U.C. 0097, one year after the opening of "Laplace's Box." Despite the revelation of the Universal Century Charter that acknowledges the existence and rights of Newtypes, the framework of the world has not been greatly altered.
The conflict later dubbed the "Laplace Incident" is thought to have ended with the downfall of the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves. In its final battle, two full psycho-frame mobile suits displayed power beyond human understanding. The white unicorn and the black lion were sealed away to remove this danger from people's consciousness, and they should now be completely forgotten.
However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex.

No. He's a failed attempt to clone Char Aznable. Because he was a failure, he never received the physical alterations Full Frontal did. I almost wonder if the psychoframe imprinting process didn't drive Zoltan crazy. Though, as a cyber-newtype, the conditioning processes itself has had a habit of leaving the subject mentally unstable anyway.

Harrison Lee the pay probably depends on rank/what they pilot so like someone who pilots a Gundam ground type would get more than a GM pilot. Besides I thought Jona was loau and co(I think that’s how it’s spelled).

Just saw it tonight and I thought it was pretty great! Seeing Gundam in theaters was a huge treat.
Is it me or the sound effects during mobile suit battles in the english dub are better than the Japanese version at some scenes? I love Jona's voice actor, really shows his hurt and emotions during the major scenes. Rita also has an angelic voice as well, which is fitting for her character...if only we could see what her adult self look like. The original newtype sound came back once more, which is great!

That is possibly the only area where Japan's productions do skimp out on a bit. Generally speaking, the audio quality of English dubs is rendered at a higher quality(more so Hollywood standard) compared to Japanese audio. It has nothing to do with lower quality equipment or software. It's just.... something that Japan does for some odd reason.

For some time now..All because that Anime is now being taken seriously nowadays.
Nowadays most anime dubs are pretty listenable. Even when the Japanese version is still preferable, the English dub tends to have real effort and quality put into it, especially when it's done by Funimation.

I just got out of the theater and this movie was beautiful everyone has to see it
oh yeah, had a great time seeing this movie. even made friends before they started playing this in my theatre. surprisingly the entire theatre seemed it was sold out. it was great to see lots of people being a fan of Gundam.
That song Vigilante 12:12-14:37 is amazing and is definitely my new favorite song.

dont take my word on this but i looked up on wikipedia, and i think it does. i think i read where it says it takes place 15 years after Char's CounterAttack.
So it’s 9 ish years after this because chars counter attack was only 4 years prior to this movie

Oh My God this is probably one of the best Gundam show with a greatEnglish Dub it’s on point, it’s voice actors are putting in so much effort with the emotions of their characters and it just fits so damn well.

@@MrKamikaze1337 I am. Its just that usually the closest showing to me is in New York which is a 4 hour drive on a good day. This however is showing in the 3 movie theaters closest to me which is nice.
This is the first ever Gundam movie that I got to see in a theater. That alone would have made it special to me, but the movie itself was pretty damn good too. It was an interesting and emotionally satisfying story on its own and a commendable bridging point between the Gundam 0079-to-Unicorn era and the later UC stories to come.
So many question, but intrigued
It's good to see that the English voices translations are legit near accurate to the ones presented in the subbed version. And atl east (unlike SEED) their dub is way better (just a tad bit more to reach the level of Unicorn's English dub)

@@dafas5324 it's not just that, the parts that make up the Psychoframe were basically cannibalized from the Unicorn Gundam! The red psychoframes you see scattered all over the chassis, ALL of it came from the Unicorn Gundam. Banagher isn't gonna be happy when he finds out about what happened to his Gundam that his father gave him...

Emanuel Mason Iron Blooded Orphans is not a Universal Century timeline show. It has no connection to Unicorn or Narrative and all the other UC stuff. IBO is a stand alone show.

Which is more powerful: Phenex or Unicorn?
Well, the Phenex was the last if the RX-0 series, and was pushed for increased combat capability by the Federation than its older sibling units. Combine that with the brain of a full Newtype with its operating system and you have a Gundam that could probably hold it's own against BOTH the Unicorn and Banshee.
To add with that, we see it perform the same ability of dismantling/reverting machines back to their pre-developed state as the Unicorn did in the series finale, the big difference between then and now is the the Phenex didn't need to activate its NT-D mode/Psychoframes to do so, so that alone makes if VERY powerful.
That said, The Unicorn (if still piloted by Banagher) could probably beat the Phenex, though only by a small margin as he was able to make his Gundam enter an awakened/Crystal-Burst Psychoframe mode which stopped MANY mobile suits at once.
So I guess it ultimately depends on whose behind the controls to win. But I believe the Unicorn and Phenex are evenly matched.

I'd imagine just having Rita easily has the advantage, especially if paired with a pilot. I say Rita, because she is the Phenex now. Just imagine having ALICE from Superior Gundam on steroids helping you out throughout the fight. Not only that, but Rita also had an Armed Armor XC installed in her. If you remember the original specs for Banshee, it had the same generator output as Unicon, bit after receiving its XC, its generator output was increased by nearly 1500. Rita's generator output was vastly higher than both Unicorn and Banshee without the XC. So, just imagine her output with her XC installed. That, and let's remember Rita can use any other tech, weapon, and add-on that Unicorn and Banshee can, such as the Armed Armor BS, or the Gatling Beam Shields. I should also point out that (canon) only Banagher can pilot Unicorn.
I have a test that ends at 7pm and won't be able to make it....sadness
Which is why this "One night only" thing is bullshit. I could easily watch it on a Friday, but I work nights every day aside from Friday...
