I was much more prepared for ummu than other bosses, skill wise, and progress wise, yet when I saw Quirrel, the mere chance of losing the fight was gone from my head.
For me I had a good charm build about 7 masks which isn’t great all upgraded spells all movement items ismas tear and I still managed to die bruh

Very similar drums in all the segments. You get used to one pattern, and when the first one comes around it breaks this pattern. Classic stuff but boy it works well
It's actually quite clever. He uses a 6/8 feel for the first 3 counts, and then just adds 1-3 extra beats afterwards. So it's less 4/4, 5/4, and 6/4 and more 6/8+1/4, 6/8+2/4, and 6/8+3/4.

Probably one of the most underrated boss themes in my opinion.

This song is the exact opposite of Nightmare King Grim’s theme. In the NKG boss fight fight, you would die in the first 14 seconds meaning that you never got to hear the full theme. In the Uumuu boss fight, you beat them in like 35 seconds if your good enough. Also meaning that you don’t get experience the full boss theme.
Imagine chilling with your gf but you both are suddenly kidnapped and forced to fight the child of 2 gods imbued with void itself

I'm a bit ashamed to admit it, but Gruz Mother took me more tries than GP Hornet on my first run.
Hornet only took a few tries. The one in green path I mean. The one in kingdoms edge took me a few hours

Whether they are bug, monster or grotesque lump, losing focus now will have you dead
Regardless of whichever fight it plays it on, it still fits well in the context of the fight for the more simpler beings in Hallownest.
Like with the Brooding Mawlek, it conveys the idea, that you are fighting a beast driven mad from lonleyness and the infection. Gruz Mother, a clumsy, but still threatning giant, who's simply defending it's brood.
Uumuu, which guards one of the Dreamers, simply fullfilling it's purpose.
The Collector, way too curious creature made of Void, who despite meaning well in their eyes, does not understand the fragility of life around them.

I don't remember UUMUU being that difficult, so I'm interested to see how others feel about Lost Kin? That was hands down the single most enraging experience I've had in my whole life, took me a whole day to beat. I didn't even feel a sense of victory, I was just doing it because of sunk cost... 10/10 would never do it again
I guess all bosses are different depending of who's playing and in which point in the game. I remenber going against The Broken Vessel like any usual boss then immediately went against Lost Kin. Tbh, it was indeed pretty difficult but it didn't take me too much time since I was already pretty late into the game.
Personnaly the most difficult thing I did in a video game was trying to complete Celeste's chapter "Farwell" in one go. Took me a day an a half and more than 4200 deaths to finish it but damn that was worth it (also, I've played this chapter right after finishing all other chapters' B-sides and before playing C-side, so thx to that I basically completed all of them in one afternoon without strugguling too much so yeah, Farewell was definitively an very good experience, a painful one yes but nonetheless a very good one)
i did lost kin WAY after broken vessel, in fact i did it only for 2400 essence
it's no longer hard at that point, just really annoying since i was going sigma grindset against it:
strength, quick slash (i want to exploit the fact that lost kin staggers even more easily than broken vessel), quick focus, heart
it took me about 20 mins just because of the inhumane number of ghosts thingy spawned, like most of the time i can't even heal once even with quick focus.
also i did farewell with around 3800 deaths
i struggled a lot w lost kin too. then i tried using defender's crest and it made it 50% easier not having to deal with those orange ghost thingies (forgot what theyre called) coming after u every second
Felt the same way on my first playthrough, but I first tried it and Broken Vessel back to back on my second. No idea how
Really? I beat Lost Kin in two tries, lost one because I equipped the wrong charms. Lost kin is a boss with knockback, so you can bully him with Quickslash + heavy body

Some speculate the knight actually isn't hollow. I have no idea if these are true though.
I'm pretty sure you mean pure, and if so, the Knight is _not_ pure
Multiple times has The Knight been said to have a will (Like void heart) and Jinn directly calls attention to it.
"..It refuses to trade...? _It has a will... all Its own"_
The Knight has also demonstrated having a mind (Like being able to kill or spare the nail smith, choosing to sit with Quirrel, etc) But one of the biggest ones is in Pantheon of Hallownest where Nosk, who takes the form of loved ones, turns into Hornet, showing the Knight has a bond with Hornet. (Which we know is one of the reasons why THK is seen as impure, with it's bond with the pale king.)
Also, this isn't a big deal, but the Knight is an "it" not a "he".
