A slimy noodle with nubby legs and webbed feet, a projectile tounge, and a semi prehensile tail that also happens to be black and bright freaking orange? Now THAT is a cool animal!
Plethadons have projectile tongues too, also love the message at the end, people definitely need to be more aware of these problems especially with conservation of habitat for amphibians
Ah my good man salamanders, efts, and newts were my childhood passion back in the 70's. Newts make better pets as they eat freeze dried tubafex worms. Salamanders are finicky.
Hey! I love all your videos. On one, I saw you had a cat??? Can you do a quick video of all your other animals that aren't reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates? I know your channel is based around those, but it would be nice to see your furry & feathery ones too!
Hi I just started watching you and I am completely inspired, love what you do, and what you are committed to. I have a two year old corn snake and am looking to get another snake FYI I am 11 and my parents said their ok for me to get anther and to support me. To get to the point do you have any suggestions on a easy to take care of and friendly snake and thank you for what you do.
(sorry for the bad spelling but english is not my first language). Here in mexico they are called "tlaconete moteado", also they are 848 milles down south from you in their main populations, and sadly as you said their forests are almost gone, and even worst every year people here in mexico burn the forests to cultivate on them illegaly, they are beautyfull creatures and im sure that they will have long happy lifes with you also they are really cute. By the way, for them try to make a pine forest type habitat but whit a lot of humidity and puddles (to try to copy the forests they live in).
God is the greatest artist, the patterns he creates on reptiles, amphibians and leaves of plants leaves me speechless daily. I hope you thank Him for this beautiful planet He gave us to cherish. It is really heartbreaking that most people fascinated with Earth call science their god.Science cant speak a single word towards heaven, i know that for a fact. Bless your heart and your love for animals. in Jesus name, Amen
Gurl. But at least a stand has been taken about phony claims about cultural appropriation of hairdos. And the sincerity is apparent, despite the merch.
I have been watching your channel for a while and subbed. Also are you going to do a room tour anytime soon? Just wondering if not I still love your videos
Awesome vid. I believe captive cultivation is a good idea, but, if something ehere to happen, a nuclear attack, a mass disease, a giant flood, all the progress would be wiped out.
@OMGshinyobject you should maybe stop watching if an educational and insightful intro bothers such an ignorant person like yourself. Or you know maybe just double tap to skip lol, I believe you have fingers right? Although.. he really doesn't need you or your snarky remarks. Give him support.
Hello! What a beautiful pair of animals! Just wondering what your thoughts are on catching and keeping wild animals in the case of invasive species? I come from Ibiza, Spain where there is a real problem with invasive colubrids eating the autochthonous species of the island. Measures by the government involve setting traps and killing all the snakes they find. In a situation like that, would herping a snake from the wild be an option? Would it even adapt to an enclosure? Thanks!
You said that deforestation and habitat losses are large drivers of salamander loss (which is very true!). I was curious, what you think about diseases like Bsal and its relative impact (current and projected) on salamander populations?
Obviously pretty terrible. I haven't looked into the impacts of bsal or chytrid or SFD in-depth but have heard plenty about them. I'm actually going to be ordering a testing kit for these ones just in case.
Do you have any opinion on mexican alligator lizards? I really love them, but I'd like to get information from more people before I make a for sure decision.
I own a pair of Abronia mixteca. They’re probably my favorite lizard genus but currently heavily impacted in the wild by collection and habitat loss, moreso than these salamanders (but I believe they occur in some of the same habitats). It’s safe to assume that most adult Abronia for sale were wild caught and probably worth waiting or searching for breeders. I find a lot of people through Facebook
@@AfroHerpkeeper Aaah so they're able to be captive bred? If so that's really good. I wouldn't want to try to adopt a wild caught if they're endangered. Which I was worried about.
A slimy noodle with nubby legs and webbed feet, a projectile tounge, and a semi prehensile tail that also happens to be black and bright freaking orange? Now THAT is a cool animal!
That intro is the best thing I’ve ever seen. I never sit through peoples intros for their channel but it has such a good message
Allie C I have to agree
Plethadons have projectile tongues too, also love the message at the end, people definitely need to be more aware of these problems especially with conservation of habitat for amphibians
I'm loving your channel. By the way, I wish every youtuber speaks english as clear as you do! (I speak spanish :))
alekita1881 Lol if you think that’s bad try learning spanish! When someone tries to speak they go so fast I hear nothing
I think you and Emily from Snake Discovery would get along amazingly well.

I am strongly in support of keeping invasive species as pets if you can properly support the animal and don't allow it to return to the wild
oh wow they cute
i like turtles
