    As someone from Germany I think it's odd that there are commercials for surgical procedures and prescription drugs at all. I feel like it creates a demand in some people who wouldn't have it otherwise. Idk, it's a cultural difference I guess, but I'm glad it's regulated where I live.

      I always assumed due to the fda overseeing everything so intensely in the USA it would be easier to get medications prescribed or purchased otc definitely in countries South of the USA ( Mexico, Dominican Republic, possibly Bermuda). I also assumed the same about most European Countries.
      I am on Xanax 1mg 3 times a day. I also truly suffer from terrible anxiety, night terrors that often without sleeping meds I have awful insomnia. Recently I added melatonin to my Xanax prescription and I've been having nightmares what feels like more regularly and more intensely. Last night I woke screaming and last week one night this happened three times.

      Would Botox be of any use in low B12 induced peripheral neuropathy? If I try to point my foot or go on tiptoes it like my brain sent 'level 1' messages but my calf muscles think they were sent a 'Mayday' instead, imagine the worst calf cramps of your life every day. It also happens if I stand up too long and are more sensitive to pressure I.e. the light contact between calf and front of sofa/side of bed when I sit down. I'm already on enough painkillers, including opiates, to knock out a small elephant and even then the pain makes me squeal/cry with pain. I'm now 50 years old and have been on painkillers for 72, yep seventy two, % of my life. I'm also fed up with having to do a lot of my own research (NHS may be brilliant but when you get sent to physiotherapy and the so-called physiotherapist asks YOU to TEACH HER about your conditions or when you are told to go to the gym to 'build up' your non-existent shoulder muscles and you end up with a torn tendon in your shoulder which took an operation to fix). Ive had dysport and botox for a few years now and i do not have the same amount of units put in each side of my face. The left side gets about 4-6 more units because the muscle pulls harder on my left. why the variation? because it depends on how long I go between appointments.
    I recommend going to the same injector every time.
    They should always have a chart where they mark where they injected and how many units in each site.
    They should mark your skin with a face pencil (it looks white) and have you emote to make sure they place the injections correctly
    They should also LISTEN TO YOU! I had 1 injector try to tell me i shouldnt do my crows feet because she liked them. Umm no ma'am this is my face i will do what i want. I also had a doctor inject incorrectly and put and 6 units where she should have put 2 because she didnt look at my chart to see I have thick muscles and she forced the injection.
    You should also have a follow up appointment 2 weeks after, especially when you are new to it, so you can adjust by putting in more in or evening things out.
    Also, I get injected every 10 weeks. My body metabolizes it very fast. (I am trying Xeomin next appointment its supposed to last longer) for some people it might last longer, you might notice more movement in certain areas sooner than others, it really just depends! get to know how your body tolerates it.
    I always recommend looking in the mirror and making faces to see how things pull. for instance, I get more injected in my outer corrugator because with my anatomy if i dont my eyebrows will pull up like a rainbow type shape. This is for my face! some people wont have such strong muscles.
    Overall, take your time, and dont be overly upset if you dont like it right away or get a bad result. its a process and i hope this information helps someone!

The effect wore off after three months so of course I just had it redone. I'm pretty happy with my appearance, it's just that as a former flutist those muscles have developed a lot of tenseness form maaaany years of playing, and it's interfering with my singing. Botox is never used to "fill the face" - its a Botulinum A, a neurotoxin, and it's sole purpose is to stop your nerves from moving the muscles there and therefore relax the muscles as you say.
      Fillers are used to fill the face, but these are a completely different thing. The only similarity between Botox/Dysport/Xeomin (the Botulinum A neurotoxins) and fillers such as Juvaderm is that they're both injected.

  • @Pixelschillnobrain
    @Pixelschillnobrain Год назад

    I'm French, and my Surgeon told me that the botox would last for 5 months and that I should avoid it before that so as not to develop antibodies that would impair its effectiveness. For my renewal I went for it after 4 months, thinking it was better. And I was still completely blocked. So we waited a month before renewing because I was beginning to be able to move my muscles slightly. But I think I could easily have lasted 6 months. After that, I don't really have any wrinkles, I'm doing "preventive" botox.

      But it puts psychological pressure on me, because I'm afraid of aging and I want to look like I'm in my twenties. And I've already had botox and an eyebrow lift with botox. And I'm considering other operations to keep my face fresh.
      But in my case, the surgeon told me that it lasts 5 months and not before 3 months to avoid antibodies.
      And he tells me he's only doing it as a preventive measure because he doesn't see any wrinkles.
      On the other hand, I like the rested skin effect it gives. 😁

      Hi. I can say that botox for migraine can be REALLY helpful to the right person. Botox for migraine, in my experience, is injected in the forehead, but also throughout the scalp and sometimes down the neck. I do not know if cosmetic botox would be "willing" to do that. Also, the exact "placement" of the injection does matter, but you might be able to get a standardized injection chart from a medical source that indicates how much of the botox and where to inject it. Also, DO NOT "double up" on botox from separate providers who do not communicate because sometimes, it can make a muscle ineffective to the point, as one person mentioned, that you cannot lift your head. It would wear off, and might be a willing tradeoff for a reduction in chronic pain, but it is not necessary. HOWEVER, consult with a medical provider/professional beforehand. Cosmetic injectors will probably be willing to do botox for migraine, but the results may be uncertain because the injector simply does not know what they are doing and just want your money. Sorry if this is long, it is just that botox really helped my chronic migraines and I would also love to hear Dr. Gary's thoughts on this.

      Research whether Botox will help with what causes your migraines, there’s different types and it may or may not be a good treatment for you depending on that. It’s fine to go to a med spa for this just ask how experienced they are with that injection area and skip them if they don’t have any

    • @ames8
      @ames8 2 года назад +13

      Botox for migraines is a series of around 30+ injections done around the forehead, scalp, neck and shoulders. I would not expect a medical spa to have any knowledge in doing this. I’d definitely recommend seeing a neurologist and determining whether Botox is right for you, and if so, who is qualified to do the injections.

      @@xoxjelloxox Well I had that botox brow lift before my blepharoplasty and I haven't had it since early 2020 bc blepharoolasty imroved the area so much.
      But I been having botox on my horizontal lines on my forehead and with them the botox vanishes in about 4 months also. But it takes me few months to start using the forehead musles so heavily than before botox, so I can sometimes strenghen the gaps between forehead botox. That only means that 4 botox slowly vanishes from me even after that my muscle memory doesn't maybe remember to raise eyebrows so frequently that for me about two months without botox I raise eyebrows lot less or more softly so there are lot less any wrinles showing... It is not the same than with botox, but helps at the moment if must wait for appointment etc. I have now 3 months from my last appointment and some of the botox is still on my horizontals and some are not.
      Then again, the botox brow lift also lifts the skin (I would say bc this was before my blepharoplasty and the word lift) so I would guess regular treatments could be desired for mainentance. But I have no expertice from this so I can't really say if it is so or not.
