- If you have lifted your vehicle chances are your steering wheel is off center when your done, mine was 25 degrees off, if this is the case, your computer system will think something is wrong and will flash a stability control system service is needed, all its doing is sensing the steering wheel position is off and it is an easy fix, recenter the steering utilizing the adjustment on the drag link and go for a drive and it will correct itself.

Thank you. Just changed the steering gear box. The steering wheel is off center, and the magic message is on. Thanks for the video.
Awesome glad it helped out, the messages that pop up are the worst especially after you have done work to improve something or replace something that broke
Thank you - I did freak out, but now i feel better. The check engine light came on also. so when i get back into town i will run a scan. again thanks for the info
Absolutely good luck with the check engine light, hopefully a reset on the scan tool will fix it!
Thank you for sharing this info, revived this message today after having a 2" lift for almost 2 yrs. Odd it popped up years later.
Absolutely, thanks for checking us out! Glad it was helpful
Thanks for this. I had to rebuild all my Rock Krawler control arm bushings. Once completed I noticed steering wheel off center but test drove it anyway. The Stability Control Light flickered after a few low speed quick left / right steering changes. Then after a few more miles of test drive came on continuously. I corrected the steering wheel after test drive. Glad to know it will (hopefully)reset. Update: after about 35 minutes of driving and a shutdown and startup Stability sys reset.
Absolutely, I knew when it happened to me others might be in the same position, hope it reset for you, thanks for watching the video and checking out the channel!
Thanks for the info
You bet!
thanks so much..i lifted my jeep today..
Awesome, thanks and congrats on the lift!
Thanks for that video!

👍great video thanks
Thanks and thanks for watching our video! Have a great rest of your day
my jeep keeps getting the service electronic stability and throttle control codes. It gets the check engine and the red lightning bolt. It is lifted and when I drive anywhere it just will randomly go into limp mode. It’s so frustrating. I checked the codes and they were for throttle body and accelerator pedal. Do you think the issue will go away if I replace both?
I am not a huge fan of just replacing parts. My guess is it is something electrical. Before replacing anything i would check to make sure all the fuses are pushed down all the way, make sure all the ground connections are tight, make sure the battery cables are tight, and i would inspect, clean, and reapply dielectric grease to them, just to make sure you have no moisture in the connectors, clear any codes with a code reader and see if that works first
My jeep 2022 jeep gladiator just goes into limp mode and the esc comes on and the truck just shuts off!! and wont restart and and i have to tow it to the dealership every time!!. I have only changed the from bumper only on my jeep so far. I do believe the steering is slightly off a bit. My question is can the esc light cause the jeep into limp mode and just shut off for safety reasons etc. I need help!!!
That is crazy! Do you have a diesel or the gas version? Any sensor fault especially if its dealing with the engine or the brakes will cause limp mode, are your just driving on the road when it happens?
@FischerJeepAdventures Gas & Yes While I am Driving, not safe at all. So one month after swapping my front bumper then this started happening. So I am wondering if it's an alignment issue as my steering is not fully straight as well and triggering the esc, and it could use an alignment as well.
@patdil9991 I would either try aligning the steering wheel your self or having an alignment done first to rule that out, the bumper issue has me wondering if a safety sensor was impacted by the install of the bumper? Which bumper did you put on? And does it have the proximity sensors or any of the active braking active safety stuff?
@FischerJeepAdventures Yes, the alignment was completed by the dealership on Friday, I am picking it up tomorrow. I am assuming the alignment includes both the tires and the steering wheel usually, right?? I put on the "Oedro" bumper brand. No, I don't have any of those options on my bumper and sensors on my bumper.
@patdil9991 ok yes the alignment should include centering the steering wheel and setting the toe, camber is not adjustable on wranglers and caster is also not adjustable unless you have adjustable control arms installed, if you installed adjustable track bars then the alignment could also included centering the axle under the vehicle if necessary. If your all stock then its just toe on the front axle and steering wheel
Hello. I just completed the alignment. How long should I drive in order to reset? Drove a couple miles still there. Please help thank you.
It should have gone off after a few turns of the steering wheel and about half mile or so of driving, is the steering wheel straight?
Yes. I’m taking it back to the shop to see what the computer reads. Could be the auxiliary battery 😳😳🤷🏻♂️. Thanks man!! Awesome video.
@usnjumper727 thanks, good luck, it seems that aux battery causes alot of trouble
@@FischerJeepAdventures the light finally disappeared 💪🏻👍🙌. Thanks brother!! 🙏
@usnjumper727 excellent, glad it finally went out, I am sure your relived I know I was!
How long does it take for the electronic stability control sensor to disappear?
Depending on if you got the steering wheel recentered it could be right away like mine or i have heard like 10 to 20 miles of driving making sure your turning to allow the sensor to read normal again
But was your off centrer before you adjusted your steering wheel ?
Papy, no the steering wheel was centered perfectly before the lift and the changes in geometry pulls the steering linkage and it just needs to be recentered
@@FischerJeepAdventures i meant, was your steering off centered after the lift, before you adjusted the drag link ?
@papy, yes sorry after the lift it was off center and when instarted the jeep the lights came on as the jeep recognized the steering wheel was way out of position, once i adjusted the drag link recentered the wheel and restarted the jeep all was back to normal, too many sensors and computers
@@FischerJeepAdventures thanks! I just wanted to be sure that my problem isn’t coming from there.
I did the front axle swap + regearing and now I’m having the ABS and ESC lights on … been trying to solve it for a month 😭
@Papy gotcha, man that sucks, good luck to you, i wonder if you have a leak in your abs lines, those plastic lines are fragile
Something keeps blowing fuse for power steering and sway bar. It was once every few months and now it’s daily.
Did you make any changes to the system, steering, suspension. Bigger tires?
@@FischerJeepAdventures I didn’t. It has bigger tires but we bought it that way
And it was lifted when we bought it
Never driven off road. Only pavement princess for my wife
It sounds like a short, i think the fuse you are having is with is 34? There are a few wiring harness that run around the front bumper area underneath the skid plate and if things were moved around when lifting you could have a wire thats rubbed through and is shorting out against the frame, i would check that area
I have this issue come up, ONLY when it’s raining outside and wet. Otherwise, it never comes up. Anyone else have this issue?
I bet you have a sensor issue, especially if it is only occurring when it rains!
@@FischerJeepAdventures thanks for the prompt feedback, any sensor in particular ya think?
The steering wheel position sensor is what causes the issue when u lift a vehicle as the vehicle cant apply stability control while it looks like your always turning, in your case my guess is on of your wheel speed sensors is tripping when it rains as they will also cause the service stability control light, i would check there first
@@FischerJeepAdventures thank you so much, appreciate your help 🙏🏽 2018 Jeep Rubicon Mopar here
Absolutely, good luck, i will be interested to see what the issue was.

Stability
Control
Is that mean your transmission is bad I took mine to the jeep and they told me the transmission is bad because of that sign but I do not believe it
It does not, the stability control is a brake modulation and power reduction all run through your computer, the transmission control is a different animal, all of the stability control warnings are because a sensor is bad, dirty or out of alignment
If your transmission was bad you would not be able to drive it at all
