Wiring Your Way to Jeep Accessory Awesomeness: How I did mine

In the last video we installed the DIY platform and mounted the fridge slide and the fridge, in this video we mock up and install the electrical system components, the Victron battery monitor shunt, the Victron dc to dc charger, 12v fuse block, battery switch and fuses, the vector off-road rear tray for the JLU and prepared for the battery to be installed and the 12v components to be wired back into the system.

I have the backbone system too and just bought a molle panel made of thick hard plastic and I was thinking of mounting to the window frame of the backbone and route electric there.
Bouncing it off you to see if you can think of pros/cons of that style setup.

I think that would work just fine, most of the electrical stuff is really light and securing the panel to the backbone uprights would be the biggest challenge, but there is certainly plenty of space between the window and the roll bar that is really not used. It a great idea!

What wire gauge are you running to your SOK battery (same brand I used in my van)? The kit I used specced 4/0 GA welding cable, but your setup looks like it uses narrower gauge. I like the straightforward layout of the components.

Hey, I used 2 gauge wire purely because of the limited load the wire will take. i have a sprinter van with 600 ah of lithium batteries and all my cables are 4/0 wire from the battery bank to the distribution center which connects to the 3000w inverter and to the dc distribution panel. The wire has to be matched to the potential load/loads and the length of the wire for voltage drop. in a van particularly 4/0 covers all of the variables. My setup in the jeep is limited to a short wire run and my loads are my fridge and all the led lights which wont come close to the ampacity limit of the 2 gauge wire I used. Hope thats helpful
