    Can this be used with a battery pack and how long much charge does a single use take?

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 2 дня назад

      Yes it can be used with any of the battery setups like jackery, ecoflow, anker, etc. as far as how much power does it use, i would say its really negligible if you pre heat the water maybe 100w for the pump while you shower, if you use the element to heat the water its going to take quite a bit 1500 to 2000 watts

    Studies have shown that the smell of petrol in your car, is no where near as offensive as the smell of an incinerated body after being rear ended, spraying flammable liquid over the entire vehicle, pending an ensuing inferno.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 20 дней назад

      Well thats certainly a perspective that is yours, one thing you forget is the persistent exposure to the vapor that comes from gasoline is toxic to your lungs, cause a myriad of cancers, gets infused into every cloth surface, contaminates anything edible inside your vehicle, and last but not least creates when containing inside a closed vehicle a potential explosive environment as the vapor is extremely flammable, while yea if you are rear ended by tractor trailer or large enough suv to break the rotopax gas will leak but at that point its the least of your worries as the damage done to your vehicle most likely has a far greater effect on your life and i would much rather have gas spilling on the outside than on the inside not to mention the thousands of miles you exposed yourself and everything you own to the gas vapor you put in your vehicle

    Plastic housings will break if you have incompetent people changing your oil. If you do it yourself like you do it will last the life of your car. And aftermarket to boot not good. If you’re worried about breaking it order an extra one and keep it for emergency. Just a thought

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures Месяц назад

      At the recommendation of everyone since i changed out the plastic one, I did purchase the metal toyota oil filter housing, the dorman lasted three oil changes with no issues at all, but i found a toyota housing for $30.00 so I bought it and installed it on the last oil change, I guess everyone thinks the dorman aluminum is cheaper than toyota but they looked the same to me, anyway your right if you use the right tool to take it off and do not overtighten it should last

    Maybe I missed it, but is there some way of locking the ratchet strap? Seems like a waste to have locking rotopacks mounted on an unsecured strap.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures Месяц назад

      You didnt there is not a way to lock the ratchet straps, plus they can be cut with a knife if people are determined, the lock on the rotopax is cheap insurance to make it difficult to take them, sure they can try and undo the straps and then get the assembly off and try and runaway with the entire mess, but i am going to make it hard, the harder things are to take the less likely the opportunistic criminal will act. So to your point yes they can still be taken but like I said I am gonna make it difficult to do so

    • @CoreyBrass
      @CoreyBrass 22 дня назад

      I use a similar system... but with the much cheaper Long Haul cans from China. I put a lock on my strap but like he said, anyone can cut the strap or just siphon the gas. Siphoning the gas is how I'd prefer it to be stolen if it happens because that is the cheapest and easiest thing to replace. When it comes to this stuff, my thoughts are just to make it so some impulsive kid walking by can't take my shit. Anyone who comes to my jeep with a plan, I have very little defense from. I'm a believer that most of these crimes are targets of opportunity, and even a simple heavy-duty ziptie on the strap handle can make a kid walk away. If he can cut the tie, he can cut the strap. 🤷‍♂️

    I used to ride this trail on my "dual sport" back when you could go all the way through. I once met the original property owner of the now closed off section. He told me all about the community that lived there in his grandparent's day. He told me where the foundations of the general store and the schoolhouse are. He said his grandfather had a 2-wheel drive truck and a Ford Fairlane and could easily get around the whole community. It is too bad that you can't go through their anymore because it was so interesting. A few 'bad seed' 4WD people ruined it for everyone by driving into closed areas.

    Thanks for the video. How wide is your Jeep? I have a Rubicon Xtreme Recon which also has 35in tires. My exact dimensions 79.3 inches wide. Do you think that will fit?

      Hey thank you for checking out the video, i was setting almost 80 inches the side walls were touching the rails of the trailer but it fit and made it 1700 miles across the country with no issues. I did inflate the tires to the max cold psi the shrink the width ever so slightly but yes you will fit!

    my jeep keeps getting the service electronic stability and throttle control codes. It gets the check engine and the red lightning bolt. It is lifted and when I drive anywhere it just will randomly go into limp mode. It’s so frustrating. I checked the codes and they were for throttle body and accelerator pedal. Do you think the issue will go away if I replace both?

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 2 месяца назад

      I am not a huge fan of just replacing parts. My guess is it is something electrical. Before replacing anything i would check to make sure all the fuses are pushed down all the way, make sure all the ground connections are tight, make sure the battery cables are tight, and i would inspect, clean, and reapply dielectric grease to them, just to make sure you have no moisture in the connectors, clear any codes with a code reader and see if that works first

    How many miles can you get out of this engine if it’s well maintained?

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 2 месяца назад

      If you change the oil like your supposed to with good quality oil and keep the airfilter clean I would say easily 150,000 to 200000 with any major issues, you will have normal maintenance items like with any engine, water pumps, plugs, coils, alternators, etc and depending on how hard you are on the motor maybe the turbo but I would doubt it. They are a solid platform

      The lift is set for an overlanding load, so once you load up in the back and in my case as well put on a roof top tent it leveled out nicely, if your not going to do that and just want the lift a spacer may work to give you the stance your looking for

    Thanks for the great video. Would a full size Ram 1500 truck make it? Would the truck be too wide?

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 2 месяца назад

      Thanks, the truck is plenty capable, but there are some narrow spots and tight spaces coming up from the campground along the shelf road sections, i think it would make it but it might test your comfort levels, the other issue i can see is traffic, it really would make that a challenge if you meet other vehicles as there are few areas to pass and those that do exist are really tight

    Sam is adorable! Love those dogs, yours is very well behaved. Do you harness him while you drive (the dog seat belt)…I haven’t researched them. My pup sits on my lap while I drive which is dangerous.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 3 месяца назад

      Thanks, sadly we had to put him to sleep a few months ago, the vet found late stage cancer in him during a check up, he was a great dog and we had far too little time with him, Sam had more miles offroad in the jeep than alot of people do. He will be missed, as to the seatbelt harness, no i have never used one, I am not a fan of tying a dog down as i feel it makes them super uncomfortable in the vehicle. Again people have lots of opinions about that but this is mine, I have had dogs since I was a kid and they have always been free to move in my vehicles, it has worked for me and my puppies for the last 50 years.

    • @barpatron
      @barpatron 3 месяца назад

      @@FischerJeepAdventures I’m so sorry for your loss…I agree about the seat harness as I’m not one to tie a dog down either. I was curious if it protected the animal in the event of a crash. Take care!

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 3 месяца назад

      @barpatron I am not sure anything will protect a dog in a crash, the harness just teathers the dog to the single point of the seat belt connector. Which effectiveless turns them into a whip. In my career in public safety I have never seen a dog die in a car crash, I am sure some first responders can disagree with their own experiences, more often than not they pop out and run away leaving the owner who does not fair as well. Animals are pretty resilient and dont suffer from the same tensing injuries humans do in car crashes and especially in todays air bag laden vehicles the passenger compartment is safer for animals who are not restrained more than ever. Just my .02

    Thanks for the video. I just purchase a 4Runner Limited. I have ~500 miles on it, how many miles do you recommend for the first oil change? I understand it should be done earlier in the process because of the break-in period. 1-2k miles seems appropriate. Like to know your thoughts.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 3 месяца назад

      I always do 1500 for the first oil change, in my opinion it allows all of the factory break in lubricant in the motor to do its job. Just something I have always done and it seems to work. I am sure there are plenty of opinions out there but thats mine! Congrats on the purchase

    How is the ride with the new springs? I have the standard AEV springs and was thinking about upgrading to the heavy-duty AEV springs. I just heard they may be stiffer.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 3 месяца назад

      Greg the ride is a little stiffer when empty but its not bad the progressive rate takes alot of the harshness out vs a single rate spring and when loaded it rides great which is what my intent was when getting them to make sure i have the best ride when loaded down but also had a good ride when empty and with my set up these springs do that. I would get them if you are considering them.

    in the video you did not seem completely happy with the shocks. what setting did you install them on soft or sport? ive read several post where people say get the 2dr model shocks for the 4 dr jeeps cause they are softer. if you could do it over would you keep what you have or would you order the same shocks except for a 2dr model which would be a little softer or get a completely different shock? im mainly curious about daily driving use.

    • @FischerJeepAdventures
      @FischerJeepAdventures 3 месяца назад

      So I have them on the sport setting as i prefer the stiffer ride that give move dampening on the trail and have found over time i actually prefer it on the street as well, to do it over, bang for your buck i would buy them again same model same setup as it works great for what i do with the jeep, if money was not an option i would buy the new 3.3 fast adjust piggy back shocks because it really gives you the most adjustability for DD, loaded un loaded, gravel roads, wash boards, trails, light rock crawling/ real off camber terrain. But after several thousand miles offroad on the falcon 2.1s i am really happy with them
