I have an old copper irrigation system. what's the best and easiest way to rise the heads to the current grass level? The current heads don't even seem to be solder on the pipe.

How did this work for you? About to do the same in Denver, and I like the idea of just removing it in the winter vice having someone come winterize.

Why didn`t you seat it up to the line you marked and said it represented "proper seating"?
Shark bites are not good for outdoors . The rubber O ring deteriorates in extreme weather. You're better off using a compression coupling.
These shark bites dont hold up in the winter
