanics" who would have just re-inserted the pickup, and called it a day, fully expecting repeat "business"...
I do admire Wes's work ethic.
You know you are officially a you tube super star now! That is awesome that people appreciate what you do enough to help you out with what they can and the personalized gifts are just too cool! Baily is jealous of Max for not having his own monogramed blanket. lol
Don't worry, Max has couch envy!
@@WatchWesWork Sadly Old Baily can no longer get in the couch, it is ground level pet beds now. :-(
We’re thrilled when hard working folks are successful!
Great video Wes. We have one of those plows doing the same thing. Now I have an idea where to look.
Hey, Mrs Wes!
"Let Sleeping Mrs Wes Sleep" is a valuable and wise saying.
People are just showing their gratitude for the family oriented shows. For my wife and I we are sick of the negative force fed garbage that’s on tv. RUclips allows us to still pick what we want to watch. A huge thank you for allowing us to share with your family. I wonder how different people would be if prime time would return to the family stuff. Keep it coming and hi from Texas.
Its called community and caring Wes. People don't just watch videos to be entertained they get entwined with the life of the person they are watching. People want to be genuine and reach out and help. Also a lot of us have stuff sitting around we never use anymore and hey that Wes guy can use that send it to him. Hope ya had a great thanks giving God bless you and your family
I’d like to thankyou for starting the channel. It’s one of my favourites.
There's a update to those pumps that includes a bracket just like what you made. As soon as you started to run it I could hear she was running dry. Nice work on the diagnosis and fix!
This tells you that people love your work and work ethics ,and also love your family and dog.
Wes, your humility and humour are a winning combination and the wisdom imparted is inspirational. Mrs Wes, you’re just plain lovely and a perfect foil for the shenanigans; how you put up with being the fall guy so often, I don’t know 😆. The work you both put in off-camera is plain to see through the quality of your videos. We don’t have Thanksgiving here in the UK, but thanks to you both are long overdue 🙂 Thank you 🤟🏼
Happy Thanksgiving :)
Is there any other mechanic who actually makes his own parts to not just repair but improve faulty designs? You are the best. And being the best mechanic isn't even the best thing in you. You are a truely humble person, your sense of humor is wonderful and without ever having heard your wife teach I'm sure you are at least as good as a teacher as she is.
Supply problems are getting terrifying these days. I tried to order a custom made fish tank last week. Not a big one, no fancy shapes, no fancy optiwhite glass or something. Just a simple, rectangular, float glass tank with custom dimensions to use limited room efficiently. One shop told me he can not do it because he is unable to get glass. The other told me he is extremely short on glass and it takes at least 10 weeks until he can make the tank. If that supply crisis continues and more and more shops will be unable fulfill orders we will run into an unprecedented economic crash.
It's really wonderful the gifts you have received. You have invited your viewers into your business, your family and your life. Your viewers consider you a friend-- and with good reason.
You’re really fun to be around. Even when we aren’t doing anything at all just being around you makes me feel content.
Great content Mr & Mrs Wes! Wishing you guys the best!
it's because you are a friendly, personable guy that folks identify with. Plus you have a wonderful beautiful family that folks love too. You're a good man and a good dad.
pickup tube solution - genius
Dear Wes, I can thoroughly understand why people send you things. I've considered it myself. Of all the RUclips presenters I watch, you seem the most approachable and the person I would most like as a friend. Happy Thanksgiving - forgive us from this side of the Pond for not understanding what it might be! Might I suggest the theme for a new sticker - a picture of a hammer and the legend "Solihull Screwdriver". Solihull was where they made Land-Rovers.
Hey Wes, I've been watching your Chanel for a few years. What makes your content great for me is A: You're the smartest most in depth diagnostic mechanic I know on RUclips. Nuts and bolts are one thing but your trouble shooting and problem solving is inspiring. B: Your authentic without added drama, your videos are concise and educational. C: I feel heavy editing and camera shots don't make content better. C: I like to see your tools and equipment fixed and maintained. I've watched dozens of hydraulic repair videos from various channels but it's still satisfying seeing oil leaks fixed and things being maintained and restored. cheers. I appreciate the time and effort put into making yourube content
Congrats on all the neat stuff from your subscribers , on the blade all I can say is old and worn out …but still better than no blade …lol .
Your and Mrs. Wes are good people…
I enjoy watching your Channel….
Hi Wes you really make my day watching you fix things. You make me laugh too. Don’t stop being you! I guess when your popular you will get things sent that’s awesome! Anyway Happy Thanksgiving!! 😎
I'm still laughing at the White Knuckle Towing shirt. It plays out in my head and cackles of laughter burst out. Great job 👌!
It's actually a very common problem on the older V-plows from Western. They make a pickup tube replacement kit that has a steel bracket (similar to what you fabricobbled) that bolts to the housing and grips the tube to help hold it in place. Kind of resembles the safety clip on a Ford frame mounted fuel filter is how it attaches to the tube. I found that replacement kit after re-installing my pickup tube for the 37th time. lol
You’re really good at all the things you do. And even the things you think you don’t do so well, I like how you do it anyway, without caring what anyone thinks.
Ayy up Wes and Mrs Wes,you are worth all the gifts people send you, your vlogs are brilliant.my dad is 83 and he loves watching you and western Chaplin,he thinks you are a good teacher and western is a funny clown.your sarcasm is ace
Hey Wes there is still good people in this upside down world of today. Keep doing what you are doing!
I never had a doubting snow plow moment that Wes would solve the problem.
My favorite youtube channel by far. Followed by mustie1 and south main auto.
Please don't stop getting rusty plows. They're the best Content
Man, I really enjoy your content Wes. You're a great mechanic, teacher and photographer! Looking forward what comes next!
Happy Thanksgiving Wes!! Thank you for all your work and videos!
Man i really appreciate the fact you leave the mistakes and the figuring it out portion in your videos, thanks for all the excellent content. Unreal.
HAPPY THAKSGIVING WES AND FAMILY
Not a surprise you get things, you are special to all of us.
I’ve seen you not be an expert on a lot of things but still fix them perfectly. I’d trust you more than the “self proclaimed “ experts.
Awesome Wes. Always amazed at your ability to "think through the problem(s)" No instruction manuals needed in your shop. Happy thanksgiving to you, your wife and family. Best wishes from Scotland. Stay safe and well.
Thanks wifey!
You two, both of you, really are an adorable couple!
If I had invented that bracket fix using one of the existing bolts, I would be breaking my arm patting myself on the back. Well done!
Nice to see Mrs Wes has been over enjoying her self 😁
Love the design of the pickup tube lock! Some of those items folks sent you were very cool.
This is the exact reason that ended my run with Western plows and went to Boss. I installed the updated pick ups and year later I was back in the same boat. I ended up tapping the holes out and put pipe in them and sold the plow.
Squatch 253 would be so proud of your fold over lock. That guy LOVES fold over locks.
You take care of us viewers with your knowledge and us viewers will take care of you back.
Well done, Wes.
Now if you manufacture a drain pan that just fits inside the tires, and is the length of the vehicle, no more spots on the floor.
An overhead crane to lift it when full and you're all set. lol
You truly keep it real and we, your viewers, appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing.
Just the greatest 😊❤️
The things people send you Guys are Awesome. Theres still good people in this World. Great Video.
Always great videos Wes. It is people like you that create service bulletins for known issues, that really fix the issue at hand. Thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving you crazy kids! Thanks for all your hard work!
that thing is brutal. a new phrase springs to mind - 'subtle as a snowplow'
In your Eric O. voice, "there's your problem lady!" 😂
Good job Wes and enjoy your holidays my northern neighbor!
Come on, admit it, you’re secretly really in to hydraulics aren’t you Wes? Another good video. Thanks for posting. 🇬🇧
You guys rock!! Enjoy every video you have made!!
Really enjoyed that thanks great entertainment.
Thank You Wes. Happy Thanksgiving
Another Great Fix by Wes ! I enjoyed watching you figure out the problem again ! Thanks Wes !
I really like watching that plow get put through its paces. Wes loves it when a plan comes together.
Great Fix!! Keep them coming.
What a wonderful gadget! Another interesting and entertaining video. Thanks Wes!
Great job Wes Thanks for sharing 👍 👏
