I have a thought that might not mean that much to you audio guys. I think this is simply the best LOOKING mic I've seen in a long time. What a kickass, fun, vintage design. The 017 looks garish and "nouveau riche" with that gold/ivory combo, but this one ... totally cool.
Just bought one, I'm planning on doing VO with it but I don't see anyone making videos for VO on these. Everyone is going with the 017 FET. Would be really awesome if you did a comparison between the 017 and the 023 for VO. Don't understand why no one on YT is comparing them.
I really liked it on the overheads, the cymbals sounded really nice, bright, balanced, and not harsh!! Almost reminded me of an AKG c414 with a more pleasing top end! Acoustic guitars stood out to me as sounding really nice as well!
To me it sounds like a condenser trying to be a ribbon mic. It sounds good, looks stunning but... I think I would choose a ribbon or a TLM 103. great review.
Cool thanks for your input. I find them easy to use personally. “Vanilla” is fair, as any mic that can do lots of stuff has to not be too flavored. But that’s certainly not what I feel when I put the mics up.
Yeah but I mean Neumanns are super versatile, even ubiquitous, and don’t sound vanilla. Perhaps being a little fairer, EV mics-also versatile but characterful. A clean mic is fine-there are lots of those-but then why soo much fervor over Soyuz
I can only speak for my own enthusiasm but for me they’ve been great. There’s something cool when you know a mic is actually made by the company’s badge on the front. Capsule, transformer and all. For me, it’s a company still in it’s Golden Age.

This mic sounds great in a lot of arenas. I’d love to get my hands on one and test it out and put it through its paces.

I bought it, thanks for the demo. My first Russian mic
Man that sounds great. Just picked up the 017tube but I think I gotta add that 023
Nice review on this mic sound great on overhead
Mic sounded tasty on guitar
Thanks guys!
That guitar tone was 🤯🤯. Do you remember what guitar you used?
Sneaky i saw that strategic Signal Art Electronic reamp guitar box. Nice
How does it compare to Neumann u47 Fet?
killer, have you tried the chandler :)
did you just mic that guitarist Glyn Johns style? whoa
Sure did
yooo around 2:00 when you hit the floor tom quickly two times, it sounds just like opening up netflix
Юзаю Малфу, шикарный мик как по звуку так и по сборке.
Very nice video!!
How does it compare to the 017fet ?
Can't tell if it sounds amazing, or if your video production level just improved that much? Nice format for the video, mic has me seriously intrigued.
Man the toms...!! Excelente.
What are the overheads on drums, at 2:30?
1:49 really nice reggaeton
was the name of the song at 5:24????
I mean 5:00
at 4:40 are you recording vocals in stereo or two different mics for more frequency pickup?
Compare two different Soyuz mics
@@Shefmaker good point, a comparison, would love some soyuz mics for sure
Sad they don't offer it in black.
I like the silver

I really don’t get the soyuz hype. They all sound..fine. Pretty vanilla
