Want an update on these fantastic critters and the dozens of other animals living in my house? Check out my biggest reptile room tour to date! ruclips.net/video/htA7i4UTnYA/видео.html
Shoutout to Norman the Western banded gecko in the background for stealing the show! Yes, a new reptile room tour is IN THE WORKS! You can expect it soon - I know that's what you're so patiently waiting for. Enjoy these awesome bugs for now.
Noob life, they sure don’t. They can be somewhat difficult to maintain in a cage if you’re inexperienced with small geckos, but research is always your best friend. I would recommend keeping them in a naturalistic setup - everything can be collected from a pesticide-free wilderness area near you. Native soil with leaf litter on top can make up the substrate, and you should provide as much clutter (live or fake plants, cork bark tubes, branches, etc) as you can. Mist him once or twice a day and water the whole setup weekly if you have dry substrate or live plants, and offer small crickets, mealworms, or dubia roaches as prey. When kept properly they’re good hunters and can do well in captivity, but if he starts losing weight I’d re-release him.
Dude you have inspired me to become a reptile keeper! I really enjoy your videos and you are a sensation. Keep it up. Because of you, I have a small reptile collection of my own and your videos inspire me more and more! Keep it up man
I will be looking to start an isopod colony soon - thanks for sharing! Look forward to care, set up and breeding. Roaches are cool too, I breed Dubia, superworms, mealworms, fruit flies and springtails.
Nice unboxing! Good to see a fellow member of the U.S invertebrate auction group! Been subscribed to your channel and I've actually seen your profile on the auction page!
I've been looking for invert breeders for forever thanks to you and Shawn for the recommended group I will most defianatly be purchasing from there VERY soon :) can never have enough millipedes or tarantulas
Shawn is a cool guy. we belong to some of the same isopod groups and he is always quick to help a newbie, like myself! I belong to the US invertebrate Auction Group and have gotten some great isopods and roaches from people in the group!
I remember playing with pill bugs a lot as a kid, we called them 'slaters' (not sure why maybe it's just what Australians call them). The variety we saw was black/dark grey and when you picked them up they'd roll up into a ball. We'd just pick them up and let them crawl on our hands, my school was literally infested with them outside. Cool little critters. I wouldn't mind keeping a few as pets.
Idk why, But that "Nice Jump Buddy" just earned my subscribe. I think this channel will be of great education and entertainment, and this is the first video I've seen from this channel.
Shawn and the US Invertebrate Auction group are awesome! Such a good group to get isopods, mantids, tarantulas, roaches, millipedes, centipedes, leaf litter, rotting wood, carnivorous plants, and anything else you can imagine. So envious about your Armadillidium sp. Montenegro! They’re high on my want list. Also: you mentioned eggs coming with some of the isopods. They could come with the roaches for sure, but isopods actually carry their young (mancae) in a marsupial pouch!
I love bugs/insects/invertebrates (etc) but I have never, NEVER, found a channel that shares the the same love that I do! I absolutely adore cockroaches, so much so when I was younger I kissed one (which I believe was an Australian burrowing cockroaches)! Also love your hair 😂
Binge watching these until my millipede arrives. They were delayed due to cold weather, but I’m glad my seller cares about their welfare so am happy to wait.
I just stumbled upon your channel and I can say I already love it!❤️ I envy your love and knowledge of animal life. I hope your channel continues to grow so you can share your wonderful knowledge.
Love the vid! I’ve recently become obsessed with roaches. I don’t have any creepy crawly beauties at all as of yet; waiting on a move; but have been researching/planning/dreaming of my future collection.
I've just started to breed roaches I just had my first lot of babies I can't believe how small they come out to the size they grow. I've learnt so much about roaches from you I was surprised to find out how old they get. I never thought I would like them so much always excited to see how much the very grown etc your my first go to place when I get stuck or need to know anything love what you do love the channel thanx heeps for sharing the knowledge you have saves me alot of time and effort researching. Always excited to see the next video. Paula England
Your channel has inspired me to sort of follow in your footsteps of public education, conservation and animal care :) I also am working on an animal collection.
such a pleasure to find your channel. I can see you with your own tv show, it is time for the next generations of Jeff Corwin and others such as him to step forward and be showcased.
One hell of a commitment to identify your business after a hair style! Reminds me of "Fro Knows Photo" who's been rockin' his 'fro since the jump of his RUclips career. Albeit he made his decision not to cut his hair to help him keep positive and move forward during a very, very difficult time in his life... Which is why I never even thought to consider what he would do in regard to the name of his extremely successful business being completely dependant on his hairstyle. It would certainly be weird if his business were named that without the proper 'do. That being said, the main point of this comment was to ask a few questions. Is there a reason you grew your fro? When did you start growinh it/how long did it take? And finally, have you ever considered doing anything different with your hair and if so what would you do with it? If you were to cut it, what would you do about the name of your channel/business? I honestly think you would look much older with a short style. When your hair is up, like in this video, you can see there's actually a super good lookin' dude underneath that mop... lol! But seriously though! I honestly thought you were like 12 years old until i saw you driving in your video.. So how old are you if you don't mind me asking? You should do a Q&A video answering some of these questions as im certain others are curious too! Had one more thing to say/ask that was one of the main things, DANGIT! Lol ill revisit if i remember. Be well, bro!
We had a common roach in our house that lived inbetween our toilet and bathroom. I ended up calling him Jeffrey and told everyone in my family to leave him be, cos he was chill😂 Also I used to love moving my mum's pot plants (when I was like 10) to find the rolly pollies living under them cos it was on clay tiles with gaps and the moisture would get trapped and they'd all move in.
Hey! I’ve wanted a reptile for years and I finally convinced my parents!!! It was because of one of your videos! Also where I live we call woodlouse slaters. Thanks Daniel!!
I'm so glad you are sharing the love for cockroaches, I've had hissers for a little while now and they are just one of the coolest pets ever, definitely misunderstood
Damn! I would love to give your room a visit. I'm sure it would be an awesome and special visit as there are really many different and interesting creatures
Thankfully, the issues i have with roaches aren't primarily visual. They're incredibly pretty and lovely to watch from a distance! I myself have dermestid beetles for bone cleaning, and they're helping me with my fear of larger insects.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Love the Cave/Deaths Head roaches. Impressive size! Question about your snake setups. Do you keep any snakes in Animal Plastics (just an example) style enclosures? I see a lot of Exo-terra type enclosures in your collection and was curious if you prefer them specifically to other type of non-rack enclosures for your snakes or if budget restrictions drove that choice.
Reason I ask is because I’ll be transitioning my snakes from racks to bioactive in the near future and respect your opinion. Looking for a little guidance. Thanks for your time :)
I have no qualms with racks when they’re set up with the best interests of the animals in mind - proper substrate, space requirements, and enrichment/decor within the tubs being the most pertinent issues. I don’t have any tubs but do have some fiberglass Vision cages that I love - almost all my snakes are bio at this point and I definitely do recommend it, be it in a plastic tub or a glass enclosure. All the enclosures on the rack behind me are eventually destined for lizard breeding!
AfroHerpkeeper So appreciate of your feedback, thank you 🙏🏼 Quick follow-up question. I’m assuming your fiberglass Vision cages are housing snakes. If so, are your Vision enclosures set up as bioactive? I think the takeaway is that as long as all husbandry requirements are met, the choice between fiberglass and glass is really more of an aesthetic preference. No real advantage of one of over the other. PS - would love to see some of your bioactive snake enclosures featured in a video. Apologies if they have been already.
They haven’t been featured recently but will be soon - some are definitely nicer than others. It’s entirely an aesthetic preference, and bioactive can be accomplished in many different types of enclosure... the Vision cages are bio - they have great depth, so essentially what I’ve done with them is covered the front in substrate and leaf litter and filled the back with hardscape like rocks and wood pieces to add height. Plants scattered throughout and an LED light hidden in the top
It's been months since my last visit to your channel😐 But after watching this video. I think I am once again inspired to explore😁 Especially now that it's Christmas break
Enjoy your videos so much. I am an older lady:) I have many birds, goats and must confess I am not fond of some creatures BUT they all are so important when you do no no pesticide, organic breeding program of various poultry, and veggie growing. So enjoy your videos. Why not do a few videos about how these help soil ?
My local exotic store has giant cave roaches. Funny story. The security system went off because something triggered the motion sensors. So one of the owners went over and opened the door only to have a huge cave roach glide into his face. After that he decided to no longer keep them in the rooms near motion sensors.
Hey man, congratulations from Brazil! You should come to South America and explore Pantanal and Amazonas, for a person like you would be amazing, due to the especies you are gonna get there! Maybe the especific ones in the world!
Pretty sure I was four - my mom nabbed a box turtle off the road on the way to pre-school. We released him after about six months and my next permanent pet reptile was a beardie around age 7 or 8 - my mom took care of just about everything.

Dr. Marlys Lamar recommended your channel to me!! I'm getting a veiled chameleon soon and I'm super excited :)) I love your videos.
Keep up the good work I’m not a fan of any animal in this video but they don’t bother me keep doing what makes you happy

I have recently added the Giant Orange Isopods to my hermit crab tank for a cleanup crew. They are beautiful.
That's a great use for them!
10:15 lizard waving in the background
Holy crap man...you look like an actual prince 🔥🔥🔥

Brilliant video, thanks so much for sharing this. Just found you, subscribed, look forward to hearing more.

8:30 left hand side
Baby lizarddd😍
Nice unboxing video and Buetefil inverts. .p.s. cant wait for new Reptile room tour.
Alright, this is something I just can’t resist!
The key to most Isopods is moisture. They have gills so they need a high humidity to breathe.
I'm so glad you are sharing the love for cockroaches, I've had hissers for a little while now and they are just one of the coolest pets ever, definitely misunderstood
Damn! I would love to give your room a visit. I'm sure it would be an awesome and special visit as there are really many different and interesting creatures
The large nypmh is what I assume to be a Giant Cave Roach
All of the isopods were gorgeous! I also really liked the cave mix cockroaches!
Thankfully, the issues i have with roaches aren't primarily visual. They're incredibly pretty and lovely to watch from a distance! I myself have dermestid beetles for bone cleaning, and they're helping me with my fear of larger insects.
I’ve got some dermestids too - hissers are probably a good place for you to start, really chill and no jumping/flying capabilities whatsoever.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Love the Cave/Deaths Head roaches. Impressive size! Question about your snake setups. Do you keep any snakes in Animal Plastics (just an example) style enclosures? Hey man, congratulations from Brazil! You should come to South America and explore Pantanal and Amazonas, for a person like you would be amazing, due to the especies you are gonna get there! Maybe the especific ones in the world!
How old were you when you got your first reptile
Pretty sure I was four - my mom nabbed a box turtle off the road on the way to pre-school. We released him after about six months and my next permanent pet reptile was a beardie around age 7 or 8 - my mom took care of just about everything.
