The software includes LaserGRBL which is open source and Lightburn which costs more than a dozen dollars. If you are interested, please come to our store to have a look.
Nope. These are all blue diode lasers. There isn't a diode laser that exists that can engrave metal. Diode lasers are 10 watts at max and you need around 50 watts or higher to actually make any kind of mark on metal, let alone steel. So at least $4,000 minimum for a co2 or fiber laser engraver. Average is $7,000. What you see in these demos is the laser just taking the paint off the metal. Still, a diode laser is definitely where you should start if you're an absolute beginner and want to learn how to use an engraver. It's a much cheaper way to figure out if it's something that you have the time, ability and desire to do and if you are planning on making a buisness out of it, it's also a good way to guage if you can get interested customers. Might not be worth the expense for a more powerful one if only a few people would be interested.

these are all toys. . and zero regard for laser refraction. I like my eyes, they are the only ones I get. I'll stick to the self contained higher wattage lasers.
How do they manage to filter out in these videos the incredible amount of poisonous smoke that lasering some of these materials produces? these toys should be banned.
